I think the real issue was the Sychological trauma deji experienced last fight were deji was exhausted that clicked in once he got the adrenaline. As an amateur boxer myself he keeps his hands too low, too many telegraphed looping punched, terrible footwork, his wild hyper-aggression charging in which is very unpleasant to watch in my opinion, bad rotation in his feet and hips when he was punching and the list could go on and on. So I really think JJ should humble himself instead of thinking he's some great boxer. He would 100% get destroyed in an amateur boxing match.

Yep, everyone he's fought/beaten is completely new to boxing and a youtuber and I wouldn't back him in against anyone with 2 or more amateur wins against another amateur. That being said, I think he would have no problem against Alex on pure strength and aggression alone (I still would not bet money on it though as Alex still seems to defend himself with his hand, no head movement though). KSI is much more likable when there's no inflated boxing ego involved, however, I do believe he plays his own self-belief up though for the camera/mental warfare, it's just a little less obvious than when Jake Paul does it (like saying he'd beat G Davis, Canelo A, Tyson F, etc...)

Eh, I like when he gets cocky and competitive for boxing. Also no one acts like he’s a great boxer, almost everyone says he sucks at boxing cause he swings wild. I don’t think that KSI himself thinks or acts like he’s an amazing boxer but he does act like he’s the best youtube boxer which is slightly true. Also we can’t just base his skill right now off of a fight that happened over 2 years ago, he might not have the best technique but he still beat logan with it and he’s probably fixed his technique over 2 years. I’m not saying that he’s some amazing boxer but at a youtube boxing level he is very good.

i agree to a certain extent but hes not fighting in an amateur boxing match, hes fighting wassabi so thats irrelvant. He does not have the best technique, or much at all, not the best footwork, punches are telegraphed, but his aggression, which is not the best calculated but still something, won him that match against Logan. He clearly has heavy hands and seeing how Alex fights, it i dont see it going past 2/3. Now for JJs cockiness, if you watched his docu cant lose, it explains why hes this confident. this is why he trains so hard, because he puts it all on the line and has to live by the talk. Ksi 100% knows if he gets sparked by wassabi then his career will be in real trouble, his ego may seem crazy on the outside, but it seems to push him to lengths that many others would never reach. I box as well, but these guys are novices man, im not going to compare them having some training then fighting in sold out arena's with their careers on the line, to amateur fighters, like even me. Theres people at my gym i know would kill everyone in YT boxing, but we're on different paths. In the KZbin boxing scene, that is where JJ bigs up himself, not in the general scene. Not with any of his non technical performances

If someone knows how to throw a punch 🥊 they can still throw a punch even if they get lighter. It's more about the snap, torque, transferring energy from your hips core feet up into whipping insane velocity into your arms is how even lighter guys punch like a race horse. Look at Sean O'Malley for example. He punches with so much velocity on hit shots. It doesn't matter he's lighter than Alex, he would put most people to sleep.

That doesn't work for 2 reasons 1. They aren't in the same weightclass, so size and power wouldn't be a factor and we should only be considering skill 2. Styles make fights, logan is taller, longer reach, and a is not orthodox, whereas Alex is the complete opposite, you just can't compare the two lol. But I will say, someone like Alex who does throw would be better than logan who didn't throw at all and just tried running away. (long read, I enjoy talking sports) His confidence is great at selling a fights but too much confidence becomes an even bigger weakness when you don't have the dedication to follow. KSI isnt fully dedicated to boxing so this ego is a huge double edged sword imo. I think the way Alex is playing it is perfect, he keeps the mindset of being the underdog but has the confidence of winning, what helps build a fighter is being able to acknowledge the strengths of the opponent while believing in your ability to overcome them. Alex kinda had that mindset coming into the deji fight, he knows he doesnt have majority of the fans on his side so he uses it to his advantage by letting deji gas himself up, same could happen with ksi, which I dont want to see tbh. Logan didnt do that, he tried playing ksi at his own game with the fans and lost tho I think logan is better than ksi now based on fighting floyd.

Floyd went easy on him and still beat him with ease, thats a good wake up call for logan and he was able to learn from that experience, before logan was talkin trash he was fanboying over the fact floyd accepted the fight on video. Logan just wanted to sell the fight, he knows floyd is miles better. I brought up the fight because of the experience he gained from it not for just fighting floyd going easy on him. Take mike tyson for an example, he still fast and dangerous despite being 50+, the body can age but unless you have health issues the experience doesnt leave. Boxing is chess not checkers, experience beats brute force 95% of the time.

I think JJs confidence has grown since the Logan fight for the simple fact he knows how much he's improved. He hasn't stopped training (now 4 years since the Weller fight) and then with a pro coach (2 years) - potentially shane mcguigan (okolie and Dubois etc). Honestly for anyone who trains in a sport around the 4/5 year point of taking up a sport it's about the level where you peak enough to make the next step up, into academies, national teams etc. Not saying he is that level but I would like to think that, hes now at a point where the technique he knows actually translates into the ring.
