I think his best quality is the “it” factor. He’s the glue. He’s a team player, carry’s good energy, he’s humble, he gives all his effort on both ends, and wants to win at any cost. His IQ is high and he can see the floor well which leads to him making great passes too but his teammate’s miss wide open shots most the time. For me if he continues like that especially defensively he should be DPOY regardless of his team win% cause him on the floor as a huge impact on anybody‘s offense! Dude is a rookie with some records like 10 blocks triple 5 triple doubles etc. A true 👽. His only weakness to me is he can get bodied by powerful centers because of his center of gravity. I think depending on the opponent he should play the PF instead of C. And SAS needs to add a freak of nature st his side to be able to defend on guys like Embiid.

Wemby should be paired up with a Peyton-type point guard. A quick and uncontrollable player who is always on the lookout for an assist and will be a pain in the ass defensively outside the paint. One that never gives you an open three and is always hunting for a steal. It will be a vise grip that locks down offenses completely. Sochan also shows great potential, again with a hustle mindset but in a small forward role. Add a great shooting guard for high accuracy on threes (maybe Vassell, maybe some other) and a power forward with some muscles to take care of the heaviest offenders and focus on the rebounds. Now, that would be a fun team to watch. Defense and hustle mindset (such as 90s Bulls) is so much more fun to watch than todays 3-point offense focused teams.

Put the right guys around Wemby and they will crush the league. It won't even be fair.... before that happens, I hope my MAVS have done that with Gafford and Washington. In any 7 game series, I'm taking my MAVS!

"He is better than the hype." there's something really odd about this statement. it is a contradiction in itself for the person saying it, because by saying it, this person becomes someone who hypes Wemby a lot. For me as a listener, the statement can be true, because i might consider the general hype as comparatively low. so the same descriptive statement about an subject that does not refer to either of them, is true for one and false for another.

Get Trae Young on that team! Get Alex Sarr from the draft, you got Jeremy and Vassell all that with Wemby know we’re winning games Update: add Ryan Dunn (second pick from UVA) defensively off the charts lock down defender

He will be great when the spurs can surround him with talent, and hes not getting tripled every play. He needs a scorer to take pressure of him. He shouldnt be the best player on a roster as the youngest player there.

Hes the #1 overall pick, ehere do #1 overall picks go? to one of the worst teams in the league. Unless the player is a bust theyre almost always going to be the best plsyer on the team they get drafted to. Yes the Spurs need to surround him with more talent but he was going to be the best plsyer on the team regardless of who the Spurs had

So you can tell me but Keldon Jonhson can't take advantage of it because he had better stats last year. But that's just because he went down a lot in the hierarchy. But Vassel takes advantage of it, Sochan doesn't have enough talent to take advantage of it. You put a Trae Young on the team, he will have more easy shots and more easy passes to make.
