😂The clavicle is the human crumple zone. 69+yrs old here, with 3800+mi on OneWheel. I have used, what I call the flying fetal position 7 times now but only needed copious amounts of ibuprofen.

The clavicle certainly is a human crumple zone. You are certainly well versed in protecting yourself in a crash since you have all that experience under your belt. Enjoy and stay safe!

As a 40 year old my first EUC was a Nikola+, I fell on it and fractured my clavicle in three pieces. Once I had my surgery and recovered I bought a V13 "for safety" well that's what I told my wife :)
@AdamU101611 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear about your accident. The Nikola is a great wheel and can be hard to assimilate to as a first EUC. Those wobbles can be surprisingly scary. I know as I got wobbles too on my Nikola. I was initially discouraged so I mastered seated riding so that I had a backup plan should another wobble occur. My wheel after the Nikola is also the V13. It is an awesome wheel. Looks like we have much in common in our taste of wheels. I started the EUC as I was nearing 50 years old. Probably due to a mid life crisis. Lol. Now 8 years later I am still addicted to the wheel more than ever. Enjoy the V13 and have safe rides!

Great informative video! I had my collar bone xrayed after a nose-dive / cutout on a Onewheel XR back in 2019. I landed on my hands before my shoulder, but the collar bone area was so sore I thought for sure I had a fracture...luckily I had no fracture....just bloody meatball hands.

Thanks. That inflammatory reaction hours later can simulate a clavicular fracture. Glad to hear you did not fracture your clavicle. Hope your hands have healed well. Stay safe!

Clavicle huh? I gave a euc a try and had a tibia fracture. I had to jump off and I just thought my knee popped because I'm old and my body is falling apart. When the session was over my knee area was throbing I took a look and my knee area was a balloon 😆
@AdamU1016 Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you had a tibial plateau fracture. Conservative treatment or surgery?
@Drsoapenstein Жыл бұрын
@AdamU1016 No surgery, Incomplete Fx and some PT after my healing time. I was surprised how much fluid my bone pushed out had about 4 full large syringes drained. I was out of work about 3mo. which was great since it happened last September. I was able to be home for the holidays😆. It was my first time on a EUC. I was getting the hang of it near the end of the session riding with a unknown Fx. I'd like to give it another go, but I should wait a few yrs after I finish college. Hopefully I don't have another incident!
@AdamU1016 Жыл бұрын
@@Drsoapenstein That increased synovial fluid drainage is your body’s reaction to the traumatic event which is normal. Good to hear that conservative treatment was enough to put you on the road to recovery. Don’t rush to be a pro. The wheels now are so much faster compared to when I first started in 2015 where the max speed of my wheel was just under 12 mph. lol. Take your time to learn at slow speed. At higher speed more variables come into play and your mind and body are not yet ready for all that. Enjoy the chill ride for now. Good luck to you, gear up and ride safely!

@@AdamU1016 sent to get ct scan for knee had a mest up knee fracture rear tibia on crutches for 2 months could not wall, and xray of shoulder and literaly told me that i did not need surgery this comon within football players, yes i can rotate completly fine and lift weights, at the beggining it used like crackle sound alot but now seems to be normal, this was beggining of Jan this year, now the bump just feels wierd having it there, ive seen couple youtube videos and theres alot of people with the same bump explaining that it was normal, and surgery is sort of optional.
