Why is the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS the one NOT to get?

I agree, The first pictures that they shared didn't show this new design favorably and I was worried. Every time that I've seen it since, I've really liked it. It just looks so mean and cool, like it's going to eat everything in it's way. I would only change the wheels to something that looks less modern. I wish that I could buy one and help them out. If we don't buy them, they may kill off the Camaro again. Don't let that happen guys.

Rented a 2019 SS from Alamo at Miami Airport, Absolutely loved every bit of it, love the front, love the tail lights, Heads up display was Awesome. I really don't understand your hate, the car is Awesome, I now want one back in the UK. I even stopped by the Chevrolet dealership in Miami to get more details on the car and the various spec options. My first camaro was a 76 F body. I had that as a daily driver for 4, 1/2 years Im loving this new model, thanks Chevrolet

The rear end looks dumb as shit, and a downgrade to the more aggressive rear from the previous style, also the new lights and styling in the front makes it look like a bmw concept car, Looks short and stuby on the side view with no real longated looks, even the big “muscle car hips” arnt really there, it looks like a suped up civic with a chevy badge, i hate this car, i love everything about camaros from 2016 to 1967, but, i cant handle this shitstain of a looking car

The hate on this car Is ridiculous. It looks great, the first time I saw the refresh I really liked It. And anyone can easily get some of the front grille repainted If It bothers them that much. People who hate on this but like the rolling refrigerator (Challenger) design have It backwards.

Honestly heres what I have to say. The styling is crap. It looks worse than previous years. The 2017 is sexier hell even my 2010 ss looks better in my opinion. Secondly if you're buying s new car and you already need to repaint a part of the vehicle that's an immediate flaw. Third. Chevys newer motors just aren't very great, same as the 8 speed. They make less horse power than the coyote with a whole liter and a fifth more displacement. They arent bad cars. But for the price an older ss or even an older zl1 is just better in my opinion. As well as shit a newer mustang.

The Camaro SS is an outstanding buy for the money. I bought a 2SS two years ago and use it on some weekends. Have 2800 miles on it. I prefer the front end of mine, but for the money even a 2019 can't be beat.

The taillights are awesome in my opinion. People naturally don’t like change, I felt the same way about the 2016 CTS V when it made its appearance it had to grow on me. I think these cars are ahead of people’s preference and will take time for people to interpret what the designers are saying, it is art baby!

I have the 17SS and at first I hated the 19s but now they grew on me and I think they look really good. I remember when the new mustang came out in 2015 and just about everyone hated it lol. Dual-mode exhaust, Metallic Black front splitter, second generation, and went with the Illuminated footwells. Just some minor changes

Simple math. That car you purchased after taxes licensing and fees and no discounts you are probably paying $60,000. (Especially if you bought the manga ride system which you probably did not) So you are paying thy much for a car that only produces 455hp and a giant iPad in the center council. The gt350 has 527 hp , carbon fiber wheels, better drivetrain and better handling. At that price for that camaro you are better off saving for a year and buying a corvette.

I really like the design, especially in the blue color. Those black wheels look really good to me too. Only thing I'd change is the transmission, gotta go 6 speed 😉 Also on a side note, I heard you say this has the 8 speed when it's the 10 speed

This guy completely gets it. They should've left everything the way it was, but make it a bit more aggressive. I also don't like the rear taillights I rather they kept it the same, but make it full LED's. Bring back an updated version to the 2015 Z28 wheels would be sick! Ground effects should be standard on all SS models not a damn option. I felt most of the refresh should've went into the interior with some soft touch plastics, full digital gauges, metal pedals standard etc. That's my two pennies.

I got a 2018, i love that car my wife drives it not me tho. I stick to my 2018 Impala i do not see why people hate the new Camaro. It's different and i think it's cool, and i already know it's selling seen them driving around since the day the released. I remember when they're invented" the mustang, talking about ugly i hated it ...but got used to it (i had a 2012 which i liked better at the time) i like the new Camaro design. I had a 2016 camaro ss and I wanted another. When I saw this was coming in 19 and was let down. So I found myself a 2018 SS 1LE. So glad I went for that and not this hideous monstrosity. I think we could agree that the 19 2.0 turbo camaro looks better then the SS. It's so sad.

Love the new front end. I’ll be getting a 2SS in the next few weeks, and the front end was a big selling point for me. I also like the rear tail light design. But I agree the spoiler isn’t great. Mainly the pedestal mounts like you mentioned. I looked and you can get a nice looking wicker bill spoiler attached instead, but it comes in the 1LE performance package.

Here’s why I’m ordering the 19. Because when it becomes a classic in 25 years I’ll still have it. And it will be one of the few with this mod on the grille. And added with the 1LE package, my ride will be in the rare, more valuable category than the others. This is how 1 year optioned/modded vehicles get more valuable down the road. I’m here for the ride, not the grille!

This guy needs to test drive it and see what it's all about. The looks are great for the price range. I test drove the 2ss1le and a 2019 mustang gt. This car won my heart. Great build for gm in my eyes. The first model year that the stock exhaust backfires for atleast 5-8 seconds every shift.

Its odd people don't like the 19 front end, I think its the meanest looking Camaro ever bulit. The changed 2020 and 21 face looks like a neutered version of whats supposed to be a mean muscle car. To be honest i think the hate started online and everyone jumped on the bandwagon to be in the know or just get along.

I use to think the exact same thing you did about the new re-style but its honestly growing on me. The 16-18 front end look like the beak of a bald eagle with the hood vents looking like the nostrils lol. The front of the new one looks like a savage brute that just walked onto the battle field with his club ready to bash your head in, not pretty but bad ass looking

I like Camaros and Mustangs, I don't mind the front end of this car so much, the rear end is where I was confused and felt like it was missing alot of muscle and design. As always great review Joe and Tom , love the honesty!!!

To each their own. Gm did a simple refresh without spending a lot of money so they can put the money into the new Camaro coming in 2021. Personally I understand that the front end of a car needs to do a lot more than look pretty. When you sell $70,000 Camaros that blow the doors off cars costing several hundred thousand dollars you can afford to sacrifice looks for performence and value, in my opinion. I think the front end has more to do with the race track than car meets. If GM was to realease a Camaro even more radical than the ZL1 1LE for the sixths gens last hurrah, like they did with the C7 corvette, they would certainly need to be able to keep it cool on a race track....

The 2019 1LE SS looks alot better than the regular SS. The bigger wheel and tire setup off sets the front end nicely. Also, the front end looks amazing at night when the headlights are lit up.

As a Camaro fan I think we are used to seeing the traditional Camaro styling but I'm glad to see that they are changing it up I love the retro look but it's close to 2019 and would like to see more futuristic features from these new models.

New front end will take time to grow on people and for some never. There are definitely some colors that better represent the new camaro body style, white is meh for this body style. Should make that blacked out grill body color.

I mean, the 2015 mustang is often regarded on one of the most attractive muscle car designs in recent memory, same with the 6th gen camaro. The 18 stang took some time to grow on people, but now, most people like it. The facelifted camaro is already getting ready to receive some small changes to help.

Puff the Magic Dragon my cousin has a 2015 5.0 and i just don’t see how it’s one of the most attractive muscle designs. I like the rear end, but the front Looks like a catfish to me. I LOVED the 2013-2014 GTs, I even almost got one. Those were the most beautiful mustangs ever IMHO.

The "flow-tie" on the bumper is actually functional, letting in up to 2.5 cubic meters of air per minute. Also, I think suggesting to get a ZL1 just because of looks is totally wrong. For me, 2SS is the ultimate GT car and this is what I would want. The ZL1 (or SS 1LE) is a track car which is much harder to live with as a daily driver. I.e. they are not really the same car.

A brutally honest review of everything that was bugging me about this refresh. It seems most reviewers have been shrinking away from this. Honestly have never been a Camaro fan, but I’ve always liked the retro-revival Camaro of recent years. This just looks like a deformed Toyota Camry on steroids though. I bought a 2019 Bullitt Mustang on sight That is just one sexy, smooth, flowing design. “Cohesive” is a good word for it. ;)
