I like to think that Kai has to manually control the jombies to an extent, and that's why we see him getting knocked around when the jombies get hit. So the more of them he uses, the more his attention is split and the less effective each jombie is. That's my headcanon for why the pandas won so easily after like a day of training, anyways.

Funny thing is, I realized recently Tai Lung was CONSTANTLY stretching and exercising in prison. That position he was forced in required a really strong core and muscles in his arms that never got overstrained and would have pulled OFF his arms from the boulders in 20 years. And apparently although Po was never able to, the dragon warrior was expected to need minimal sustenance to maintain themselves for incredible periods. Tai Lung appears to live that legend. There were no mechanisms in place keeping him upright in that position. A normal person would’ve been flat on their gut with no way to move with that turtle shell keeping his pressure points locked down. So long as his reflexes were maintained from prior to his getting locked up, it’s why he came out stronger quite effortlessly.

Bro the furious five almost beat Tai lung and by the third movie, Tigress Atleast, far surpassed Tai lung. It’s pretty blatant. The reason Kai didn’t use Tai lung i feel, is bc with power creep, Tai lung is simply too WEAK I mean he’s a physical fighter and displayed no worthy amounts of chi at all Infact he seems to have very little of it looking at how he fights compared to other masters. We have to remember that Tai lung was in the first movie. Tigress is respected by Po and while she is below him in skill and power, it is heavily implied that she isn’t too far behind. My claim is that tigress by the end of kunfu panda 3 beats tai lung from kunfu panda 1 (haven’t seen the fourth movie and don’t plan to) you can’t bring up tigress from the first movie and expect your point to be valid she not kinky got more skilled since then but she always got super powers (chi) if ur gonna try debating this subject, give actual evidence. Yku can’t just say “tai lung beat her in the first movie” and expect your point to be flawless. What’s tai lung gonna do against a tigress who has trained with the dragon warrior for years?
