But, allegedly it’s known that if their favorite actor or actress dates someone (or marry) they do not favor, it tilts the scale of a scandalous behavior? Is this what SK netizens do to their own people? Can these bias netizens take care of their favorite actors or actresses, or do they just want to control because their lives are a shipwreck? Very unprofessional and useless of them to react this way, when economics, education, real estate portfolios or common sense will prove they cannot take care of a multimillion and their success. Someone needs to make this make sense.😆. SK actors, actresses, and singing artists should not bend to them especially when they are rich and famous across the globe. This is why more SK actors, actresses and singing artists should learn to speaking fluent English to cross over into more global wide success and not be control by a group of non speaking English nothing to offer society netizens.

I’ve been watching Korean dramas for 20 years, mainly because of the great actresses in them. The moment I saw Kim Young-ok, Kim Hye Ja, Choi JinSil & Lee YoungAe in different dramas, I had to find & watch everything they were in. It is fascinating to me how in Korea the women are the by far better actors & the young leading men are often from wildly popular K-pop groups and are not really actors. Thus they stand there & look handsome or they yell loudly at the female lead all the time because they have to do something & it sort of distracts fans from noticing that they cannot act… the cute K-pop guys might draw some viewers, but the lead actress & the senior actors of both genders are what keep viewers. (Goes without saying that the writing is key as well!)

Its a global issue with all famous women...not only in Korea and not only recently...even in the past they barely maintsin connection they keep getting divorced...simply because a famous woman's dating pool is very small...considering she tends to be rich and successful...finding the guy who is more successful yet taller than her can be challenging...let alone one she can achieve emotional connection with.

A gender wage gap of 31.1% is utterly disgraceful. It is time for females to be paid the same amount of money as males for the same jobs. If you are a female lead in a drama or film, you should be paid the same money the male lead receives. It really is that simple. In fact, an argument could be made that famous female leads should be paid the most money for any given project. But this thinking might confuse some people so let's just focus on evening things up.

South Korean laws prohibit men from getting paid more than women. The reason for the gender pay gap is that men work longer hours than women. It has very little to do with gender discrimination. If companies can get away with paying women less than men, many businesses would simply hire all women. Secondly, male leads tend to get paid more is simple. Supply and demand. Their popularity will bring in more audiences, more audiences come with more views, which will generate revenues. Female leads do work hard, but the male leads typically bring more attention and money to the set, that's why the pay is different. It's simple business 101

@@bradmenpes809 I think you are new to the industry. It's not about who should be paid less or who should be paid more. It's about who pulls more audience towards movie. @maozedong83702 ай бұрын
These things are quite complex. I have worked in analytics before so I know a bit about how this all works. It is quite complicated. Men tend to gravitate towards pretty women or cool dudes, but they tend to not be as overzealous as female fans are. When it comes to women, they tend to just follow whatever is trendy amongst other women that they know. Like a ripple effect, if certain "popular girls" like a certain male celebrity, the women associating with them will start to get interested too and the whole thing just expands from there. Women also talk a lot about supporting other women, but they really don't. It is the same reason the WMBA is so bad and has no fans. If you want to appeal to women, you have almost got to market a product in a cultish type of way otherwise they probably won't get interested. Kim Soo Hyun is probably marketed in such a way that does his, but Song Hye Kyo with her age now among other factors probably just doesn't get the attention. I work as a psychologist now so I know even more about human behavior. These things are jut kind of funny to me now. I find it amusing when a group claims one thing, but all the tests point to another. They can lie to me, but they can't lie to themselves. They know what they want even if they try to hide it.
@Mox20772 ай бұрын
" He makes the creators more money." - that may be true for the sports or music industry, but doesn't translate that directly to movies and TV series ... yes, a popular male actor might draw in more viewers, BUT the female lead is just as pivotal for the success of the series. Female representation in a male band or a male sports team doesn't matter; but you can't have a "romantic comedy" without the female lead (well, you can, but somehow I doubt a gay romance wouldn't really rake up the numbers in the same degree, and definitely not in hyper traditional Korea). Thus it is outright discrimination when a female lead is paid substantial less than the male lead. And in the example of "Song Hye Kyo made less than Kim Soo Hyun"...that might have been the case, but as The Glory was WILDLY more popular than "One Ordinary Day" (I've never even heard of the latter), by your argument, Song Hye Kyo should be paid substantial more than Kim Soo Hyun in her next role because her drama gathered far more attention than One Ordinary Day - and let's be realistic here: We all know that won't be the case!
