I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and KZbinr who's been to 61 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This marked the start of my efforts to turn vlogging into a full-time job.
After that European trip I explored much of Asia: visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan.
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.
I've travelled to North America just once as a KZbinr, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. I then visited the Caribbean for the first time, covering the Dominican Republic, before heading to both Brussels and Amsterdam, then covering Taiwan and the Philippines in Asia. I finished off the year with a trip around Morocco.
I started my travels in 2023 by finally visiting Paris, taking the Eurostar from London. I then headed over to Qatar for a few days, before heading to Asia, with videos following from India, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan.

hello. The maximum speed of Shinkansen is 285km/h between Tokyo and Osaka. 300km/h from Osaka to Hakata 320km/h from Tokyo to Aomori This section will be 360km/h in the future. Average speed is more important than top speed. The Maghreb Shinkansen is currently under construction and is scheduled to open from Tokyo to Nagoya in a few years. The maximum speed will be 500km/h. I'm looking forward to it!

I know you meant you can't just jump on the shinkansen from Fujiyoshida, but just to (pedantically!) point out you can actually just jump on the Shinkansen at Fuji! Fuji city is the other side of Mount Fuji from where you were and Shin-Fuji station is there. You will have passed through it on your way back from Yokohama to Kyoto. Have enjoyed your videos for years and really glad to see you travelling Japan!

JR pass allows to use on any JR trains, ferries and buses or whatever run by JR (Japan rail) that spreads all over in Japan like spider web. I used it from Haneda to Tokyo station a couple weeks ago on monorail and a local JR train as well as to Takayama. I was surprised to use on JR ferry to Miyajima in Hiroshima.

If the total length of the three sides of your luggage is within 160 cm, you can bring it in without a reservation. There is no additional charge, but a fee will be charged if you bring it in without a reservation. The maximum size of oversized baggage is 250 cm in total of three sides.

You took Kodama (Echo in English) which are all-stations trains but not Hikari (Light) which are express trains or Nozomi (Hope) which are super-express trains. It’s interesting because I believe many of Hikari trains stop at Shin-Yokohama. Please note that the name of Kodama was used for the super-express train between Tokyo and Osaka before Shinkansen was installed in 1964. And the first super-express train of Shinkansen was Hikari. In 1992 Nozomi was installed as more higher level Shinkansen than Hikari.

It's summer in Japan right now and it's very hot and humid, so I don't really recommend it. It's 36°C in Tokyo today and I don't want to go outside. The most comfortable seasons are spring from March to May and autumn from October to November, when you can enjoy cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. Having said that, yesterday there were fireworks festivals all over Japan, and summer is summer and there are interesting events.

Dude, I like your channel and videos, but your audio is, quite frankly, very hard to understand at times. I have to either turn the volume WAY up or rewatch it with subtitles and I have great hearing. My mom who doesn't have good hearing, misses 50% of what you say, even with the volume up. May I suggest that you voice over parts where the background noise is high, or maybe just talk louder. And please, if there is an announcement on a train or platform, try not to talk over it, wait until it's finished. It was very hard to understand what you were saying on the train platform with the loud announcement going on in the background. Love the channel, just wanted to give some suggestions. Thanks for all you do!

Eating Ekiben(lunch box) on the Shinkansen has become an essential activity for tourists, quite intriguingly. It's interesting how it has turned into such a must-do for them. Moreover, Ekiben is truly OEC(=delicious), and as you eat it while gazing at the scenery flying by at high speed, there's a certain special atmosphere you can feel... right?

I rode Chinese high speed many times, in terms of speed and stability and network availability I would say Chinese high speed trains are the best in the world. 350km/h for some lines and 300km/h for the rest of the lines. Especially soo stable, my friend rode Japanese one she told me it's not stable as the Chinese one. Definitely would like to try the Japanese one as well.

Have you considered a wireless microphone for your camera? Your audio is too low most of the time, then, a burst of too loud. Also, your background Japanese music volume is too high, so, instead of calming train background music, it is too loud and the viewer must turn down the volume during music, then up to hear your faint speaking. Just an idea, hope you will improve the quality of your videos by a minor investment into wireless microphone. I love your videos, thank you for your hard work sharing your life adventures with everyone.
