We aren't far from you and have 9 ferals in the garden and I train them all. They know their names, they know 'up' when I feed them on a table or wall, they know 'down' but often ignore me, they know 'no' and one, who is the main mama (now neutered) has her own window food hatch so that she can have her food in peace without all her kids bothering her. If one is missing at breakfast and I call their name they soon pop their ears up from behind a bush and run down. I also teach them point, so that when I point to something they go and see what I'm pointing at. It is a constant learning curve for them.

Hi Mark. Well done training. Cats are very bright and the stimulation is very good for them and the companionship for them.

I think your Nature Reserve would lend itself well, to become a Wildflower Meadow (or at least part of it would) - Just think of the insects that would benefit from living there (it would LOOK and smell fabulous, too!).. 😍👍 Although I think the dark blue would look good kept as one feature wall (with the rest, neutral), maybe a light 'warm' grey (all over) would be the perfect backdrop from which to display warm colours in paintings or (even better) a French wall tapestry or two.. ✨✨ Great to hear that you and Teddy are continuing to bond, nicely - Our feline friends can become ideal companions, with time. 👍 🐈

awww the pictures of baby Marc are awesome ! hahah Im glad youre taking the time to train Teddy I think its great! Totally worth the effort Its important I think for him to have a bed of his own so he has somewhere to go I think cats need that

So glad to hear you are changing the dark blue. I was never a fan, if it were me I would initially have felt I was in my cosy cave but it would have soon become oppressive and depressive; but I assumed you liked it. I think the grey will be much fresher and def better for video. Grey can be cold but there are a lot of what they describe as warm greys vs cold greys. Glad to hear Teddy will be getting the snip, it should calm him down a bit and usually stops the spraying tom cats do. Personally not a fan of free roaming cats (mainly for their own safety). Hopefully he wont be keen on chasing chooks!

I really love the dark blue but for practical reasons I can see your point of view. Cats are so clever and make such great buddies. I hope Teddy goes free outside soon. He is so adorable. What an interesting life you have had and it seems to be getting even better. I send you and Teddy the happiest of times. ❤❤

Calcaire looks a good colour - an easy-on-the-eye neutral. Much better than the dark blue in your sitting-room which seems to suck the light out.

My girl cats completely ignore me if you point at something or call their name😂. I can say “treat” and one will come.. that is the extent of training that one of my cats have. Teddy is cute. His little hut is cute too, one of my cats has one but only goes in it in the winter time

The inside of my house is grey( sea fog ) and white, except for the flooring. It has been that way for 10 years and I find it very calming. It could do with a repaint, but I will do the same again.

Interestingly I moved into a house with lemon walls once. I thought it would feel bright and happy but it really didn't, it was a dreadful vibe. I learned one has to be really careful with yellows.

Now there’s a trend called colour drenching . Painting everywhere in sane colour ceiling shutting door window frame walls. So consider that. Really like your channel most positive you and teddy great entertainers keep up great work

Hi mark, you should watch some u tubes-on replacing some areas with wildflower seeded meadows intertwined or instead of lawn . I have a huge lawn and have done same and so good for the bees and insects and visually beautiful. You mentioned Currumbin how funny I went to primary school there. 😂 Siamese cats are so intelligent, it’s in his blood.. clever teddy I am sure he is training you.

Marc, how about getting some standard lamps, for ambient lighting and keeping the lovely blue. Even better if they have dimmer switches, so you can set them according to what you're doing, i.e. filming. Or keep one blue feature wall.💙💡 🐈‍⬛ I agree with everything you said, about training Teddy.🙂 I haven't necessarily trained my cat's but they understand what I say and do; and what they are allowed to do and not do. They trust me and that is the most important thing! 🤗 And, they trust that I'm helping them, when I have to give them treatment for injuries etc 😺

I may be an outlier but the primary colors just don't work for my aesthetics as paint for walls. I think a neutral wall gives you a chance to show off paintings and wall art, as well as pops of color with furniture, pillows, rugs etc. That way, you can change up the color scheme without having to repaint the wall. Your training at the zoo is really coming in handy with Teddy and it makes so much sense. These days, cat owners are doing more with their animals than leaving them home alone. I heard a report on the radio about Adventure Cats (on social media) who do things right along side their owners, like skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking etc. They say it depends on the personality of the cat if that's doable, but it seems that if one were to train a cat as a kitten, maybe they could all be guided in that direction? I'd say carry on and let us know how it goes! I follow a guy whose original plan was to ride his bike around the world, when a stray cat befriended him, and now she (Nala) goes everywhere with him. It's great: (1Bike1World).

Agree with you changing the colour of your living room. Light grey is good, goes with everything. You will need 2 to 3 coats , I think.

Grey on a grey day is depression overload. But that's just my opinion. What you like is important. I adore Teddy. Our black cat runs the show. Black cats are special.

I always find it fun to see what the animals actually learn. My young dog is resisting learning to step on a button to let us know he needs to go out (but he responds to the verbal "do you need to go out?). Yet, if I ask him to bring me his "coffee" (stuffy) he brings it every time. I never taught him that! 😂

Hi Marc, neutrals always look good ... nice, fresh and airy! That's a lot of strimming you did there... nice lush growth next spring! Nice to see a little of your wee stream at ground level too as I was curious.

Everything you said about training the cat especially the bonding bit is correct, it applies to all animals even human children. I love the darker colours, it makes the white pop and looks crisp. Everyone I know is convinced they were the first to start using grey for interior decor. The new big thing now is navy blue. 2 days ago a friend [who keeps up with all this 'trend' stuff] showed me her navy blue accent wall like she'd invented it so I told her 'this guy called Marc on YT did his living room feature wall in navy blue a few years ago just cos he liked it, I don't think he gives a toss about trends.🤣. Happy Xmas and new year Marc.

Hi Marc, agree with.everything you said ,re training Teddy, biggest being a bound and relationship between you to, you can train any animal, you just need to.know to.a degree what makes that animal tick, I had a part trying chicken, and my mum trained a.wild black bird ,that she saved as a very young bird that had a broken leg, using a matchstick as a splint he recovered fully, and lived in the wild, bit knew his name, and would do a few tricks. You can't go wrong with natural colours, I like grey, stone and plenty greens.❤

You definitely hit the nail on the head about leadership, don’t know if you’re talking about the U.S. specifically but we’ve had the WORST 4 years in our history thanks to biden/harris but thankfully it’s about to change for us! Cats are highly trainable and highly intelligent so don’t think twice about training Buddy.
