This storyline reminds me of one from Star Trek Voyager when the character Tuvok a Vulcan was going through the mating season of Pon Farr in which usually the Vulcan would be with his mate, however, since Voyager was in the Delta quadrant, two Va had to settle for expressing some of the emotion with a female that wasn’t his mate. The female very much wanted Tuvok however, a distinction was made by the Vulcan that he could not engage with her. To which the alien female stated cannnot or will not it is only a minor distinction. Tovok replied it is still a distinctionnone nonetheless. Konohamaru as literally “leaf vessel” embodies too much of the wheel of fire, which is all about maintaining bonds. Although Matsuri has Moegi’s Memories and emotions the Shinju is not the real human. Thus her feelings cannot be reciprocated.

[How does adoption in the naruto boruto world work?] Their anger would intensify more if they find out how shinjus operate. If the Sand village rescue mission fails or doesn't go the way kashin koji wanted, shikamaru would not only be in trouble with the village elders but also with his family since there is no way the details of this plan would stay hidden forever. Very unlikely they will show this in the series, but seems like shikamaru is going to have family problems as he continues being a danzo-like hokage - both marriage issues with temari and a strained relationship with shikadai. [I was partially joking with that comment. Shikamaru will definitely have strained relationships with his family as he continues being hokage but I don't know if we will be shown that in the series.] Also, if shikamaru had asked temari and shikadai to review his plan before asking konohamaru to execute it, the first thing they will say is what will happen if it fails and how does he plan to account for that.
