Went from Instincts to Tech 10s after smallest tip over broke my foot. Yes the fox’s feel better, more comfort, and peg feel. But the tech 10s have so much support and feel way safer. Iv had hits in tech 10s that I feel would have wrecked my foot in the instincts. Iv grown to love the extra stiffness in the tech 10 as well. After break in the tech 10s are only slightly behind the instincts in comfort and feel, but wayyyyy ahead in support and safety…. In my opinion

I broke my toes in a pair of Fox boots so I started riding Alpinestars for the protection. The inter bootie made me feel safer. I have since switched to Sidis and the are super comfortable and the toe box is much smaller that the Alpinestars. Less missed shifts.

Tech 10s all day. Used Fox instinct for 2 years. Fox feels amazing but don't offer enough ankle support or protection. Foot dab in the fox hurts and over jump in fox and ankles collapse easily.. Rode the Gaerne and they have the ultimate protection, but it's like going back in time. Super uncomfortable and way too stiff. No peg feel, etc. Tech 10s are my fav

I like Forma or sidi. Neither are made in China like fox is. I know there’s one or two other brands out there not made in China, but I have not tried them yet.

Tech 10s for me outlast the rest holding their support longer. They are a little stiff for Enduro so I run a rotation of my Tech 10s with new ones strictly for MX and older ones used for GNCC and Enduro.

I remember when I saw AJ switch from Alpinestar boots to Fox boots. I thought that would be his impression, because that's how I feel. I even asked him, either as a youtube comment, or private message on the app. His response didn't surprise me, but I wasn't sure how sincere it was, since Fox was his new sponsor. Hearing him in this video makes me realize that he really does prefer the Fox's. Obviously the number one goal of boots is protection, burn darnit, you've got to be able to feel, too. My first experience with boots were some entry level Fly Viper boots back in 2008. What an absolutely miserable experience. I could not flex, move, feel, or anything. It felt like I was riding with casts on. If that was riding, I would just give up on riding. I grew up riding with sneakers as a kid. Then as an adult I started riding again, and went with boots. Miserable. Then I bought some Fox Comp 5 boots, which were a night and day difference. I could actually move, and feel things. I've tried on some Fox Instincts in the past, and you could immediately feel the comfort.

You have to be craaazzyyy to pick anything else over a pair of SG12 or SG22 if you are concern about support and safety and durability. Most comfortable as well. Stiff but comfortable.

I agree went though 2 pairs of tech tens in less then a year and switched to the sf12s no regrets and the break in in no were near the techs

@@lancaster5808 The hinge on the SG12s is the real deal. They feel like ski boots at first but feel outstanding on the bike. They wear well too so I see myself keeping them for a while. You can supposedly even get new soles put on them.

I loved my SG12’s a lot and then switched to Tech 10’s and I felt more confident in the 10’s just because of the booty. I sacrificed feel and a SMALL amount of comfort but I liked the Tech 10s

@@racingjunk7024yeah for real you can basically take them out of the box and they’re broke in lol. I was so worried about that because I thought they’d just keep getting softer but they didn’t they were a very solid boot for sure.

I had a pair of Tech 8’s from 2006 until last year and they are still in okay condition! Quality boots, got tech 10’s last year..

I buy the fox motion... now the have more or less 30 hour and they are falling a part .... before I had sidi crossfire 3 and after 5 years of riding they was still usable ..... Idk if it's a problem of my pair of boots or not

I have used Tech 10 boots for many years but I changed to Acerbis X-Team boots this year. Much, much lighter and very comfortable boots. Enough protection for me and way more easy to use. Maybe Tech 10`s give a bit more protection, but I’m not that fast rider and I feel like I ride better with these lighter, better feeling boots. No break-in period as these are not too stiff even when new. I don’t know if these are available in the US as I live in Europe.

I snapped the sole in half on my fox boots, probably the 200$ pair. I ride in the woods and it was off a small single out to a flat landing. You couldn't tell from the outside, but if you put it in you can feel it split in two.

Tech 7 is more confortable than the 10 at least for me but i’m not a pro racer… If i have to change my tech7 i’d go with the FOX Instinc 2.0 The tech10 is to much for me with the boot inside :/

Gaerne SG10's were my all time favorite boot. Never could get comfortable in the SG12's and Alpinestars where uncomfortable too. I never liked the booty they have in lots of boots. I never tried fox later in life but riding 60's I had fox boots, just cheapo ones though.

I have tech 10s but I do sometimes think some of the colorways look pretty cool on the fox boots but astars also has like 500 different tech 10 colors lol.

@@herrion2412 yes but the fox boots are absolute trash quality wise compared to Astars. It’s not even close. I’ve had a few of them and they provide no support
