Make sure to file a complaint with NHTSA. It’s the only way to get an investigation started and force a recall. It’s obvious this problem is super common and one that should not be happening. The dealership quoted me $2,600 to fix my son’s car. 2013 Honda Accord Sport with just over 80k miles. He’s a college student and travels the highway to come home to visit, so not fixing it isn’t an option. Always one step forward, two steps back.

Exactly right. Why not a recall. I had mine randomly go out twice on a 2010 accord on the road. Had the master cylinder changed and a few weeks later, it went out again. How it doesn’t fail and allow the car to still brake is astonishing.

Hi, hopefully you or someone else comments back, please…. I am at my wits end with this 2017 Acura ILX I started having all the lights come on the dash months ago and after googling I did the first step of replacing ALL wheel speed sensors - problem continued (oh at first problem was intermittent).. That did not fix the problem and the test you can get at the auto parts still shows problems / low voltage ABS module and two front speed sensor issues. I checked speed sensors and verified no debris or blockages are in the speed sensor holes and put back in…. Problem continues… Then I found this post and others about the Module being bad (often) in all Hondas and Acuras like this so I found a place to do the rebuild and ordered the service. Before I had a chance to take it out and send it, the car started engaging the ABS system for no reason when I was trying to stop and scared the crap outta me! I immediately got out and unplugged the wiring harness from the ABS module near where the module also connects to the pump and car drove then fine and I was able to pull out module and ship it… I was excited to get it back because I so want the lights to go off and just NOT needle at my ego anymore after months of messing with it! I unhooked the battery and carefully put the rebuilt module back in the car and put everything back together and hooked up the battery. However, I am once again at a loss and all the lights are still on!!! Is there some type of reset I missed that I need to do? I was under impression I would not need to with this year Acura ILX because I was putting back in the original part that had just been rebuilt…. Please help? I am extremely frustrated and am like “what now!!!”! Thank you!

(Still does) and I did an eBay AbS vsc brake module repair service, new battery, clean terminals, took apart display unit and new alternator. Still resets like 6 times a drive and gets worse on backing up.

Hang on I'm confused, if it beeps then you have continuity which means good connection, if it dont bleep then you have bad connection.

When I removed the module on my Accord the motor contacts prongs came out with it. I have read that you should reinstall them into the abs motor side first and then reinstall the module so the prongs don’t bend and make contact. Do you have a video of reinstall of a module?

It looks like when you're testing it with the Meter, you're testing continuity (resistance) and it's going from Open (OL infinite resistance) to almost a Short 0.0 when you're touching them. Is that what you mean by broken? Shorting out? Broken to me usually means it's open and the resistance would be infinite. I'm having the ABS lights go on with my Honda and I'll probably be replacing the module as well. Thanks for the replacement video.

@@RBTheMechanicif it was open there wouldn’t be any continuity and the meter would not tone. You would need to test each solenoid until the meter stays at OL meaning there is no continuity and a broken wire.

Anyone having issues with 2018 and newer accord? I have 2018 2.0t accord and randomly i get power steering light, usually when i am turning into a parking spot or coming out of it and then it disappears instantly. Also, when i brake really quick and hard, dashboard and central screen kinda shut down for a moment.

Yes the broken wires inside might make contact and then brake off again with jumps and pot holes scan the car

I can't find one with the same numbers as mine. However can find one from the same year and model. If the numbers aren't the same is it still plug and play? Im being told it has to be programmed and bled by Midas. I'm having Midas fix mine. However I really want to know if they are plug and play even if they don't share the same numbers but are off the same year and model.

The problem I have rn is that I use my car for a living. I can't have my car down for days on end while I'm getting mine rebuilt. So that's why I'm asking. If I put one from the same year and model in would it work until I get mine back from being rebuilt? It would save me a ton of money if I could find the answer to this question. So i try to resolder it myself but no luck, the contacts are just too small and the solder i have is way too thick. I ended up finding a geek in philly who repairs phones and playstations. I sent him the part, he did the work and he just shipped it back to me. Charged me $50 plus shipping lets see if it works. I will keep you posted.

Looking at their board design and the fact that they need to connect two circuit boards together, that is VERY POOR engineering on Honda's part or whoever manufactured the circuit boards! This should definitely be recalled! People paying over $2500 for a manufacturing defect is ridiculous! I would have used male header pins on one board and the female counterpart on the other board to interconnect the two OR ribbon style cable with with connectors on each board. I'm guessing the broken connections occur due to vibration after time putting stress on the under guaged jumper wires and lack of vibration dampening on the boards and to box.

Your use of continuity checking does not prove bad. You, sir, have no clue. A continuity check verifies that the connection is good when it beaps. A bad continuity check would result in no beap and the screen reading OL for open loop.
