It’s a simple problem. Hollywood won’t let villains be villains. Magneto, mystique, black Adam, Kraven, Venom…etc, are all anti-heroes in Hollywood. Just let the bad guy be a bad guy. Even a c-list villain like the vulture was excellent when Michael Keaton was a straight up bad guy.

Magneto, Mstique worked really well in the X-Men universe due to good writing and casting..... Black Adam was st up joke.... Kraven The Movie wasn't so bad but the eh factor of Sony ruined it.... Venom was good for one time, mainly due to Eddie being played by a good actor like Tom. Not anyone can pull off a character like he did... That's my take

Nah, Black Panther died with Chadwick Boseman. The refusal to recast the character and make his off-screen death canon in the MCU sought to that. Look at what we got instead. At least CB didn't have to live to see that.

I'm not even surprised Kraven became a flop, especially with how Morbius and Madame Web turned out. I feel like Sony took the decent reactions to the Venom flicks for granted when it came to making these movies. I just hope that they don't make the same blunder as I think I heard that it's under reproduction and won't be coming out anytime soon next year.

Haven't seen it.. but there's been a trend lately of everyone instantly hating on like every movie that comes out now. 😫 I almost feel embarrassed to admit I liked "Red One". 😅I think the major dislike of The Rock fueled people to nitpick. Even if the movie had some eye rolling scenes, I still had fun watching it.. especially if I were a kid, I would have probably loved it. My Nephews couldn't stop talking about it..

I think Sony and Marvel have been riding it high for so long they have forgotten what a good comic book movie is, thinking "oh lets just push these out they will sell anyway and if not, another film will make up for the loss" Alot of the time its either a character no one cares about, a character not even that well known, or the movie is handed to a bad director/writing team Superhero movies are mainly aimed towards men, lets face it! most of the audience is male, so why does advertising Kravens abs to males make them want to go see it?

I'm bummed that it failed so spectacularly. I was hoping it would still be good, but the script is horrible. It should be analyzed in script-writing classes for what not to do. The CGI was rough too. The animals didn't look real at all and the final battle with Rhino looked quite shoddy. I thought the actors did fairly well for what they had. I would definitely see more movies with ATJ.

Even the Spiderman animated series left behind a perfect blueprint, but without Spiderman, his comic side characters dont stand a chance at a stand-alone movie, especially when the race swaps or gender swap characters. Looks like Marvel has not learned from past mistakes and box office flops like Morbious and Madam Webb.

I guess they want to expand the Spider-Man universe, but these characters are not memorable like other Spider-Man villains. They don't have the same charisma or tragic backstory like Batman villains do to make them relatable and interesting. Venom was a good breakout character. Morbius is a good character, but would have been better off as a secondary hero for a member of a hero party like The avengers. kraven is a good one off or reoccurring villain, but I don't think the character has enough to stand up as a standalone movie. Madame Webb is a very mysterious and interesting character, but not worthy enough for an entire movie. Madame Webb would have been great as a pop-up character, maybe give me Spider-Man some advice. That definitely could have set up the some other things. Would love to see a crossover with doctor strange, and maybe the watcher.

Didn't these Sony Spiderverse movies do pretty good on Netflix? That leads me to think that they aren't that bad just not that good. Unfortunately it feels like a lot of the more recent superhero movies are being made by people who don't like or care about the genre and more often than not the story is just not really there. The ones I saw in theaters were bland and seemed like they were from a bygone era in terms of sophistication (or really lack thereof). Side Opinion: The problem with the Marvel movies like 'The Eternals' and the Captain Marvel sequel were not the same. 'The Eternals' would have fared better if it had a connection to a larger story (that help prior Marvel films) or quite honestly a more compelling story. The Captain Marvel sequel should have just been the main character or perhaps Photon but shoehorning in Ms. Marvel caused the story to lose focus and it became too ridiculous to be either fun or interesting. I still don't know why they did that story. It was so obviously not a good idea. If they had stuck to just the way the first one was storywise it would have at least had a fighting chance. Side Opinion 2: I don't know where to begin with the DC stuff. The recent movies like 'Flash', 'Black Adam' and 'Blue Beetle'. all of which I saw in the theater. With the exception of 'Black Adam' they weren't "terrible" they just weren't that good. They would have been fine for the early aughts but 20 yrs. on people expect something different.

Not sure what the issue with this movie is really. I’ve seen way way worse comic book movies recently. By the same studio… It wasn’t bad , it wasn’t great , it was a fun thrill ride with a new marvel character. I thought it was shot very well , the story generic but I enjoyed all the characters except Calipso , she was a waste only in the movie to carry the mcguffin around. The rhino was fun , I liked what they did with the action/combat scenes. I really enjoyed Rhino and his look. It’s not supposed to be to be gone with the wind people it was leaps and bounds better then the last several Sony Marvel movies , I thought this was better then all but the venoms, I feel they really dropped the ball with venom and how good it could have been. But for some reason Hardy wanted to make it goofy and treated venom more like a AI Ironman suit or something… a failure on all accounts. I give Kraven 5.5/6 out of 10. It’s worth a watch.
