Sign Language is possible with avatars. I watched an interview about how there is an ASL community on VR Chat. That they had to invent some new motions for words since they are limited in hand tracking, but that it is a very developed community. They even have a setup for ASL VR Chat users to go to church, of multiple religions, since many of them do not have ASL support easily accessible.

This is so wholesome, I hope that one day at least real-time subtitles will reach perfection so that the audience expands to more people. Since sign language depends so much on facial expressions and that's a long way from what 2D/3D models can achieve.

it's a losing proposition to read too deeply into what sort of person any media figure is, but she sure has racked up a history of going out of her way to do nice things and accommodate people at this point. I wonder if she'll ever get the OK to do the charity stream she wanted to do. iirc last year she said management was just dragging its heels and she wound up giving a donation out of pocket so they'd at least get something.
