Why Killing Plagueis Made Palpatine Feel Profoundly Lonely and Scared

Here’s something I noticed. Every time a Sith is wounded in any form they become weakened either physically or mentally while their force ability strengthens or weakened based on how they react to the moment of weakness. Plagues reacted un-sith like and hid himself like a coward, while sidious stood in front of the senate triumphed. Either you fall to ashes or rise from them like a Phoenix, when you tested by the dark side.

Plagues literally was surrounded by the elite and was a senator I'm almost positive of that but for some reason I'm second guessing myself. While Palatine did the leg work would lead to him becoming the councilor was done by Palatine alone. Especially after his duel with mace Windu, Palaptine was shredded of his weakness and stood exuding the dark side, and standing before the senate triumphant. Plagues hid after his brush with death, even fearing to sleep to the possible threats, while Palpatine relished in his triumph and rebirth as the emperor.

While Plagueis definitely became much less of a public figure after the assassination attempt he was still the in control of the Muun banking clan and probably the true power behind what would become the CSI

The only alternative I can imagine is palpatine thinking he killed plagues but he miraculously survived and seeks revenge. Sidious’s hunger for power was too great once he knew he learned everything he could from him keeping him alive wouldn’t make sense.Plagues wanted palpatine to ascend politically while plagues was the invisible hand ruling behind the scenes. Thats what they agreed on but Sidious does not share power

In the case of Sidious, he originally had no thought or intention to kill Plagueis after he had passed out drunk. Sidious was actually just about to leave and allow his master to continue to sleep. It was the dark side of the force instructing him to seize the opportunity and take the role of “master” for himself.

Goes to show how evil and corrupting the DARK SIDE really is! Palpatine had no intention of killing his master until the DARK SIDE tempted him with the prospect of becoming his own master! Yet even Sith can develop bonds and even if the DARK SIDE drives them to act to seize power, the act of killing someone close to you like a mentor can still effect them especially for a DARK SIDE apprentice who hasn't yet been fully consumed by the DARK SIDE! You could also argue that Palpatine was following the will of the FORCE (the DARK SIDE is just one aspect of it) as again the FORCE turned against Plaguies cause of his attempts to create Life using the Midiclorians caused it to create Anakin in response, so I could see the DARK SIDE using Palpatine as its instrument to end Plaguies! Also the DARK SIDE could feed off of Palpatine's fear to corrupt him further! I like to think of the DARK SIDE as using the SITH and other DARKSIDERs as much as the SITH seek to use the Force for their own ends! I also like to think DARK SIDE users delude themselves into thinking their the one's in control as the idea they have control is laughable as the DARK SIDE corrupts those who are tempted to use it! The LIGHT SIDE of the force is straight forward, while the DARK SIDE is manipulative in my mind! Palpatine's sense of fear and loss would feed the DARK SIDE!

I think that Darth Plagueis still lives in Darth Sidious through Essence Transfer, Leaving Darth Sidious to believe that he is acting under his own free will but doesn’t realize the leach hanging on to his spirit. Darth Plagueis was way too smart not to experiment on himself after having some forms of success from his M-Count manipulations. And if in not mistaking, Darth Tenebrous did research on Essence Transfer and may have done it to Darth Plageuis without him knowing upon his death, Possibly affecting Darth Sidious as well. And the way that Plageuis went out was weird. Darth Sidious saw Plageuis let his guard down when getting hit by the force lightening. All of this would make the statement that Palps used ring even louder when he said that he is all of the Sith. Just a thought 💭

Darth Tenebrous used Bith science to enact a form of essence transfer. According to the novel, Tenebrous used a purpose-designed retrovirus to infiltrate Plagueis' cells and could hijack his apprentice's ability to see the future. And it actually worked to an extent. However, Tenebrous foresaw Plagueis' death, and attempted to leave Plagueis' body, only to find himself back in the cave he died in, tied to his desiccated corpse, doomed to relive his death for eternity.

He made a mistake… The rule of two was created as a means to suppress the craving for power that kept the Sith stagnant… but once the galaxy was won, the next step was immortality… but with Sidious’ craving for power he resulted right back to what the rule of two was trying to prevent. I think Palpatine felt Anakin’s power for the first time even after he just did not realized it just yet, for he would be that already fly back to Naboo from Trade Federation control ship. Palpatine recalled meeting him after he talk with Dooku about Maul’s reveal and he sensed nothing about him. True his mind might have been more focus on the getting the Padma to call a vote no confidence but he should have felt something about the boy. If he was unable to that would still speak to his powers and gifts in the Force

It is pretty well established that Dooku has always been more powerful than Maul. Dooku was the second most powerful Jedi behind Yoda. Not only as a swordsman, but in Force power and abilities. Mace in sheer power might equal Dooku, but not in knowledge or abilities. Dooku was something of a savant with the blade and with an insatiable hunger for knowledge in a way the other Council Members were not. Dooku as Jedi Council Master was already as powerful as Sidious at the time, and considered by Plagueis as the better duelist. Sidious when he became master grew more powerful than Jedi Dooku, but not by much and even then Dooku was still the better swordsman. Darth Tyranus grew measurably more powerful as a Sith but never could quite overcome the power of either of his masters. But, it is noted that as the Dark Side grew in power, so did Dooku during the Clone Wars. It was to a degree that alarmed Sidious. Dooku's frequent duels with powerful Force users only grew his power, and he also studied lost holocrons as well. But, whereas it is true that Dooku had little to fear from the Jedi or Maul, he was never able to overcome Yoda or Sidious in power, though in practice the difference was quite small, as demonstrated on Tatooine, thanks to his incredible mastery with the saber, on a good day Dooku was very capable of defeating Yoda and Sidious.

So, why did Palpatine feel Maul die...when he certainly didn't? Obviously, it's partly ret-con powers; Maul DID die, until it was plot-convenient that he miraculously survived, but then what did Sidious feel, and why? Anakin was a much bigger power, but the Emperor needed to go all the way to Mustafar to confirm whether he was gone, and he should have had a much more solid connection to Vader's essence, if you will. Unrelated, but I do have a curiosity, regarding the Acolyte. Do you believe Disney will "keep" the qualities of Darth Plagueis? At this point, his only "canon" material is a reference in RotS. He wasn't visually in PM, so nothing official says he was a Muun, now, or other details about him, and his relationship with Sidious. Plagueis is a very popular book, but Disney has already basically said they'll change whatever, if it might make a better story, and one reason they burned the EU, and swapped it with the Sequel Trilogy, was so needs like us wouldn't go into the theater already knowing all the plot hooks, and details, of their newer films. Honestly, the big reason I originally wanted to watch the Acolyte, before electing not to, was to try and keep an eye out for a random Muun, or even Bith, hoping this Sith-focused story would flesh out those Sith, but since we don't "officially" know now who "Darth Plagueis" was, or if he even existed, they could totally rewrite his backstory, his species, the time of his demise, and more. I'd like to think they wouldn't; it would REALLY piss a lot of fans off, but we seem to be in a time, now, where their answer to fan complaints is to double down, and say "well if THAT annoyed you, hold my blue milk, and check THIS out!"; see Rings of Power. Do you think Darth Plagueis will mostly survive as we know him, or will Disney "remake" him for our hypothetical entertainment, and their own agenda?
