To add from Indonesian point of View. Many Indonesian viewer says that Kobo is the first "Real Holo ID member", a vtuber from Hololive ID that primarily using Indonesian in most of her stream. (Yet she still try to read all foreign superchats in their native language) Second, prior to joining Hololive, she does not know any of vtuber things or even Hololive itself. This make her pure and untainted and allow her to develop her own stream style instead of influenced by what already established by japan culture. I've seen a lot of factors that made her subs grow significantly, those were true. but there's one that rarely mentioned: She also got massive exposure from famous gaming youtubers/streamers like windah basudara or luthfi halimawan. I still remember windah watch kobo's Plant vs Zombies, praised for her humour and interaction with viewers and praised for vtuber streamer in general because they usually play non-mainstream games, and asking his viewers to support vtubers (because people in indonesia still see vtuber as cringy thing). And after windah ended his stream, kobo's liveviewers immediately grow from 9k to 16k, while a lot of chat said "i come from windah's stream". That's why if you see at trackholo, kobo's graph seems skyrocketing after PvZ stream. Funfact, kobo has more room to gain subs, because she attract normies (unlike other talents who got their viewers/subs mostly from their senpai). Many people admit that kobo is their first vtuber experience. But we still give props to kobo, without her entertaining personality and talent, those exposures will be useless and wasted in no time.

Based on the comments in this video, I guess we can summerize that Kobo just "hit home". Most Indonesians watch her and feel like they're watching their kind. The humor, the chaos, the culture, all that with her singing and music talent, while also looking cute. I think being relatable to your audience really is something that brings joy to them. Like how JP members are just being Japanese with their humor and culture. Or HoloEN being relatable for most english speaking audience. Someone in this comment said that the ID audience feel alienated because even though they're supposed to be an ID branch, they speak english. And I agree with that. And there is some theory about HoloID speaking other language for getting overseas market. Which is fine, the talents can do whatever they want. But, a particular group of audience that is expecting something from them might feel a little disappointed or betrayed. And in this case, that particular group of audience is Indonesians. I am an Indonesian as well, I never really have problems with them speaking english. Is just that sometimes I wonder why they do it. Because I always think that it will probably be better if they can catch a market in a country with 270+m people while being themselves and potentially more appealing to that group of people rather than betting in other market while potentially having some kind of identity crisis and looking like a confused product. But anyway, I think being relatable, real, authentic, and entertaining are the four main factors to succeed in entertainment business, regardless of your target market.
