Why is the West Questioning India's Achievements? | Vantage with Palki Sharma
India has become the first country to land on the south pole of the moon. This was a significant achievement for both India and the world.
But why is the West so bitter? Why are they busy hatching conspiracy theories and questioning India's moon landing?
Palki Sharma tells you.

Here we go again. Media spreading morbid negativity and hate. Generalizing millions of (the west) good people based on one or two opinions. Bill Nelson, the NASAs President, congratulated India personally on this achievement. The UK Space Agency quoted: "History made! Congratulations to ISRO". Josef Aschbacher, the director general of the European Space Agency, described the landing of Chandrayaan-3 as an “incredible” event. Almost every american news outlet reported about the landing and described it as a significant achivement. Why did you not report on that? Shouldnt you be obligated as a journalist to produce a balanced report?

@limbate29 Thank you to our friend from Africa....you are learned man, a man of wisdom & high intelligence....thank you for your kind words of praise for India.... However, over the next 5 yrs, we'll be hearing more & more about Africa's rapid development....with its abundance of natural resources ( minerals, metals etc ), fdi in manufacturing , agri industry , tourism etc will pour in on a huge scale, especially from USA & this will be a catalyst for rapid progress....with relatively low wages, Africa would likely become a manufacturing hub for supplies to the Western markets in competition with India....This is the era for India & Africa to rise & shiw to the what they are capable...both should avoid internal & external conflicts.. be united & give a single- minded focus the developmental needs of their respective nations....Africa is now ready for take- off.... Hey, the figure of 45 trillion dollars was calculated by a Marxist economist named UTSA Patnaik, using a flawed methodology of compounding the loot taken by the British with a 5% interest rate. This method is inaccurate as the inflation rate in the 1950s was around 3.68%. Additionally, Patnaik arrived at a figure of 9 trillion pounds using this flawed method, which was then converted to dollars by multiplying it with 4.68. You can find these details in her article. Furthermore, Patnaik made an exaggerated claim that the British killed 1.8 billion people in India, which is obviously false. It's puzzling that channels like Vice and Wion omitted her outrageous claim of genocide. Unfortunately, spreading lies and misinformation is not uncommon in India. For instance, some stories claim that the Vikramaditya Empire controlled 40% of the world's land, or that India had airplanes 7000 years ago during the Vedic period. These are clearly baseless claims. There is also a story that Shivakar Talpade invented the airplane 8 years before the Wright Brothers, but that the British stole his idea and gave it to the Wright Brothers. India needs to stop perpetuating such false claims.

What's so inspiring about it? People been doing stuff like that for more than half a century... to do it with today's technology just isn't quite as impressive today as when countries did it before the digital age. Its still cool that india is successfully doing their own space program and its something they should continue to do, but its pretty much a nothing burger, as the kids say these days, when it comes to pushing the envelope and scientific achievement. And what does being a black american assigned male at birth individual matter in the context of india's scientific achievement? Focus on what's important, not what the woke leftists want us to... cause it sounds like they're controlling you

As a Sri Lankan, I cannot be proud enough for our Northern neighbour for their remarkable and unmatched feat of landing on moon's South Pole.. As the astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson explained, the crators on moon's South Pole have been perpetually shadowed from sunlight, thereby increasing the chance of meteorological water surviving in their depths. I sincerely wish Pragyan rover will stumble upon this water, which could be used in future as a rocket fuel to launch spacecrafts from moon into further destinations. The credit of this discovery paving way to an important milsestone in human history will belong first and foremost to India!!q

His all other activities are chronie capitalistic!! We do need leaders who are more in line with free market capitalism. However, as to foreign relations I wish Sri Lanka maintained its former non-aligned attitude with friendly relationships with everybody.. Really??? So the entire west is questioning India's space program? How do we know this? Because of a single comic in the middle of a random paper that expresses nothing but that one authors view & a couple of angry men, that's how. Talk about desperate, I've never heard of such biased reporting before? How in the hell does anyone take this crap seriously? This is just a beat up and certainly not even close to newsworthy in any way shape or form. I mean this is the saddest reporting I've ever seen, I can't believe anyone with a thinking mind would buy into this? Unless this was already their mindset all along so it doesn't matter if it's true or not. This really is your version of the truth and it's just as ugly if not worse than what your patch work of plucked truths tried to stitch together into a story. 3 stupid people does not mean another 2-3 billion others think the same as they do. I shouldn't even have to post this as it's just so damed obvious. Is this the official Indian anti west hate channel? How sad..

Congratulations to India from the USA 🇺🇸. What a great achievement. May your country continue to thrive 🎉. Some people here are assuming that we in the west are jealous or mad or bitter that India and other nations have reached space and landed on the moon. We aren’t. We don’t obsess over being better than other nations. I think that’s a stereotype about the everyday American. Believe me when I say we have way too much stuff going on internally to beat our chests and point at other nations. Our government might but our government sucks. In 2016 we elected Mango Mussolini. And in 2020 we elected a corpse. Trust me when I say we are way too busy cleaning up our own messes currently like trying to find a damn job in this market or worrying if Canada will invade (that one’s a joke 😂)

I applied the same approach as used in the 45 trillion calculation to the investment done by British before 1850s. The estimate of 200 million pounds sterling as the total investment in infrastructure by the British government in India up to the mid-19th century is based on various historical records and estimates. It's worth noting that there is some degree of uncertainty around this figure due to a lack of comprehensive records from the period. That being said, one source that provides an estimate of the British investment in India's infrastructure is the book "The Economic History of India, 1857-1947" by Tirthankar Roy. According to the book, the British invested around 200 million pounds sterling in Indian infrastructure up to the mid-19th century, including the construction of roads, canals, and railways. Another source that supports this estimate is a report by the Indian government's Planning Commission, titled "India's Five Year Plans: An Overview". The report mentions that the British invested around 200 million pounds sterling in India's infrastructure up to the mid-19th century.Using compound interest formula A = P*(1+r/n)^(nt) putting A= 0.2 billion pound, n = once per year (conservative!) and 0.05 interest (as per the India calculation and t=223 years Putting into Microsoft Excel (other spreadsheets are available) tells me that: 10622.914 billion i.e 10 trillion sterling was invested in India which can be converted to dollar by multiplying with 4.68 as done by Patnaik which shows that British invested 46 trillion dollars in India. Now you might have understood how Patnaik lied about it. The way Patnaik calculated it is through a false method.

So, I did a little bit of research on this british 'aid' to India. And here's the details that nobody is going to tell you. 1. the primary reason british provided aid were because they are a signatory member of some UN treaty that they signed back in the 1970s, which mandates them to provide .8% of their GDP to the developing countries...funfact: they never met that target, they were running on close to 0.5% at most 2. India did receive the lion's share of UK's aid(~20%) for a long time up until 2011, we can guess those were given primarily because India was the only developing nations that brits saw that their aid is going to have some positive results from in terms of bipartisan relationship in trades (and also and I am assuming here- out of the colonial era guilt and their tendency to act as a superior being to everybody), 3. 2011 was the year when Indian govt specifically mentioned to the UK govt that they don't need the aid anymore, and it is when their aid began to come down as a result, but it was not before 2015 when they finally stopped giving aid to the Indian govt. 4. from 2015 onwards, the so-called aid are basically sent out as form of investments, kind of like what softbank does, so out of that 2.3 B of aid between 2015-21, 1B were given to different infrastructure bonds, banks, bank bonds etc to see some sort of return of investment, another 700m were given to different NGOs(and we all know these are either to run propaganda, assert influence or sometimes even spying, but again this is my assumption) and 400m were to govt affiliated organizations. So, there you go. Even the british watchdogs know these aids are nothing but peanuts for India and India actually runs its own foreign aid program which actually provides more aids to the world than it receives.

@@darthvadeth6290 Please remember, love and hatred does not required a smartphone to spread but it completely depends the will of people. So even if they cannot see this comment section, we Indians always believe if someone is behaving badly to us for a noble cause then more people appreciate the cause and are willing to show love. For your information, in 2022 India had 48.7% of smartphone users which is the second largest in the world behind China. And it is estimated to reach 70-80 percent by 2030 thanks to many new initiatives by the government. Also 2 dollars a day is a complete misinformation which is not expected from a smartphone bearer like you. Average income in India as per 2022 statistics was 422.03 dollars per month which makes it 14.067 dollars per day. And a family with four requires 334.3 dollars per month as monthly expenses in India which is 11.14 dollars. And I can guarantee this number is now elevated hugely.
