I love the Tommy who is with Grace. But the one from the last few seasons I didn't like him so much anymore. But he's definitely very attractive and Cillian Murphy is one of the best actors out there.

I adore Thomas Shelby and tbh I think much of it is Cillian’s performance. With a lesser actor I really do feel the portrayal could’ve been a lot less nuanced and more traditionally villainous. Cillian has that ability (that I find similar with Denzel) to portray toughness and vulnerability simultaneously and can really generate empathy when their shouldn’t be. I find this an interesting question though - can you really call a character good if their actions are bad? There are plenty of ways to provide for your family and even raise your community legally without murdering, cheating, blackmailing etc. Even if there is a certain honour about it and intentions are good - isn’t it actions that matter?

As well as this, I agree on the actor department - Cillian really does make this role, he is fantastic. He could have had a safe comfy life, but that was not enough for tommy Also he kept the stolen guns in season 1 and starts spying on fascism in season 5, both put his family at unnessecary risk
