Samuel Gold just an idea for improving your videos: when you're showing all-22 film in the background and not breaking it down, could you still circle or highlight where the player is? In the middle of the video I found myself watching the wrong player entirely and I think it would just be easier to watch. Great analysis though!
@SamuelGoldNFL4 жыл бұрын
@@ethanmoore1315 I highlighted the player with an orange circle before every play. Look at the 0:10 mark for an example of endzone view. I did the same with the All-22 at the start of the play too. Look at 4:50 for an example!

Maybe a different color would stand out more? I'm open to ideas!
@ethanmoore13154 жыл бұрын
Samuel Gold I noticed some of those, but maybe you could have it show up after the first time through the loop? The video at 5:00 for example has Brooks on an orange logo, so I didn't notice it immediately and I had to hunt down which LB he was. Nothing huge, just after the first go around if I don't catch where he is he can get lost in the play. On an unrelated note, did you happen to notice #6 Riko Jeffers? He's playing the OLB spot and despite an injury partway through the season he's seemed like he's played well.

Nobody shut it down, as the 49ers had over 2k on the ground and had no stand out star HB while doing it. Pure scheme, elite blocking and commitment to the scheme. Just like with Lunch as Beast Mode, when your guys work together, the zone run is designed to always make the defense wrong. More important than a linebacker, it is how the down linemen engage and hold double team to free up the LB is what matters.
@haydengw4 жыл бұрын
Paul Gaither well that issue was addressed with Seattle
@bryanstephens86134 жыл бұрын
@@PaulGaither Seahawks shut it down week 10 last year when they were healthy. 87 yards total for the 9ers on that day and a W for the Hawks. I think the Seahawks can get even better against the run, and if what Mr Gold says is true, Brooks can help us do that while simultaneously providing some much needed help against seem and crossing routes.
@PaulGaither4 жыл бұрын
@@bryanstephens8613 - I like how you mention when the Seahawks were healthy. Bot the starting LT and RT for the 49ers were questionable and played like it in thier first game back off of injury, Raheem Mostert didn't play - the guy who dominated Green Bay and was becoming the starter by week 10. Kittle didn't play. If I recall, that was either the game Juice got hurt, was out, or was playing hurt. Seattle has a much better team than their results, and I expected a rematch in the NFC Championship game. Pete is a hell of a coach and is a defensive guy. Your team will be good for as long as he is there, even when the roster is no as great as other years simply because of your HC . I am happy that the rivalry is back on.

I feel like the issue isn't how good is Brooks, but how useful will he be. Wagner and Wright are two of the better LBs in the league. Our defense played bad last year, but those two still had good years, so they're two of the best players on our defense. Most NFL teams play nickel ~70% of the time, so that makes the third LB not a very important position. We played 3 LBs more then anyone last year, but it did not turn out well for us, so there's likely more merit in changing system then personnel. This means Brooks will likely only effect the play of a part time position and even then based on last year only by how much better he is then Kendricks (who was decent) and for the upcoming season only by how much better he is then Barton (who was a day two pick last year). That's not including Irvin either who's likely better at the position right now. That means he's basically going to be a reserve player this year. Basically my issue is why have a really good backup at LB while our OL gets even worse. We got deeper at our deepest position.
@buckfuttler28774 жыл бұрын

he's just gotta play the hook curl better and get more info from his initial read step. You can tell he reads run plays very well but when hes outside playing the pass, he looks a bit lost like he doesn't know whether to play the flats or hook curl. Should be an easy thing to teach Brooks when booby wagner is one of the best at this technique!

Ridiculous sideline to sideline speed at linebacker

At first. I said what??? A linebacker? However, after seeing his films,how I agree he will fit, he just might help to sew up the defense and learn from the the best in the game! Pete's strength is "finding" talented players... hes got that gift, so, I believe! Go Hawks

I'd never give a college kid the label of being Bobby Wagner, but he does remind me of Bobby some. If I'm not mistaken wasn't the concern about Bobby coming out of Utah state his lack of coverage ability? I'm sure Pete and the staff will put Brooks in a good position to succeed and wish him all the best :)

It still is, that is where we got murdered within the division and the opposing teams know it all too well.
@RCunderscore4 жыл бұрын
Mihai Grigoras you’re saying, the reason we lost in the division is because Bobby is bad at coverage? He’s one of the best coverage linebackers in the league.

@@RCunderscore I am saying our defense got exposed during zone coverage in the middle of the field. It's not just on Wagner but rather on the whole defense and a tribute to an inconsistent pressure up-front and a commitment to stuff the run. Mr. Wagner has one INT last year.

@@mihaigrigoras7956 so your comment doesn't really have any relevance to what I was saying bout Bobby's individual coverage abilities. I don't know what point in the season was the point where a bunch of fans decided that zone coverage was the enemy. But you're wrong. If you want to blame anything, blame the defense's choice to remain in base defense rather than nickel so often. It's not that zone coverage is bad, it's that linebackers don't match up well against slot receivers as well as nickel corners would. It's not on Wagner. And interceptions don't tell the whole story of coverage.
@mihaigrigoras79564 жыл бұрын
@@RCunderscore I don't need to blame anybody, I am merely drawing my own conclusions. Regarding Mr. Wagner abilities in pass coverage, I believe he is not the best, some of the stats I have seen place him towards the lower end of the top 10 in the NFL and yeah, that is not his strength and that is one chapter where he can do better.

The people screaming about oline forget that it's our defense that cost us so many games.

i thought we had a perfectly fine O line last year. now the center and entire right side are gone. back to the jigsaw puzzle bullshit pete does every few years. hawks will be LUCKY to go 9-7 this year.
