Isabel my darling, you are an old soul. You are such a special young woman. I am so proud of you. There hasn't been a video I haven't watched and I missed you while you were gone. Don't take this the wrong way, but watching you in the kitchen, comforts me so much as it reminds me of and makes me feel my grandma. There are not too many women like you and I think you lived another life before this one. Right down to the way you dress. I just adore you!!! You're so wholesome and such a wonderful person. I am sure Logan feels so blessed to have you in his life. Anyone would be blessed to have you in their life and I don't mean romantically of course, just your presence. I feel lucky to have found you on KZbin. You bring me comfort as my past has been so prominent in my mind. I think as we grow older, we reflect on our younger years and our experiences, our happiest times. Mine was at my Grandmas in the kitchen. Hot water bottles at my feet and fresh smelling sheets and pillow cases that I would breathe in. You are that freshness, yet the old. Does that make sense? An old soul, doing what women did in the faraway past.. It's unique and I hope that never changes.

Isabel, I want to thank you for your videos and encourage you. Winter is hard, especially off-grid, in a tiny home, and up north where it is cold and dark a lot of the time! I have lived off-grid (but in Africa, so it was never cold!) long ago, and of course camped a lot, and many of my friends have been living that way for decades; built their own homes, lived without running water, built their own wind turbines, solar ovens, etc. I think it is very admirable, and also very difficult! Good for you, for doing this, but make sure you let yourself have some joy, easy days, and pure fun as well. The January Blues are nothing to sneeze at! Anyway, what I wanted to ask you while I was watching this video yesterday was if you would consider making a video about the nitty gritty not so pretty parts of off-grid tiny home living, without (as you mentioned) indoor plumbing. I think it would be a great service for viewers who are romanticizing off-grid living, just to see what it's really like on the day to day. It might sound yucky, and I'm not being creepy or kinky, but I think lots of people would be interested in your bathroom set-up and how you maintain it, where you get your drinking/cooking water (especially in winter), whether you have to thaw or purify it, if you ever get sick, how/if you guys bathe, and honestly, just being able to see what an entire day is like there in your house, like a fly on the wall (the good the bad and the ugly) would be SO interesting. I know. Of course you need your privacy! But my daughter, who told me about your videos, and I often wonder: Who is filming you? What does your partner do every day, or is he right there off-cam? Does you-tubing give you enough to live on? You share beautiful cooking demos with ingredients that are not so inexpensive. What is your road like? Do you get snowed-in? (I sometimes get snowed-in and I find it a little bit frightening.) Do you ever feel frightened out there? What does a day-trip to get groceries look like in wintertime, when you likely aren't living 100% off what you grew or stored in warmer months? I ask this because (I'm almost 60 now) when I was younger, I wanted to live off-grid in a bale house in the country with just a hand pump for cold water, a solar shower, and a composting toilet. I ended up not getting that dream, BUT am in a wonderful, quirky, very old, cozy, small house eight miles from the nearest town, and half a mile from the highway. I no longer want to be this isolated OR to be off-grid (unless I move somewhere that's warm year-round!). I am not in the off-grid existence, but I am okay with that and I still totally LOVE hearing people tell the stories of how they are thriving at it. Some of my friends have been managing it for decades. I really enjoy your videos, they are beautiful, and you seem to be a wise old soul! I have already commented before, hoping for a cookbook, and I see that you have actually already done one or two. Thank you! Your passion and attentiveness in all you do seems very genuine and spiritual, and you are truly a gift to the world. Just please remember to keep taking rests as well, and please consider my request. It would be so interesting to know more of the nitty gritty, but like I said, it's also none of our business at all! Peace and joy to you and yours in 2024. Oh! And thank you for saying that January is the worst time for resolutions! Thank you so much for that. I completely agree. Take care and be well.

This was a lovely video. I have loved the gentle sound of the snow landing softly on the blanket of snow when everything else is quiet all my life. I've always wanted everyone to know that experience, so was so happy when you shared it in your video. My husband and I used to chop wood to warm our home. I remember getting up before everyone to get the fire going and warm the house before getting the children ready for school. Even though I loved the smell and warmth of the wood, I used to dream of just flipping a switch to turn a furnace on. I admit, now that I have that, it's so nice. But, like you said, you don't need all the other things to be happy. Over the years I have been blessed to have everything I wanted, but now that I have, I want to get rid of a lot of all the material things and go back to simpler. Don't get me wrong, I still want my indoor plumbing, electricity and heat, but I don't need the "fluff" anymore. You see things and think it will be better if you have them, and for some things it is, but sometimes you already have what makes you happy. Rather than thinking you need more, or something else, don't waste time on trying for that. Spend your time appreciating what you already have. I've been blessed. I've worked hard all my life and so has my husband. Our children are grown with families and doing well in life, but I do and always have taken the time to soak in all the simpler beauty that surrounds me and I wish that for everyone. Your videos are inspiring.

I always remind myself the mentality of “the grass is greener on the other side”. is an illusion. I think Isabel probably looks outside her window wishing for a plowed driveway so she doesn’t have to bring stuff on a sled. I live at 7000ft and and outside my window is a plowed road but I wish I was in a warm place. And probably someone living on an island wishes for a snowy day on a mountain. It’s just endless. The moment to be happy is right here right now. It’s ok to aspire for more. A prayer in my heart says for all of us to live life as God meant for us to live it. Meaning in a pure, clean, innocent world filled with Love. Wishing and praying for you Isabel and Logan🙏🏻❤️ and this community

Hey Isabel, it's nice to hear from you again. Glad to see you and Logan doing well. Sewing at this time of year is a great idea. You have the time, the place, and the inspiration to make really neat things. Every time I hear you saying how small your space is, I think to myself, "They really need an addition or two to that tiny home!" One of my favorite things is castle architecture. As buildings that have been around for centuries, these buildings often started quite small. They often lacked amenities, and the owners often had to add parts on to include new ideas that came along. However, they rarely did any of that solely by themselves. They usually had help, lots of it. So if you can figure out what you would like to add, and where to add it, that's the first step. I bet you could put a septic system in if you really wanted an indoor bathroom. While your current place is a bit of all things, as the building organically grows, it could be repurposed for a number of things. Anyway what I'm trying to say, is don't feel constrained by what you have now, because you can change it. That would be a good project for the warmer seasons of the year. Plan it out, get lots of help, and make this tiny home into the home you'd like it to be, if you'd like to stay here. Personally I think you should, as you and Logan both seem to enjoy the area. I hope you continue to enjoy the winter season, and I look forward to your next video, whether that's in a week or a month, or whenever.

Yes Isabel, it's been a very difficult few months. It's been breaking my heart and it's keeping me mindful to be grateful for the safety, security and the basic needs that I have been granted. I've taken my stand and will not be moved, discouraged or swayed from it. Even when I don't see the evidence with my own eyes, I know God, the Universe or whatever you believe has a plan. It doesn't stop the tears from falling. It just makes it more bearable. God bless.

Hey love, I just wanna say thank you to you! Truly, Isa, thank you so much! Ive been trying to taper off medications because I felt like I lost my personality, felt like I was a bit of a robot (and Im not suggesting that's true of you too) but watching your videos, I realised how similar our sense of resilience is & now, again takk til det, I can't wait to take me tent into the mountains again - even if it is below freezing and experience life! I love how Logan loves your cooking! You two are the best!! Your dress with the apron is called a Pinafore! And you did a great job on it. You like Gingham but you should look into Calico fabric. It comes in virtually every shade and color. I love Calico!

damn i think i noticed you started to make videos for the sake of doing videos ...its not a hate, just thinking...once you popped up, i noticed you went into depression mode....like youre videos are still made like a movie, very high quality shots.....but i miss YOU there, your free soul. In last half a year you changed, like you actually did what you talked about....u got stressed out, because you popped and now you dont have to try so hard and you are not happy for the small things..... but i swear this happens with every youtube that gets big, they dont love it anymore, but keep doing it and when i see that, im sad

ran out of faking the same videos....her problem is she doesnt live the life shes portraying..shes just making snippets of things youd do if you lived that life....she has a fully functioning cabin and her place doesnt even have the wood stove now..she has electric and fixed the plumbing for the sink etc...has a full size fridge...full size oven...its all for show...not real living

Every other video has the title "why I was gone" and then same explanation... youtubers do nothing all day yet they burnout all the time, make it make sense

Hi Isabel i‘ve been in a deep depression for a long time and life is being spent in my room. admittedly i don’t watch every single video that you post, but when i do watch them, they make me feel calm & grounded. reminding me of what i have and letting me see the beautiful nature that i don’t see otherwise. you’re real & beautiful:)

I am so thankful to have found your content. I'd been really really struggling. I suddenly lost my son at 3 years in December 2023. I felt this was a unsurvivable loss and stopped finding beauty in ANYTHING. Then all the sudden i found YOU. You and your content have brought me so much peace and insight, so much. You have also inspired me to make a lot of changes, to let alot of things go and get back to what is really important and to let go of what no longer serves me. I now live in a little cabin in Northern Wisconsin. No power otger than my generator when absolutely needed, no indoor plumbing...and i have a new appreciation for life.wake up every morning thankful and while i still carry grief shes become a companion and no longer my enemy. . I had forget to appreciate the true beauty that was around me in the woods, the water and the sky I had forget to LIVE. So thank you for helping ME to realize how strong I truly truly am. I will forever remember you with admiration and love
