Yeah, shima is overpowered but at least shima has to occasionally deal with things like radar cruisers and gunboats. Overpowered carriers don't have to deal with anything. The ONLY thing that has any chance of slowing them down is concentrated AA which often dosn't do much, esp when your entire squadron launches at once kilometers away.

So i can say with confidence, the congress with a aa build hard counters the new russian carriers planes, normally when they come in, i kill half the planes before they can launch any bombs or torps, with aa booster they usually only get like 1 bomb or torp off and thats if im the only person in the area, with teamates nearby, ive never been hit by its planes

Spartan, it's tactics. It's not the ship. Maybe that's part of it sure. But it's all tactics based on ships in game. Not everyone has a noodle for that. I do believe the CV needs somewhat of a nerf but not much. I'm a BB main. But love that there's a CV that can force players to rethink their strategies.

It’s got potent skip bombers I’ll give you that. They will probably nerf their damage soon. But any destroyer player with half a functional brain cell can easily counter skip bombers. Especially since they got nerfed so that the bombs need to skip at least once before arming

It’s not even close to being OP, out of JUST the T7 CV, it ranks 6th-7th. It lacks fuel to attack long range. It can’t predrop so it still runs out of planes if you stay active in battle. It just is better than the WORST CV in the game, the tech tree Russian. People just hate CV so they gotta cry when any new one comes out. They will get over it 😂😂😂

@@ToskaCat How did it just casually beat the t7 cv dmg rekord on the day of relase? It can delete destroyers. It puts most cruiser to about half live with one drop. Even deals great dmg to Battleships. These bombs have 68 mm pen and deal about 12 k alpha. That's just too much.

The first half the video is just a general rant at CVs. The Pobeda can do the same thing. The big difference is the huge damage output by this new one. 6 minutes into the match, you could’ve achieved this in the Pobeda with less damage. And you’d only have about 3 planes per type left over, and having utilised the evasion consumable. Another couple minutes and you may be de-planed in the tech tree version. I’m assuming this new ship retains planes better by having 3 squadrons of 6, rather than 2 of 7. The Pobeda, whilst novel, is a straight up, bomb, return rinse & repeat snooze. Great AA will devour that CV. Before it gets nerfed, the DD community will hunt this new OP ship out early. *They should* : - reduce the damage CVs do; - have the Russians send 3 or 4 torpedoes; - the others nations restrict to 2, and have them fly down in a cascade formation (1,… 2); - but slightly increase plane HP; - give slightly longer fuel range, but bring back the redline throttle which will either over heat or use more fuel. - re voice the spotting mechanic so that it actually makes sense, like: “enemy location tagged on the mini map”. (- and maybe only have them in Tier iii and V.)

Spartan, nothing you did in terms of battle impact is something any other CV in the game can do. You call yourself the worst carrier player but really carrier play is just about disrupting the enemy team, which you know how to do. I will say the skip bombs on the Chkalov doing almost 2x the damage of the Pobeda is a bit absurd and makes the planes a much scarier thing to have to avoid on the receiving end. But the torps are also worse (lower damage, slower) than the Pobeda.

Got hit for 16k 2 bomb drops in a row (thats WITH dodging). 1st drop double fire, 2nd drop perma triple fire. Its hets better. Then a 9k bow in torpedo run that double flooded. I got to play all of 1.5min of the match

I think carriers in this game are underplayed and often feel out of place in most matches. The controls are clunky and not very user-friendly, and there is a real lack of in-game guides or information on how to play them well. While tweaking damage or power could be a buff depending on the carrier, the main issue is that it is simply not an easy class to play. Overall, carriers need refinement to make them smoother to control, more fun to play, and better integrated into matches while still keeping balance in mind.

As a carrier main, I think the best thing to do here is to slightly nerf the bombs. The bombs ability to take half health away from anything is little bit too much. But I don’t think it is as bad as everyone says. People complain about carriers being able to damage somebody for over 15k in one hit, but shouldn’t carriers be allowed to punish someone for being a potato, like all classes? The only thing you need to do beat a carrier is to have a brain and turn your ship and stay close to other ships. I’ll say, as a carrier main, I don’t get nearly as good drops against grouped enemies. Work as a team and stack AA. To keep Chkalov balanced, buff the torps a little if you’re going to nerf the bombs. That’s my take, I’d like to hear others

You’re reasons for why this ship is to strong is just explaining why CV are valuable when played right. 😂 This ship is NOT broken. It’s actually the only viable Russian CV in the game. Russian planes have horrible fuel and you can’t predrop. Making Tech Russian CV actually useless. They run out of planes 5 mins in and can’t even do damage after that. They finally release a Russian CV that has enough plane respawn to be simply playable and the whole world cries. 😂
