Side note on Black Stalker, they are a character first mentioned in a Stalker short story contest run by GSC. You can hear a joke about it from either Loners or Freedom, can't remember which one. The guy who wrote the story with Black Stalker is the real life face model for Novikov, Clear Sky's technician, and a govt official responsible for safety at the actual CNPP

@@bluetherobot there's a ton of lore hidden in gsc approved books but unfortunately only available in russian/ukrainian because no one localised them yet. Also a myriad of CIS-made mods available only in russian with their own game lore/universe/story you name it. It's just that in terms of storyline mods (opposing to the freeroam Anomaly) there isn't much variety available in english language. A shame though

I spent a long time hating Call of Pripyat and anything "story-driven" for stalker, but now, playing Gamma it feels so empty compared to the world of Cop (with gunslinger), there's mutants to hunt, there's zombies to fight, tools to find... I feel like I am just walking around with no purpose in Gamma compared to it

There's some really cool ones that brings in the UI from the new Stalker game. At least their interpretation.

New install, unfortunately it gets totally unresponsive if I apply relevant graphics settings (Fullscreen, a lower DirectX) so I have to kill it. But it plays quite well at default settings. Saturation was the first thing I changed.

That is so strange. And thats after making sure all the bin files were in the same folder as the exe when installing?

@@bluetherobot Yes they were. Installation, then putting patches 1-4 on top of it, one by one, then first start. I may start over again, I'll see.

The super-saturated colors and bloom reminds me a LOT of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. And BTW, "Cordon" is an English (okay, French) word. It sounds like the name Gordon. It's not pronounced like Zaton.

The visuals remind me the most of Brother in Arms games, even the look of the menu. Especialy Hell's Highway but the whole franchise always had these bloom ridden visuals

the game has multiple difoculty settings that work well including an easy one and has an extensibe tutorial so its extremly accesible

I know this mod is story focused mod. But i wish they could add freeroam or sandbox mode and the ability to add some other mod like anomaly. That way, the community will have at least 3 options for "open world" stalker mod: 1. True stalker for anyone who prefer more "casual" gameplay (and a total upgrade from Call of Chernobyl) 2. Base anomaly for people who want to add some "spices" to their game, but not too extreme/hardcore like GAMMA 3. Anomaly GAMMA for those who prefer hardcore stalker experience.

Yeah. Currently just hit chapter 7, and wishing it was more open, but still overall enjoy the story and experience.

End game story was major disappointment tho.... No repeatable quest, no free play after story... it was great until you get to end game. Everything get much shallower than vanilla SOC later on game. *SPOILER* No, seriously, biggest let down was death of "him". Like, c'mon dude.... they shouldn't have killed him off.
