I feel that, like other details in the game, this golem is part of Elden Ring's enormous trove of cut content and quests. I wouldn't be surprised that there were more things down there (and an easier way to reach it) at some point

The full story of this golem is actually there It was enhanced with sellia's magic so it creates 3 portals that shoot lasers... As we know sellians did use portal sorceries since they make boulders appear out of magic portals and they made a spell that creates a portal to suck in all magic The golem was placed guard for the medallion as you said But then the descendants of the ancient dragons started making their appearance and specifically the very first one greyl... Young Greyl then tried to nest outside of Fort faroth to give birth but the golem probably wasn't really happy about it... in their fight greyl defeated the golem by flying and knocking it off the cliff Yet that absolute unite of a golem survived but was now trapped there since it was too heavy to climb... And so there it is lying on its back without a purpose for centuries as old as greyl herself So if anything it's a good thing we kill it its a mercy kill at this point

Greyll and Greyoll are two different dragons. I'm guessing you mean Greyoll since that's the one we find near Fort Faroth sourrounded by her "babies" Also, Greyll is the dragon on the bridge near the Bestial Sanctum

I think a geological explanation could be made. Notice all across the lands between are massive sheer cliffs and gargantuan stone structures wrecked and turned upside down. I believe a massive earth splitting quake occurred at some point in history. The golem was standing guard near the castle, but then the quake sheered a massive portion of earth downward, separating the golem from his post. He could not go up nor down, so he laid in defeat.

Those stone structures are from the air, not from underground they’re remnants of either Farum Azula or another place from the age of dragons.

I would argue that the devastation is a combination of Melenia's rot causing Radahn to gravity bomb the whole region.

Greyoll, that big dragon, split caelid in half to protect the other half from Malenia´s rot and so made Greyolls Dragonbarrow. I think that caused the golem to drop, seeing as he is exactly on the line. The other two golems that shoot magic arrows may have fallen in the crack and walked towards the colosseum of the pot. Gravity seems to be a golems worst enemy, as they also appear to have fallen off the bridge towards Godricks divine tower.

To be honest, I'm more curious on the Painter. Who were they? Why do the sites of their paintings have such prizes waiting for the player to discover. How the hell did they even get to these places? Hell, what's the timeline of his works? Were they made before or after the Shattering?

Nice theory, but the game tells us that the golems are from sellia, and sellia is a domain of radahn. If you mean to contain radahn once he lost his wits, well radahn was cursed to wander yo dunes forever anyways so he is stuck down there

It's funny how Jeremy soule's soundscape instantly changes the whole vibe. Can easily picture these soundscapes being used for Altus plateau liurnia exploration suite, but at the same time you know that it won't quite fit right although great by itself.. Amazing OST and soundscapes for all the Soulsborne series. Sekiro and Elden Ring kick it up a notch.

The Fire Giants are nearly dead, so a bunch of enemies moving into the mountains that are no longer defended by them makes sense.

He was one of the last “mini bosses” I fought to end my 240 hr play through. I died fighting him so many times. What I figured out is take a bow and get back in the far corner away from him and shoot his wrists. They are weak points and his chest. He will only walk so far towards that corner, and will then back off. Just don’t shoot at him when he starts backing off. Let him back off and then start shooting again. I left a message there on where to stand.

the Calied painting spot is also located on that place, its on the opposite side of the golem, and to those who dont want to fight it but 'accidently' woke it up try using the pillar on the far end to block its line of sight but dont stand too close to the pillar cause his attacks can clip through it, with a little time you can open the map and teleport out, or if you have a sacrificial twig equipped you can just jump off the edge or try your luck in defeating it

I think enemies like this are deliberate Trolls by FromSoft. A similar one os the Crucible Knight in Nokron when you go through the Four Belfries Portal. It looks designed for a boss-esuq 1v1. It's hard. It requires you to go through the Portal everytime to fight it. It's standing there waiting for you to come at him. And there's no reward for doing it lol. Just a small amount of Runes.

That Golem is guarding an Artist location. I really wished there was at least a dungeon or a special item drop from the enemy as well.

You can use the telescope item to turn Torrent without actually having to turn him! Be sure to reactivate the telescope to stop, however, as pressing B will dash torrent off the cliff you are inevitably trying to avoid.

I think that these 3 magic golems were once part of Sellia's military, and when the war between Malenia and Radahn started they were driven away with the 2 bow golems taking refugee at the great jar, while the halberd golem fought untill he was cornered at a cliff and fell. Also i think these golems weren't only Sellia's military, they were placed together in an elite team to be the strongest of the town's protectors, with the halberd golem being the commander of this small but yet ferocious group, and the 2 bow ones being commandos.

I'm still convinced that he has a small chance of dropping a Golem's Magic Halberd Weapon that has the beam attack as an Ash of War. If the Magic Golems by the Great Jar can drop Magic Giant Arrows, this guy should drop something too.

I think its just a hidden enemy that was made and placed there just to be a little treat or surprise to whoever comes across him. He was made to be a challenging surprise for explorers. Thats why he's unique and has a different way of fighting using sorcery. I like your video though I like to think about an in-game explanation being something like what you said. I think that's a great explanation.

Maybe during the old time before Farum Azula was destroyed the Dragon and the Nox was allies the Dragon let the Nox experiment with their dead kin so they can produce Dragonkin as Nox Gatekeeper in return the teach them how to construct a Golems and the pinnacle of all Golems is this thing.... Golem that can use sorcery. Selia is the only part of Nokron that survived in the surface. the trace of Nox sorceries still linger in Selia. The Selian can retrofit the Golems for the beastmen.

Maybe all the golems were at one point just this great at what they do but over time they started to use up their energy defending what they've been defending and their cores lost power or somethin'. Meanwhile this guy's just been sleeping on the job the entire time saving that sweet energy.
