Sadly Amanda you missed the point of Scott's journey as Santa. He is the perfect candidate. Santa must both know how to be humble and find joy in life but must also know when things are wrong and just necessarily bad actions. Otherwise you end up with a Santa that is far too nice to never have a naughty list or the toy Santa who out everyone on the naughty list. Scott was the middle ground, a balanced character and it makes sense to teach him this lesson year after year so he'll be the best Santa he can be. Also the suit wouldn't work on women. Would destroy the legend of Santa Claus
@keyblademasterclark Жыл бұрын
The Santa Clause is secretly a horror movie. Think about it. This guy is FORCED to become Father Christmas, abandon his family, his life, everything he knows to become a slave to the contract that he UNKNOWINGLY entered simply by putting on the suit. The elves don't really care that the previous Santa is dead, if anything they're annoyed they have to train this new guy, and in SC2 we find out that every Santa HAS to have a Mrs. Clause. What happened to the previous Mrs. Clause? What if the new Santa turns out to be gay? WHAT IF A KID PUTS ON THE SANTA SUIT? Seriously, that movie is fucked up if you think about it

The Santa Clause series is a nightmare wrapped up in Christmas tinsel trying to make it seem like a family movie.. and I love it. I've watched these every year since I was a kid. #1 is always the best

This whole review is spot on and made me remember things from my youth that I thought were fever dreams. Except for the tip that they should have timed it so they don't have a baby on Christmas - maybe Santa has some kind of special magic for that, but for the rest of us mere mortals, even when you try and plan it, it doesn't really work that way 😂

I’ve been waiting for someone, anyone, to roast the Santa Clauses show because I saw one episode and it was awful and I’m dying of curiosity but I don’t want to watch it and just seeing a mention of it here already warms my heart.

Why is this the point where I realize that the guy in Numbers was Bernard. I even watched that show pretty actively.

6:05 kind of the other way around. The show confirms this whole Santa Clause thing has happened a bunch of times and the previous Claus had only been SC since like the 1920s or something. It also addressed the question of the former Mrs Claus (she retired too)

The Santa Clause has always been my favorite Christmas movie as well, but the sequels….. 😅 So glad you covered this! lol. Happy holidays, Amanda, hope they’ve been wonderful so far 💚

I like the first two Santa Clauses I find them cute and heartwarming. The 3rd one I find crazy I don’t think Scott would have been a absentee Dad without Santa it’s to farfetched
@JohnWilliams-wl9px Жыл бұрын
Based of how distant Scott was in the first movie, it’s was not a malicious thing. Charlie really doesn’t like his dad that much in the first film, until he became Santa. Cause then Scott was spending more time with him. I think the idea was suppose to be a ‘cat and the cradle’. Charlie simply got more distant as he got older, Scott just dismissed as he was too busy to notice how big the divide got. Really shows how much missed potential the 3rd film had with the alternate timeline that only 15 minutes.
@mariaskabardonis8353 Жыл бұрын
@@JohnWilliams-wl9px I didn’t see Scott as absentee in the first movie he was trying to include Charlie as much as possible. It was just hard cause of his job and the remarriage was new and they were trying to find the new dynamic. I don’t believe Charlie didn’t like the Dad he just prefered the mom and Neal cause he was seeing them more. Scott was a workaholic but I don’t believe he would completely neglect Charlie it was to much of an exaggeration. I do agree if they made the what if longer they could have explained things better

It took you mentioning the tv series like 5 times for it to register in my head that they made a series

I recently explained to my (monolingual) parents that this movie’s title is a pun. It could have been translated to German but wasn’t. And it’s crazy how many jokes and wordplays I catch nowadays when I’m genuinely fluent in English.

I’m just picturing them evicting the former Mrs. Claus 😂 also, is toy Scott just… low key bad AI?

While I agree with all your points in retrospect, SC3 was and still is my favorite of the 3 movies. Part of it being because I was 9 when it came out on dvd and I saw it. Another reason is probably due to my parents getting divorced when I was 6, so I didn't find the first movie as fun as 2 and 3 to watch due to the focus on divorce. Plus the council was one of my favorite additions. 2 isn't as good as 3 for me because I didn't like the toy Santa at all. Jack and Lucy are also a big part of why I liked 3 the most. Jack is funny and mischievous, while Lucy felt the most similar to me being a happy and optimistic person with a similar vibe of annoying I had at the time.

I searched for The Santa Clause 3 hoping a video like this would come up and it didn't. Then it was recommended on my main page the next day. What is this algorithm ahaha Anyway this is exactly what I was looking for this Christmas, wonderful video, I love you (no parasomo), and Merry Christmas!

This was one of my favorite Christmas movies as a kid I can't lie. I also thought the "North Pole" song was an original so the first time I heard New York, New York I thought it was a parody

I love what Nostalgia Critic said about Martin Sheens performance: "Am I David Tennanting this or Michael Sheening this." Not just for this performance, ALL of them!

REQUEST: Would you ever cover the Christmas movie "Scrooged" with Bill Murray? I know it's out of the realm of most of the movies and books that you cover but there's a good lesson in it. A few of them in fact.

Thank you so much for the Recess name drop, made me so happy :3

“I get more out of a twenty minute Recess episode than this!” Okay, but that’s not fair, because Recess is pretty boss. I remember loving that as a kid, and I did just throw on a random episode the other day, and it was as good as I remember it being back in the 90’s.

@amandathejedi no lie, the Easter Bunny was a true TRAUMATIC EVENT for me as a child. Also not super sure if you remember me, but I'm D3TOX's little brother? We used to pay COD back in the day with Bobby, Josh, and Bella? Anyway, I really love how far your KZbin career has come over the years and you're one of my girlfriend's favorite creators! Also hope you're having a fantastic holiday season!

My personal favorite Santa hat is the Groku Claus one that used to be popular in dollar stores a couple years ago. Edit: if you say barely an inconvenience three times in this episode, does Ryan George pop out as both producer guy and screenwriter guy?
