These narratives/myths that Jordan couldn't go left or he had limited moves are a flat out LIE. Dude up there saying he's a Jordan fan when in reality he's an undercover hater. All he did was bash Jordan. These dudes treat the game like it's NBA 2K and act like there's a huge disparity in skillset. There wasn't anything Jordan couldn't do as a basketball player. He did it in an era where it was easier to double and triple team, little to no floor spacers, the he lane was clogged with bigs and the pace was slower. Shot less 3s and still averaged 30 for his career. With that being said his statistics show the few years he shot 2 or more 3s a game he shot it at 40%. What are we talking about. Let's not even get started on the fact Jordan was one of the most fierce competitors not just in basketball but in all sports period.
@hoffa8873
@hoffa8873 19 күн бұрын
Those few years you're referring to when he shot over 40% from 3 , the line was shortened because the league was boring as hell & the guys weren't scoring enough. So they had to help them out. Did you know during those years , Gary Payton took over 600 3s ? Before the line was shortened , he shot barely 200 3s. Same logic applies to Jordan. We're not giving him credit for shooting 3s on the YMCA line 😂. MJ did a lot of things great , he just wasn't a great shooter , accept it.

@@hoffa8873 Ok yea because Im sure Michael Jordan has never pulled up from 30 ft lol. You don't even realize how crazy you sound. A guy like Al Horford comes into the league as a none shooter and years later leads the league in 3-point shooting percentage. You really think Michael Jordan, as competitive as he was, wouldn't improve his 3-point shot knowing he has to take 3x as many? Bet you wont mention how the NBA has had to change rules to make the game softer and free flowing to make people like you think its that much better lol. Go sit down somewhere

They act like there aren't players today that refuse to go left. The largest gap in skill between the old era and now is three point shooting. What's made the game look so different is data driven coaching and very lack ball handling rules.

I want to preface by saying that IMO Jordan Lebron and Kobe are the 3 best players to ever play and as long as your number 1 is one of those players I won’t ever argue with you because they have different cases for the GOAT title. If I had to pick 1 it’d be jordan based off of skill,talent, impact on winning, impact on the game, etc.. I think has the best overall resume. Jordan’s claim is that he has the best peak ever. Kobe’s would be that he’s the most skilled and won during the most competitive era of the league and most disadvantageous era for his style of play. Lebron’s is that nobody was as good as he was/is for as as long as he was. Basically longevity. BUT this is how I see Jordan vs Kobe game wise: Finishing: Jordan not really that close (Kobe was a great finisher but jordan was like no other) Mid range shot: Kobe(could go either way), I think kobe played in an era where was more difficult to shoot a lot of mid range shots at a high clip and played against tougher defenses in general.(not mad if someone says jordan) 3PT Shot: Kobe, this isn’t close. Jordan was never guarded the Kobe was at the 3 point line and he never really shot enough of them for this to be an argument. Going strictly off of 3pt percentage would be dumb but I’m sure most will. Post scoring: Edge to Kobe, I think Kobe was checked by better defenders both in the post and perimeter while again not having as much to operate as Jordan did give the defenses allowed in Kobe’s era. Kobe took from Jordan and mixed it with Hakeem’s post game. Overall playmaking: Jordan, the edge comes with the fact that he was more of a threat coming downhill and in transition than kobe but they are similar in other aspects. (Will further break down playmaking) Passing out of the post: Jordan, both great at it for guards but I’d edge jordan because he was better at finding open guys and cutters from the post than kobe( again both were great at it especially for guards). Passing out of pick n roll: Kobe, granted we didn’t see Jordan run it as much but I think Kobe is one of the best 2 guards at pick n roll or 2 man games with bigs. Yes what he did with Shaq was great but what really solidified this for me was the years with Pau, LO, Bynum, Dwight etc.. it didn’t matter how athletic a big was Kobe was good at dishing it to them and finding open guys on the perimeter. Scoring in transition: Jordan fasho, not close. Perimeter Defense: Kobe, So I think Kobe while he played in an era where they didn’t always have to check 1 vs 1.. he took it upon himself to do so A LOT I’ve seen Kobe check a wider variety of talent than Jordan on the perimeter even small guards which jordan struggled with. AI, Westbrook, Wade, Mac, Melo, Kyrie, Dame, etc.. the talent from 1-3 in 00-13 is just different. Off ball Defense: Jordan, similar to Kobe in the way that they gambled A LOT off ball and would get caught ball watching jordan was much more successful at jumping passing lanes, helping backside, getting blocks, rebounding etc..Kobe would lock in but sometimes he got caught lacking every now and then.

So you want to drop Jordan to this ERa but not give him time to improve on his 3s? Or learn to defend guards and off the ball players?😅 You don’t want to give him access to the training, conditioning of the players of today? So he’s the only one who’s gonna play back to back, 82 games and no load management? And when he plays the NBA rules changes for that night? 4 guys will be allowed in the paint, no 3 second rule and hard fouls are not flagrant?

Jordon will take as many shots as he did before cuz a coach will adapt to any player who will get him the W. Kobe is Jordan lite. Shot with less efficiency, wasn’t as much of a freak athlete (people who say Kobe was not athletic are crazy) and had terrible shot selection. It’s a miracle he shot 44% considering the shots he took, which is a testament to how good he was, but I feel like he left a lot of meat on the bone that Jordan didn’t. Love Kobe and he’s a top 10 player, but he’s at 5-7 for me.

U CAN'T HAVE A GOAT IN A TEAM SPORT LET'S BE CLEAR AND DEAL WITH THE FACTS. THE MEDIA PUBLICATIONS SPORTING NETWORK PLACED THIS DISRESPECTFUL TITLE OR LABEL ON MJ BECAUSE THEY NEVER WITNESSED A GUARD DOMINANT IN A TEAM SPORT WHERE THE TALLER ELITE PLAYERS HAVE DOMINATED BEING CLOSER TO THE RIM. KOBE HAD TO DEAL WITH MULTIPLE FALSE NARRATIVES THAT TOOK AWAY FROM WHAT HE PASSIONATELY LOVED AND OUT WORKED HIS PEERS AND PLAYERS BEFORE OR AFTER. KOBE HAS TO MANY INDIVIDUALS FROM COACHES AND PLAYERS THAT STATED HIS U MATCHED WORK ETHIC YES EVEN OVER JORDAN. SO IF U GOING TO HAVE A BEST PLAYER EVER CONVERSATION U HAVE TO DO IT THIS WAY AND EVEN THEN IT IS STILL FOOLISH TO SAY BECAUSE ITS NOT A LEAGUE THAT WAS CREATED FOR ONE ON ONE PLAY. SO U HAVE TO USE BASKETBALLS OBJECTIVE VERSUS THINGS U MAY ULTIMATELY BE AWARDED OR ACCOMPLISHED OR THE ULTIMATE SUCCESS IS A CHAMPIONSHIP. BASKETBALL OBJECTIVE IS TO SCORE THE BALL AND THEN DEFEND THE BALL AND IF I ONLY USE THIS AS MY ARGUMENT IT WOULD BE MORE LOGICAL. KOBE HAS THE MOST POINTS AT HIS POSITION ALL-TIME HE HAD THE MOST ALL PRO SELECTION AT HIS POSITION ALL-TIME AND THE MOST DEFENSIVE SELECTIONS AT HIS POSITION ALL-TIME JUST THAT ALONE MAKES HIM THE BEST PLAYER EVER IF I ADD THE ULTIMATE SUCCESS IN THE FACTOR THEN KOBE IS THE ONLY PLAYER IN THE TOP 75 PLAYERS LIST THAT WON BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS WITHOUT ANOTHER TOP 75 PLAYER ON HIS ROSTER YES THE ONLY PLAYER THAT DONE THIS THEN U HAVE THE PROPER CONTEXT WHEN DISCUSSION OF THE TOPIC.
