Why is the US leading calls for political change in Lebanon? | Inside Story

Lebanon is again under attack as Israel wages war against the country's dominant political and military force - Hezbollah. Although its primary target is the armed group, Israel's attacks have been indiscriminate, killing civilians and medical workers just as it has done in Gaza.
But the conflict is also bringing pressure to change Lebanon's fragmented political system.
So who is looking for this political change - and what might it mean?

All sides in the conflict: Israel, Iran, Hezbollah , don't want any president in Lebanon for the time being, It is easier for Israel to incursion with the country without president, no clear Administration, no one to deal with. Iran and Hezbollah both are not concentrate in this area, they need to re organize their own force more than the Lebanon government. Therefore, no one need president in Lebanon now.

Because they wanted to help Palestinians oppressed by Israel for over 60 years. They only wanted to press Israel to establish a peace treaty with Hamas (one that would either establish two states and a ceasefire or one state with equal rights for Palestinians and Israelis plus a ceasefire). If Israel reached an agreement with Hamas, they both accepted that Hezbollah would stop fighting Israel as long as Israel also stopped fighting them.
