Creeper reproduction works a bit differently than eggs. They spread spores which grow into new creepers. Creepers are carnivorous plants that are full of sulfur that allows them to explode. When they do explode. Their remains seep into the ground where they reform back into the original creeper once again.

Yes! Finally someone else that knows this! It’s been confirmed that creepers feel crunchy like dry leafs, their texture is literally the old leaf texture, you know what gunpowder is made of? Charcoal, which comes from STRONGLY HEATED WOOD, and by the brightness of creeper explosion it is most likely steam rather then carbon from real life bombs, steam is super heated water, and it’s safe to assume creeper plants have water in it, as it’s crucial to all known life, I may be rambling but barely ANYONE knows this, making creepers weird, bald cat, snake, spider, things,

Eerm.. ACTUALLY: your'e WRONG. Creepers have been confirmed to be a clump of gunpowder and dead leaves that give them the green mimetic look, if they ate something it would probably be grass. PLUS players after they die dont remain corpses they respawn because the ancient gods from the end poem and Minecraft legends want you to survive so if mobs ate something it would be villagers or something, creepers are probably the most loved and praised mobs because the villagers and pillagers love them and they dont attack eachother. the acient builders even built desert piramids dedicated to creepers (we can see it by the texture of the ciseled smooth sand stone block that has a creeper face like the one behind the cape of the chleric villager. creeper would even probably be the best at hunting (even tho they dont) they have dead plants and leaves aal over them making them almost undetectable and super mimetic, also i think creepers are born by the spores that other creeper explosions leave bethind, that then grow into an actual creeper. something that almost makes you feel bad for creepers is that it will jump down and take damage trying to chase you. most mobs for example a zombie wouldn't just off a height where it will take damage cause it doesn't wanna die, but creepers have no problem jumping down a height and taking damage anyway because they know they'll die either way. don't believe me? go play test it
