To make it easy for people to get in and out of the jet, the body had to be very close to the ground. If you have a low-mounted wing, then the engine could not be under the wing. If you had a high-mounted wing, the wing box takes away valuable interior space, and thus that design cannot be used. If you have a low-mounted wing, and rear tail-mounted engines, the vibrations are transmitted into the body of the cabin, making it noisy. If you keep the engines near the tail, but you suspend them via pods that extend from the wing, then the fuel in the wings tends to absorb the engine vibrations, making the airplane very quiet.

It seems that if it moves people ,The arguably best way to do it is in a Honda. I remember the funny looking little motorcycles in the 60's then when everyone was going 2 stroke small Enduro and Dirt Bikes in the 70's, they had a 4 stroke that competed and won. Late 70's and 80's their car market share grew and grew because they built quality products that could go heads up against anyone, and win. The 90's and into the 21st century they never let up, oh yeah, those motorcycles that looked funny in 60's, by the 70's the road bikes were top of the line and from the time the Gold Wing was introduced, even a die hard Harley owner will give it it's due. Smooth, reliable, quality, thats Honda everything. I'm a Chevy truck guy, for the record, but the truth is the truth.

The Honda Jet is one of two most brilliant and innovative game changing aircraft to come in a very long time. The other being the Lilium Jet in the evtol sector. Honda Jet introduced an all new class to aviation, one that simply did not exist prior. A private business jet of its size that in many ways could not be if not for its brilliant layout. with its engines mounted above the winds and detached from the fuselage. Its quality aeronautics performance and price tag makes available a private business class jet to both the tapped and untapped market. Those who want to own but dont are not Bill gates rich. Businesses that want private air travel but also seek a more cost sensitive solution. The Honda Jet is open is most sectors of the aviation industry. so its extremely popular and sought after. and for those that need a bit more but also dont want to break the bank. Honda jet will undoubtedly expand its range with the Honda Jet 2600. which will put a huge dent in the market of larger private jets. Its coast to coast range, which includes intercontinental travel would see to many private operations opting for the sheer reduction in cost with such an aircraft, let alone its ability to be flown by a single pilot. greatly reducing operational cost and vastly increasing profits. With the success of the original Honda Jet and the game changer its been, one cant even begin to imagine what the 2600 will do to the industry as a whole.

Your statement belies your ignorance of aerospace. Firstly, over wing nacelles are not a honda invention, secondly there are several features not found on the H20 that are standard of the EA55. Lastly, the "EVTOL" is nothing more than a drone with the capacity to carry passengers and none are turbines. the term you are looking for is LJ which the H20 is, GA which is the sector the aircraft is part of, and regions of operation for which the thing is less than impressive for. A CJ gives you a larger cabin with better field performance, an Emb505 gives you better cruise speeds. The thing is almost on the numbers of VLJs and not comparative with proper LJs. Besides, have fun working on the thing.

8:00 The HondaJet ". . . now practically . . . dominate the market for small business jets. . . ." Sometimes there is hype, occasionally hyperbole, but this time it is just an outright lie. "In March 2019, Embraer delivered the 500th Phenom 300, claiming more than half of the light jet market share since 2012." Neither of these quotes include the approx. three hundred Phenom 100s delivered. HondaJet's 170 deliveries have a long way to go. I'm not comparing the airplanes. I like the HondaJets. I think the Cirrus SF-50 Vision is by far best in class sales leader but you would have to include the Gulfstream 200 Series and I think Embraer makes a "personal business jet" as well. HondaJet is *considered* the best because demand for the product continues to outstrip the supply they are able to produce and given high fuel and operating costs for all the other brands has A: gotten a hefty price increase for 2021 (only one reason for that) but just as importantly B: earning a strong reputation for service and support given the massive size of $hmc Honda Motor Corporation. Plus "made in the USA" doesn't hurt either. Not a good presentation of what is arguably best in class aviation as a product I would agree with that. Definitely competition as with this entire Sector against the current "bailout tycoon Airlines" which are obviously struggling with domestic flight issues at the moment let alone all the craziness internationally speaking because of the USA military withdrawal from Afghanistan.

I think you have that confused with that other Japanese auto company toyota. Yes Honda did build some reliable vehicles but along the line there has been many of there vehicles with some major problems. They only make 3rd on most list for reliability.

If Mitsubishi made a corporate Jet toyota would fly that too, because these firmas all work together to support each other while being competitors. Very Japanese, culture and heritage before greed. Meanwhile the US allowed a French company to sink the best & most historic corporate jet brand of all who created the industry, Lear.

Not an avid airplane buff myself, but after this video I’d relish having a Honda jet (alongside a de Havilland Mosquito, of course). Thanks for producing and posting this interesting video. I’ve picked up a few very interesting insights from the smart comments. Excellent!

I think I would opt for a Celera. I understand this Hondajet took 17 years to come to the market. I can't imagine any American company willing to wait so long for results and not fire the entire team.

Why as long as they are making progress and doing it right and safely that is the important part. Again it is Honda and not some John come lately look we built a plane. For a company to put this kind of effort into a project of this importance where safety is the goal this wasn't that long to get going.
@jasonmajere2165 Жыл бұрын
A ton more regulations, we don't need planes falling out of the sky. Everything is triple-checked and made redundant. Than it's year's to get faa permits.
@Gottenhimfella Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what's so clever about firing a team while they were coming up with a best selling product. There may have been a time when impatience and ignorance were not considered admirable traits in America. But I guess you'd have to go back a while...

The Winglets decrease wing wind turbulence and , the nose of the Honda Jet was designed after the nose of the Bottomnose Dolphin. The nose of the Dolphin is Hydrodynamically efficient in the water, the Jet's nose has a similar effect, good Aerodynamics.

1000lbs/h to transport only 7 people is fuel efficient? While there are airplanes that can compete with cars' efficiencies, this is definitely not one of them. The time savings must really be worth burning that much fuel.
@portnuefflyer2 жыл бұрын
It is... for the right person. Also, he said at "only" 360 knots cruise, the fuel burn drops to 500 pounds an hour.

"The time savings must really be worth burning that much fuel." That's about $320 to cover (approx) 420miles in 60mins, or $160 to do it in 70mins. So LA to Vegas would be around 40mins and $90 in fuel (plus whatever extra for takeoff, taxiing, waiting etc). The same trip in a mini-van would be around 4 hrs and $60. So yeah, $30 to save 7 people over 3 hrs. That's $10 per hour.
@DiscoFang2 жыл бұрын
* Current jet fuel price is around $700 per metric ton or $320 for 1000lbs. LA-Vegas by air is 228 miles; by road is 270 miles.
