We were doing RightStart and it was way too much for my girl. She would cry almost every lesson. I thought she was just complaining and not focusing but it finally dawned on me that it wasn't her, but it was just the wrong curriculum for her. We switched to Math with Confidence and it was a total game changer and now math is her fave subject!!

This is what we are doing this year. We switched from TGTB to MWC because TGTB was just not working for us anymore math wise, but we are still using them for LA.

We have struggled with finding a good math. We finally settled on Hooked on Math (from Hooked on Phonics) for my younger kids, kindergarten and 2nd. It is so good! My oldest, 5th, is doing Teaching Textbooks. We are finally so set in math and are enjoying it all ❤

We used Masterbooks for 4 years and it was good and the short intentional lessons were definitely a breath of fresh air. But I knew something was missing and I figured it out when we switched to Math U See this past year! My kids NEED the manipulatives (blocks) with MUS to be able to SEE the math. It has been a game changer and now I’m starting my younger two with Math U See from the start.

I'm curious if we can see the problems the child got wrong and what they chose.

You’re able to see which one they got wrong but not what answer they put in. But you are able to go in and delete the answer so that you both can go over it together. I’ve done that many times and they were able to see the mistake they made and get the answer right

Do you buy manipulatives for Teaching Textbooks?
@thepracticalhomeschooler

@@gingerdillard1664 I didn’t because my oldest was in level 6 and my middle level 4 so they’re kind of beyond manipulatives stage but they do offer addition/subtraction/division/multiplication charts in their website for free to download that I wished I had done earlier! But will be adding that in for my younger 2
