Jett rides like the track is wet. Like he never completely trusts that it will hold his speed. So he uses the safest, smoothest line that will allow him to carry momentum, and he seems to always be safely below his limit. He reminds me of Jean-Michel Bayle. Super smooth, super skilled, and makes going super fast lool super easy.

Amazing that Jett can have that clean of technique and his mind seems so clear and focused that he is the only one that knows he can win. Webb and Ferrandis might push him as they get their bikes dialed and confidence back

He did get not so great starts his first couple of years; however, he still managed a championship in his second year outdoors, despite getting bad starts. Jett hasn’t had an exceptionally high number of crashes. He has only had one crash as a 16 y/o rookie that took him out of the season. Also, it seems like his rate of crashing is trending downward.

Another big thing Chase does is he stares at his front fender. Jett and Hunter don't and both look further forward and can see and prepare for obstacles faster

This was a big problem for me when I raced. I would find myself staring down at the fender when the track was rough. Things come at you so much faster it’s harder to react and you start to tense up and slow down more

Jet has developed his own fundamentals, it's beyond a stylistic advantage it is new math . I remember being tutored by the great Freddie Spencer he compared steering the bike just like down hill skiing driving the bike with his legs and feet completely like an Olympian skiiing bumps. , His input to the bars gentle, minimal As is his control of the bike in the air controlling the attitude each landing with little change of direction smooth transitions . He is redesigning motocross in plain sight right in front of our faces, It reminds me of that movie "a river runs through it" with Brad P as a fly fisherman had strayed from dad's teaching to become and artisan fly fisherman with his own unique style. And his father recognizing his amazing skill and discipline from the shore one day and understood the commitment he made to perfection. witch is bigger than catching the fish or winning races. Jett is an artist and hes cracked the code to another level , remember after 2004 motocross racing looked different on every track all over the world forever when Stewart composed his contribution to the dirt.. I don't think Jett is done with his, I think he is still dialing it in, while he does that, "dial it in" keep your eye on Deegan he's the 12th monkey
@cknorris3644
@cknorris3644 Жыл бұрын
yup driving with his legs are the secret. He almost rides like a snowmobiler carving powder. Front just skimming and steering is done through the lean on the rear. Like you said he cracked the code and found another level. Just like McGrath with the front end down jumps and Bubba with the scrub.

The general public has been saying "the field is empty he's not racing anyone!"😂 As if anyone had a chance, Sexton wouldn't have either way. Only person I think that would've given him trouble in tomac, only because I don't think any rookie could be prepared to deal with the dog inside of him for an entire season

I don't think it discredits his skill at all, but it's simply fact that the field is super thin right now. The guys he's beating are just off of injury or were 6-10th place guys in MX last season. It's a bummer Chase and Eli got hurt, I think they would have had some great battles this summer.

When your bike is at 12'000 rpm's? It is vibrating and full of energy? And loses any ability to absorb impacts! When riding at lower rpm's your frame and bike are relatively softer and more compliant! Any questions? Ask Jett!

Jett has been faster on the 250 than the 450’s all season. There was a shot of him at hangtown, 2-3 minutes into the second moto. He was up 10-15 seconds and had clicked up a gear and was barely revving the bike and pulling away.

Why he is dominating is because Tomac is injured. Jett is incredible and perfect but Tomac has something Jett does not yet possess - years of experience. I hope Jett wins the season but I also with he could race against Tomac because I think it would elevate his racing IQ
@thegrossmansmx
@thegrossmansmx Жыл бұрын
Before I rant I love Tomac. huge fan but..........Jett is 19 Tomac is 30.... Jett rides with just as much awareness as Tomac but Jett is way more consistent by far. If Jett didnt win he is usually top 3. If Jett isnt top 3 he hit the ground more than once. Tomac is consistent but he has weird races that he finishes 5th-8th and its like wtf is he doing. I think he gets scared and holds back. Or he's always injured or scared of getting injured. like Kenny but not as bad. Tomac has a switch he presses at times and pulls out insane speed. but I think Jett has that exact same insane speed but hes accomplishing that speed at 90% effort. IDK if anyone has seen Jett at 110%+ maybe once when he crashed in the beginning of a race in SX and was down like 25-30 seconds and came back and won. but even that race he looked like he was just riding through a field of amatures and he was just having fun. idk I think this kid goes on to break all the records as long as he can stay healthy, keep his head on Dirt bikes, and doesn't retire early like Villipoto did. Who else is coming up to challenge him? Chase still cant get out of his own way. Cooper is getting old. Dylan is hurt every year now. Tomac if he comes back has a year maybe. i mean who else is there? Deegan? idk. 450 is jetts class for at least 5 years
@wygantsh

I agree that Jett is definitely going to dominate. As a race fan I would like to see how Tomac and Jett would do racing against Barcia Anderson Sexton and Webb. If all of those riders are present I think they would change how things look right now. Right now Jett s competition basically sucks so it looks like watching Jett practice instead of racing
@thegrossmansmx

We all forget how Jett dominated the mxon in his first race on 450 which included the fastest 450 riders on the planet which included Tomac even if Tomac was racing now and not injured the outcome would be the same the fact is Jet is the fastest motocross rider on the planet simple as that! And he aint getting any slower and hes only 19!!

Jet does it cause he's so big and tall. So nobody has noticed that Jet and Jeffrey Herlings are extremely tall? Nobody notices the size of their bodies on a 450 next to everybody else? So tall, that all they have to do is lean back and they just wheelie over everything. Good luck with that. You would either have to strap a 20lb weight to you waist or get taller bars to get your weight back like that. I say good luck with that cause nobody wants to sell tall bars. They have convinced everybody (even the bicyclists), that you're going faster if you bend over forwards and stick your head in the wind while you grit your teeth for effect. But Jet and Jeffery just lean back. Get taller bars, and you can too. Sadly, it will cost you well over $100 just to try a taller set of bars. It's not like you can just raise the gooseneck. But that's how Jet and Jeffrey do it. It's not magic, it's leverage.
