@@rajrocks32 I don't think India is necessarily overpopulated, we have a population density of 411 people per sq. km. There are many countries that are far denser than us, such as South Korea (516), Taiwan (652), Maldives (1257), Malta (1633), Bahrain (1982), Singapore (7894) and Hong Kong (6781). But you don't feel crowded when you visit any of those countries, and that's because they do an excellent job at city planning, resource conservation and environmental recycling. India could also be like them if only we followed their example. The rest of your comment is true, although I feel our nationalism is pretty justified, we're literally surrounded by two hostile nuclear powers that have frequently invaded us and sponsored terrorism in our country. Plus one of our bellicose neighbors is well on its way to becoming a global superpower, that's a scary thought for many people and that results in the rise of nationalistic sentiments.

Trevor suggests that colonization is the process of making others become like you? So the British belief in honest judges that cannot be bribed and who support the rule of law for all and the presumption of innocence are somehow bad things? After all, I have heard some immigrants to Toronto suggesting they actually PREFER dealing with white authorities since the authorities back home would treat you either well or badly based on which TRIBE you belonged to rather than considering the logic or justice! Colonialism of any sort is not pretty, but the British version did more to bring civil rights to the public than any other system! As example - we can consider The Sudan where slavery was a national institution that was ended by the British! And of course once Sudan got its independence, SLAVERY RESUMED THERE! Even worse, slavery in Sudan now includes the FORCED harvesting of organs for transplant with the organs sold to wealthy citizens in third world countries! Such wonderful progress!
@taniaferg58393 жыл бұрын
@@abellseaman4114 I’m not Indian and have no legal training. However, I would hazard a guess that British judges still get bribed and that Indian laws forbid bribery. What happens behind closed doors is called life. You learn to navigate it or get run over. No system of governance is pretty when people in power take advantage of the powerless or influence vulnerable minds to act against their best interest. Case in point, recent events on the Capitol. Your points aren’t very well thought out and I don’t have the luxury of time to comment on everything you stated in your response to my comment on Mr. Noah’s brand of comedy. I wish you a good life.

And the railroads, trains, and tea industries weren’t developed FOR the Indians, but rather for the British. Let’s not even begin with the economic ramifications of British colonization. India’s local industries shrunk, its people went into deep poverty, and suffered from many famines. Around 45 trillion went out from India, and onto the hands of the British as the people starved.The notion that Britain somehow improved India for the Indians and not for their own selfish reasons is quite absurd. Stone cold fact is that a lot of influental people of India (which back then was more of a group of different kingdoms) enjoyed British presence in the sense that they wanted their help against other groups in India. Absolutely! The saga of how the British took over India is a wild ride through history. I remember reading about it in school and being fascinated by the mix of strategy and sheer audacity involved. It’s like a lesson in how humor can sometimes lighten even the heaviest topics. After all, navigating complex histories requires a sense of humor! If only those colonizers had attended the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, they might have realized the value of genuine connections over power. In the end, finding humor in history helps us understand and appreciate our shared humanity. Keep laughing and learning!
