Being just a laity, it seems challenging to find a spiritual director on my own although I've prayed and asked God about it. But anyway while I don't have a spiritual director I always rely on the greatest spiritual director - the HOLY SPIRIT - by praying to God daily, conversing with Him constantly and most of all by reading the Scriptures which is the spoken word of God. God already told us what to do in the Scripture. We only need to "put it into practice."

Ahh, a retreat! It’s been years since I’ve been to one. Amen! I’m on it. Sometimes our love for God gets habituated. Having variety in our spiritual life is refreshing and kicks in that enthusiasm for our souls growth. I will ask my parish priests about a spiritual director, yes! The director I did have (retired Fr. Mannion of Wichita KS) 30 years ago was a miracle of blessings. Changed my life. Time for a booster shot. Thank you!

With all due respect, it is most difficult to find a priest who is willing to invest time for Spiritual Direction. I try to nurture my own prayer life & vary the types of prayer. I also pray that my Guardian Angel protect me & Blessed Mother pray to her Son, my Lord, Jesus to send His Spirit to guide me. There are too few priests that have time to take on Spiritual Direction for even once a month.

I like to have a SD. There is enough priests but am unable to find a priest let alone a trained SD willing to be a spiritual director. Basically the laity SD ourselves.

I agree - but where can i find one in the anything goes Southwest which is bereft of priests?

For spiritual directors look for the religious like jesuits,carmelites or even lay people.

The rad trads are spectators in the TLM. The Last Supper, the 1st Mass, is participatory.
