Great video, Mark. I couldn't agree more with what you said about the comfort and "roundness" feel of the string - I don't think it's easy to spot the rough texture without taking a closer look. I find really interesting, considering its characteristics (low power response, somewhat of a deader feel), the level of comfort that rpm blast provides. Also, in my experience, this string could be strung at lower tensions than the usual poly, without sacrificing its control oriented characteristics (for exemple, while I enjoy playing with YPTP at 54-55 lbs, with rpm blast I can go down as much as 48). Keep up with the great job, Mark! Your videos are getting better and better every time.

+Mark Sansait Not sure if you tried at too high of a tension or what but I disagree the spin of this string is amazing and control is awesome. I've never been able to find a string that plays anything like Blast, it outspins anything with the most snapback ever. 16 or 15L provide the most spin as you can really hit the ball big without flying, and 15L is the slickest spinniest version. Only problem with it is its harsh on the body and after a few hours spin decreases significantly, I assume cause it starts losing some of the slick coating.

If not there would be no reason to even watch these reviews and everyone would just use the same string. As with anything, price is never linear. Marketing alone, in todays world is not enough to make the consumer buy something and thus price is a function of the demand and also the quality of a product: It might not be twice as good as another string but many would pay for the good quality and the consistency it brings.

I agree, but some people like that feel (or lack of). Maybe trying lower tensions could also help to mitigate this sensation.
@matturrutia16794 жыл бұрын
What Poly do you recommend? RPM blast is prolly one of my favorite polys for its feel actually hahaha. I used to play with Solinco hyper G and tour bite but the feel isn’t as plush and tour bite’s tension maintenance is atrocious.

I prefer round poly strings because of consistent response and control. Too much rough or weird shape wouldn't work that well for me. Also discovered your channel from Ian as well. Interesting review technique and nice use of words. Look forward to see more of your content, and if you are in bay area would love to hit with you as well. :D

Round polys are definitely more consistent, softer, and better durability IMO. Thanks for coming to watch. And yes, im a LITTLE bit less professional than Essential Tennis when it comes to choice of words. I can't wait to visit Cali!

I’m not a fan of the string. Really low power and the spin potential isn’t even close to the Solinco Hyper-G. Overrated in my opinion but respect your review.

@@Bensway7 I’ve heard if you do Rafa’s routine of touching your nose and picking your butt before every serve you can hit as hard as him. You should give it a go! Haha, in all seriousness, the 8 sided poly didn’t catch the ball for me as much as the Hyper-G. That’s all I really meant.
@Bensway74 жыл бұрын
@@rajkapoor2652 agreed definately need some sort of routine for a serve, if you just go to tennis court like into potatoe field just swing racquet without any preparation you will not make greatest serve, you definately need to find something for yourself

I enjoy enjoy the review but, if you didn't care, you wouldn't post this. "Professional" ruins every sport. The enjoyment and the workout. The later is only for money. (I do really enjoy the social media consumerism in the background. From the corner LED light to the cityscape prints. ;) You don't need to classify your videos at the start) [Rough is for more spin, but it isn't great. Do the new RPM Power or whatever the hell they call it. Blast Spin Power. It's a thrill a minute in Orange.

Its was popular back in the day due to lack of competition, but not anymore from the sales stand point. Way too overpriced and loses tension very soon after hitting . Its the most marketed and overhyped string. (coming from user of rpm-blast & 20 other brands - @tennis nerd).

Seriously. This string has zero feel, its stiff as fuck and jars the arm at every hit, Maybe I’m too used to using natural gut in the mains, I do string up in the high 50’s / low 60’s RPM blast is prob the worst string I’ve ever used.
@MarkSansait4 жыл бұрын
And possibly the most expensive you have ever used!
@a2casius3 жыл бұрын
RPM Blast also killed my arm when I strung it in the mid 50s .... I went back to it in the mid to low 40s and it was a completely different experience and has become one of my favourite strings, with no arm issues. IMHO, polys should never be strung in the 50s. The damage it does to your elbow tendons at that tension is cumulative.
@rolandharris27063 жыл бұрын
This string sucks. Feels like a brick. Buy yonex poly tour instead. Hell string it with yarn instead. Anything is better than this stuff. I will give good marks on durability tho.
