Accidentally bought a reel of Isospeed Spin + Speed 17 from TW, meaning to order Baseline Control. I cant speak to the durability yet. However, strung up my Pure Aero VS 2020 @ 50 # mains, 48’s crosses and it is amazing. It was a PLEASURE to string up, so smooth and super easy to weave. Got it out on the court and was blown away with the spin, power, control, and feel. I can’t say thank you enough for the recommendation Mark. After realizing my folly, I ordered Control and can’t wait to try it out as well.

Strung up Baseline control today on my second Bab PAVS for my ladder match. As the BLC is 16 gauge vs the S+s 17, I strung a slightly lower. Comfort seemed noticeably better than the S+s and improved pocketing. Spin was great, had some really good shape on my topspin forehands. Super consistent and predictable string. Will comment on durability vs S+s as they age. Again, thanks for the recommendation!

Mark thanks, I just bought a reel! I strung one of my RF 97 with Isospeed Baseline Control and I strung the other with RPM blast. Played two matches with one set of each racket and I would have to agree the Isospeed is so much more comfortable and it does everything that the RPM blast does. Good power, basically does everything well at a great price. To the the tennis world out there, no need to look further for a string! Have you changed rackets from the Yonex Ezone 98 to a Head Radical? I think I saw on one of your reviews that you were getting some arm pains playing with the Yonex? Why not try the 2015 Yonex DR98 (310g) they really popular still in 2021 for a reason. It has great reviews, the frame is plush. The Hyper G is a perfect string for the DR 98 and it can handle the stiffest of Polys. Hope you give it a try, like I tried the Isospeed. Great review thanks again I have my go to string!

From a non string breaker, ive used the 15L gauge one for a while, and personally I feel like tension maintenance is somewhat similar to the likes of alu power, but the difference isn't drastic, and playability is good. Please try wilson revolve (white) 16g mains with gamma glide 16g crosses; m: 49 c: 47. And please try to relax more and hit at 80% power (except for when your opponent sets you up for a kill shot; then destroy the ball with 100% power). If you don't like Wilson revolve, please consider testing another round/75% stiff poly string in the mains (a non-shaped poly; round poly). Pretty please. I'm very interested in what you think. I've been using this setup in my 1980's snauwaert fiber composite II racquet. M: 46 C: 44 for about 3 years now. But I want to switch to something more stiff so that when I finally decide on a good power racquet, I will have better odds because my stiff poly main string is control oriented enough to handle my immense pace. A man is known by his methods. You are a man who is eager to be aggressive in order to hit a winner. I am a man who wants to keep the rally going as long as possible, in order to rely on my opponents error. You also hit your groundstrokes when they are below the 26" height area, this is the same as you gifting your opponent w/ extra momentum, when you should be neutralizing the pace for both of you and starting over building fresh momentum altogether. Please become more patient and stop yourself, we are creatures of habit, those habits carry over into match play. Btw, attempting to hit a slap shot without the prerequisite of generating enough momentum (4-6 smooth high octane shots) is folly. All it does is waste your energy kinda like a desperate/impatient pornstar who blows his load way to early. Your so smart and informed to be such an impatient ball striker. I will use this string that you recommended just because of your play style and your experience. I'm fully addicted to your videos. They are all amazing. Can you recommend a tension to string to for this string? I am clueless when it when it comes to strings and tensions. When I demo a different racket and really like it, I never know how much credit to give to the racket itself vs. the string and tension. I have a Wilson RF97 that I like and the older Wilson Pro Staff SixOne 95. I try different tensions, and have been using cheap Golden Set strings from Canada or California, I think. But, I am not sure I am savvy enough to notice much difference when I change tensions..usually between 52 lbs and 55 lbs. During a match with a friend once I broke a string and had to borrow my friend's back-up racket to finish the match. It happened to be a Head Graphene Extreme Pro, and it was strung with a metallic gray colored Co-Poly (I think) of some kind, but I remember loving the feel, the power, and the control I was getting. So! I've been playtesting the Isospeed Baseline Speed which is the 1.25 of this string since I don't break strings often and because I enjoy a bit more feel out of my stringbed. The polys I use are always 1.25 gauge. I've strung this at 55lbs in a Head Prestige Pro 2019 (now called Tour, 16x19) beefed up with lead. I'm a 4.5 player. Spin is awesome, you feel the ball being grabbed (as you would probably say, Mark : just like Donald Trump's pussies), great connection to the ball. I could play crazy angles with confidence especially in doubles play. Great feel on volleys, good ball pocketing but crisp enough so you can feel the ball. Groundstrokes are great. Not that powerful to me but as I've been playtesting so many polys these days, I feel like this string is a bit lighter so it might juste be that my racquet has less swingweight with this string in it. Tension maintenance seems consistent. I would definitely use this string in tournaments. Thank you Mark for all the great reviews and your entertaining personnality. Greetings from Montreal, Canada!

How would you compare the tension maintenance to other strings? I'm thinking about switching from Solinco Revolution to this thanks to you. I've used RPM Blast before so I could use that as another reference point.
@MarkSansait3 жыл бұрын
From what other people told me, that tension maintenance is not nearly as good as something like Babolat RPM Blast... But based on my personal experience and video, tension maintenance is not a problem because I break strings frequently.

Awesome Discovery Mark...How stiff (arm friendly) is this string w.r.t cyclone, confidential, Hyper-G ? What is your recommended tension for rackets with flex < 60, 62-67 and 68+ ?
@MarkSansait3 жыл бұрын
Its softer than Volkl Cyclone, Solinco Confidential, and Solinco Hyper G in my opinion. As for the recommended tension, I always suggest doing the lowest end of the tension range for any polyester. But for me personally, I string all my playtest rackets at 55lbs. I am using a Yonex EZone 98 (2020) for these playtest.

@@Abe-Lau you know what, I like it, I've always used expensive Luxilon Alu power rough and to be honest... My game wasn't any different with the Isospeed, if anything I had a little more feel and ball pocketing, only downside is that it dropped off its peak performance quite quickly compared to the alu power, which is renowned for longevity. I'll keep stringing with it until I run out, Mark has saved me over £100 already with his advice. I think I'll always keep a reel on stock but my love for alu power rough will always be there. Definitely worth a try and you won't be disappointed, it is a good string, no doubts about it. 👍🏻

I've heard so, too. Only Babolat, Luxillon - bought by Wilson recently, Isospeed make their own strings. Maybe one or two more brands I forget right now. Most of tennis strings are made in ONE Factory in Taiwan. Brands give them some specs and they make them for them. Then, it's rebranding and selling.

Hi Mark, Thanks for the awesome review for this string and all funny stuff about Babolat strings. I'll try my best to find it somewhere but I think after your review its availability goes down and price goes up :) still i couldn't find it with that price but still it's very cheap. (I'm not in America as well) By the way I have a question as you have used this string for a long time. Comparing to some other poly strings around 1.3 diameter, is it last shorter or almost equal to other strings? And did you ever tried 1.35 Diameter version of this string? You think it will be same feeling and just last longer or I should looking for 1.3 ?

Hey Mark thanks so much for the helpful content! I've been using a full bed of 17 gauge (1.25mm) RPM blast for a while and have been LOVING it. Your videos have definitely made me want to try Isospeed as a cheaper alternative. Have you tried the 1.20mm gauge Isospeed Baseline Spin version? I've really enjoyed using a 17 gauge (1.25mm) RPM blast but I'm really tempted to go thinner with an 18 gauge (1.20 mm) from all the amazing reviews I've read about RPM blast 1.20 mm. Would love if you could share your thoughts or even a review on the 17L (1.20 mm) gauge Isospeed Baseline SPIN version. Thanks again!

Hey Mark, so which gauge are you talking about? I see there are 4 gauges (at least on TW): 15L, 16, 16L, and 17L. Also, have you tried Weiss-Cannon UltraCable? That is my current string of choice on the mains, with Wilson Revolve Spin (16) on the crosses. Gives me a lot of speed but also control because of UltraCable's stiffness and Spin's thickness. But given Wilson's cost, I'm looking at alternatives. Weiss-Cannon isn't too bad price wise but if I can pair that down as well, all the better. Thanks!
