Mari, with all due respect, Jesus assured people back in 1st Century to return giving his promise that those people of that time won't die off before they see Jesus returning on clouds. Even Paul confirmed completion of preaching work which fulfilled Matthew 24:14 which say that prior to Jesus' return there will be preaching all over the world. What happened so Jesus didn't return for 2000 years, no one knows.
