Hey robbie, we did that walking holiday as a family a couple years ago on the wolds way in Yorkshire. I would very much recommend it, but it is quite a shift for the younger kids. One of the days we did stay in a shared house with an old couple so it wasn't quite a pub dinner every day.

A suggestion if you wanted to do a pub crawl with a purpose would be the Cornish coastline, I did it a few years back with my dad spent about 4 days walking along the coast beautiful views and then exactly like you said found little Inn's and spent the evening's getting suitably pissed. Saw lots of wildlife along the way as well as some lovely locals who helped out for all sorts of things.
