J Cole doesn't hate Kendrick so it wouldn't make sense to pretend to hate and attack a guy he actually respects. He got all deep about it, but I think he just doesn't care enough about looking "soft", which is respectable and as we know now, the smartest move he could've made. Drake on the other hand, cares very much.

That’s what I’ve been saying! Cole doesn’t have beef with Kenny, but half the world wants him to because they’d rather see two MCs go at it. Drake on the other hand is too insecure and let himself think he could go toe to toe with a seasoned wordsmith (Which considering how well it worked with Pusha T, we knew how this would go)

When you think you are the best you cant learn from anyone so you dont grow. When you think you are the most important person you disrespect others becuase you think you are owed more respect. Yeah he was also very civil with Lil Pump after having their dispute. In the song Fire Squad, J Cole makes a scenario wherein he snatches the Crown of the rap game, and rather than placing it upon his head, he destroys it. Ending all competition and establishing an even ground among M.Cs. It’s a pretty apt show of his character, he’s not a fighter; he’s like Rap Yoda.

Cole's merely acting his age and a lot of people (including Adam 22) were expecting him to just behave like a stereotypical, reactionary, egocentric rapper. At this point of his life (late 30's) it's way less likely and even when he was being provoked back in the day for the sake of fame by the younger generation J.Cole never stooped to their level. If anybody sees their apology to Kendrick as a sign of fear, than they're just as immature and surface-level as the fans of those unprovoked clout chasers who dissed him in the past. It is just as clueless as getting on board with the whole "eff J.Cole" movement in the first place.

Why can’t you criticize? Honestly? Questioning him as a man is legitimately stupid. Criticizing his getting in them bowing out immediately after a banger is an extremely head scratching decision. Drake is getting cooked publicly but, let’s not act like what Drake was saying to Kendrick didn’t affect him at all. I doubt he’s happy about the things Drake had said about him either. Cole should’ve realized before getting in, these mfs HATE each other. Brother thought he was about to spar and learned late that it was not going to be like that lol

@@KiLlACaMrOn94 That's exactly why it's dumb to criticize Cole for his decision lol you just reinforced his point. Them two hate each other. The thing I hate the most about this beef is that people are trying to discredit J cole as being a genuinely good artist just because he doesnt wanna take part in this. I've even seen some people claim Drake's a better rapper than Cole just because he responded and Cole didn't. People love to claim that J cole was afraid of Kendrick but I believe he simply moved out of the way because he didnt belong in this beef. Even IF cole decided to seriously battle kendrick, it wouldn't have been the same as kendrick vs drake, Drake got cooked because he had those skeletons in his closet which were used as a weapon against him, J Cole is not the same as drake so claiming that J Cole got scared because he knew what was going to happen to Drake is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.
