I have another reason. When the USA occupied Japan after WW 2, they wrote a bunch of new laws. One of them was that porn can not show pubic hair. So a whole industry arose of panty porn, creating a bunch of panty fetishists, but that's another story. In porn magazines and films, you would be treated to the sight of mostly nude women with their underwear still on. That has relaxed, but the genitals and the pubes are still pixelated out of Japanese porn. This, of course, turned pubic hair into a forbidden fruit. The thrill of seeing something that the government has made so difficult for you to see, the novelty and the newness of it, can not be underestimated. In the USA, it is the opposite. At least when the trend started, shaving enabled a person to see parts of the VG that they would not normally see. So that was the forbidden fruit.

Funny, people are so different. First of all, every choice is by definition "personal" so that is not really a reason. About innocence, i usually associated this with people who DON'T shave, because it makes them appear childlke and innocent. I'd never associate someone having pubic hair with the fact they just wouldn't touch themselves down their (with a razor). The Skinny Jeans example puzzles me as well, because hair actually helps prevent friction or irritation by wicking away moisture (possibly one of the reasons why we have it). Of course you can sometimes rip some hair out which is painful but other than that i get more irritation if i DO shave down there. The 3rd reason i can understand, not wanting to stand out or feel exposed in public. That may be a cultural thing in Japan, going with what the majority does. For me the most important reasons for pubic hair are 1) olfactory - pubic hear is a great pheromones carrier and i'd much rather want to smell the fragrance of my partner than some generic shaving gel. same goes for body odour vs. perfume 2) aesthetic - i find it an appealing feature. it makes this area stand out and is decorative. it is called pussy or kitty for a reason 3) maturity - as mentioned before i see this as sign of a sexually mature woman rather than a girl. That being said, i like pubic hair only on the pubic mound, ideally trimmed to a cropped triangle. The areas below should be hairless if possible, simply because it makes oral sex more exciting.

no more. had a time in my 20s where i shaved my pubic hairs and it hadn't a single benefit to me but some negative effects (cuttings from shaving, ingrowing hairs, pimples, irritations from rubbing unterwear, bad feeling overall etc.) since than i let it grow it like nature want it naturally.
