Dazai and Ranpo are EXTREMELY unrealistic. Some of their feats are beyond logic. Not much L can do here. If Ranpo was in L's shoes, DN would last one ep. Also Dazai never stated Ranpo is smarter than him really. He said stronger and strong can have very different meanings especially in BSD context.

I never understand why people keep saying "If ranpo was in DN it would end in the first episode" which just isn't true. Ranpo legit has nothing to go off and I know someone's gonna say "Ranpo was able to solve a case with no evidence" and that's true but you can still make logical assumptions and he still had bases to go off of. For example you can obviously conclude that the person who commited the crime is in the general area (this would have to be the case as the murder was direct which means the killer had to have been present in that area) and the person who murdered the manga writer would have to be someone who had a personal motive against him because he isn't a random person nor are there any more killings that could conclude a pattern and perferred characteristics for victims but with the Kira case that is completely different. Kira could legit be ANYWHERE and since he targets criminals it's not like you could draw the conclusion that it was done by someone personally of course you can inference that the killer hates criminals but that still wouldn't help. Also the fact that the death note is indirect means that not only is it physically impossible to gather evidence but also it's almost practically impossible to guest who and the area they reside also you can't draw any conclusion and you can't link any evidence to it because it's a heart attack and the killer isn't physically there.

Funny thing is, Dazai isn't even the smartest character in the story. That title belongs to Ranpo, who is an ordinary human in a world of supernaturals. Also, Dazai's power is nullification, it has nothing to do with intelligence.

He's as average as L, but Ranpo manages to solve case on the spot with hardly any details to deduct off and he doesnt even TRY. Not to mention that Dazai's ability doesn't have ANYTHING to do with his intellect. His ability only nullifies other abilities, that's it.

When Dazai and Fyodor were in prison, the organization the armed detective agency was fighting was the decay angels and not rats in the house of the dead. Also, Dazai does have some pretty good detective feats, like in season 1 he already knew that the police guy was the killer of that woman whose body was by the river and even later explained his reasoning to Atsushi at the end of the episode. In the Azure messenger arc when he realizes who the true culprit was ((which could be argued to be in large part EQ but you'd still need deductive and inductive reasoning to figure it out)) and in the first flashback arc when working off very limited information he figured out that Mori Ougai set Odasaku up and even was the one who brought "Mimic" to Japan His fluid reasoning should be above L's, his learning capabilties are extremely high, becoming the youngest ever port mafia executive is extremely impressive.

Dazai’s feat of deduction is even crazier when you consider that he figured out the identity of the masked murderer and somehow figure out that the masked murderer was actually manipulated by Fyodor and somehow managed to figure out what he is planning and somehow managed to figure out his escape route within 2 to 3 seconds And when it comes down to visualisation, his chess game is impressive but what’s most impressive is that he can visualise the whole war that is happening in Yokohama that is influencing the whole world casually after the main villain use the vampire infection to control the military of 20 or so country and was gonna launch missiles from every country, and he visualised all of that from the prison, him and Fyodor almost destroyed the world just playing chess with the world itself,that is a feat of manipulation and visualisation that is to the point of being stupid due to how smart it is, especially when you consider they are in a maximum security prison on the other side of the world I understand that you’re trying to keep it respectful, but when you scale them, the only thing L can take from Dazai is debatably just knowledge. Edit: also let’s not forget that one time where he managed to deduce that a sky casino that existed for 13 years was actually created eight days ago by a reality warping book, even though the book created 13 years worth of memory and history Dazai was able to see through memory and reality manipulation and deduce that it was built eight days ago with the book. I’m sorry but L could never do that. Also light novel Dazai is another level(not including the beast novel because in that novel he is literally night omniscient with infinite memories across infinite alternative universe so we’re not gonna talk about beast Dazai ), like that one time where the main universe Dazai managed to think and process information faster than a supercomputer robot created by the British government itself, he managed to deceive him despite his lie detector function, why people are comparing him to L or Light is beyond me Also let’s not forget that Dazai was in a prison where there is a lock door every 5 to 10 meters each one with their own passcode and the passcode changes every hour with a randomiser function, and this man was just walking through the doors like the passwords were created by him. @@liminal9207 i don't think Dazai scales so high in methodology scaling etc. most of his feats are offscreen. what I'm trying to say is being offscreen doesn't make it non logical. For example take Dazai's number guessing feat. We don't know how he got it right so easily but one can only speculate that he did something similar to chishiya in aib where they had to guess the number from 1-100. On that episode chishiya narrowed down the numbers others could have guessed based on deductions and common sense etc. We can speculate dazai did the same but on an astronomically bigger scale. You can't expect this kind of feat to be explainable in human terms, author obviously can't do that either, he already stated that dazai is 500 times smarter than he is.

And the properties of their Gifts especially when working together could be super effective against the new threat which I won't spoil. So in a way Dazai also have a contingency plan for Fyodor, The new Double Black. chapter 114.5

@@firecinamatic5231 Dazai was doubting whether Fyodor died or not and was worried rolling on the ground, Chuuya and Dazai also found Sigma unconscious have Chuuya apparently made him fall 15 times to wake him up but failed and Dazai's nullification did nothing as well, Dazai guessed that Sigma's brain must be processing the information that he extracted from Fyodor but since it was too much his brain shut down to process it kind of like Atsushi. Sigma while processing information discovered that Fyodor was alive even during 1400s when Bram had his full body and was clearly shocked that he didn't even look like he aged. Dazai and Chuuya go back to the crashed helicopter to investigate Fyodor's corpse, plot twist that corpse was well, like a fake which surprised Dazai and we later discover through Sigma that Fyodor was once killed by one of Bram's Knights but after killing him he started acting strangely. Dazai later found out the true nature of Fyodor's Gift, apparently he doesn't kill by touch, in earlier chapter Dazai theorized that Fyodor must have killed the Special Department agent using Nathaniel's Gift and we discovered that his true Gift is to subsume the one who killed him as the next Fyodor and since the Vampire that killed him was just a tool like a gun or knife used by Bram on top of that it wasn't like he was killed by poison or Dazai's hands which Fyodor wanted to avoid, this is why he let himself get captured, and since the one with the intent of killing Fyodor was Bram Fyodor took over Bram and then stabbed Fukuchi using Amenogozen and Holy Cross Sword, Dazai was shocked after learning Fyodor's true plan and informed Ranpo but was too late, Fyodor's death was part of his plan, through Ranpo's inner monolog we learn that he created a Tripolar Singularity using the Holy Cross Sword that impaled Bram, Amenogozen and Fukuchi's Gift. I doubt that I did a good job of summarizing the events properly so I recommend you to read the manga for yourself. I believe that Atsushi's Gift can solve this Chaos of Tripolar Singularity as his Gift is the antithesis to all Gifts, this is what allowed him to kill Shibusawa who also was a Singularity in Fyodor's words. Atsushi's Gift the Tiger Byakko is also special Byakko is only one of four guardian deities in Chinese mythology/Japanese Buddhism (AKA The Four Heavenly Kings). Each of the four has a designated compass direction.

'dazai would beat fyodor in terms of outsmarting with mid intelligence (Diff?)' Chapter 114(.5): Are you sure about that? Otherwise the videos mostly fine, I think its important to note (despite Dazai still taking VSI) that the chessboard was a representation of the entire Sky Casino and Air port that the events were taking place at, and they were able to visualise things in the Sky casino, to almost everything that happened in the air port before the things even happened. This allowed dazai to go off of his 'trust' for ranpo (in that ranpo would get negotiate with bram to kill fyodor through the vampire piloting the helicopter) as Dazai was capable of visualising this far. But as of 114.5, we learn that Fyodor was capable of doing this too, and had it planned before he even got imprisoned (bro manipulated dazai into using that strategy too) I also think Dazai deducing where Sigma and the Air casino originate from are decent LR feats, along with Dazai figuring out what method Fyodor was using to communicate to the outside which should of been roughly during the Sky Casino arc) So I agree that FRI cgew, but Imo I lean it towards Dazai

ive only gotten to s3 of bungou but i feel like dazais intellect is just really unrealistic, we're told he's smart and he is, but we can't see the thoughts going on inside his head. However, with L we see the build up of him revealing Kira's identity, even after his death everything goes according to plan. When i think about the two characters I will always think L is smarter because we actually see how everything unfolds and why he believes what he does. Dazai though just gets it, which makes him far less interesting in this regard

Your basically putting a Demon made from Darkness with Blood as black as Hell against a human who is smart... Dazai's knowledge comes from his experience in the Port Mafia, his experience with death itself. Dazai is cursed to live. Cursed to survive. Ranpo is one of the smartest beings to ever exist- alongside Dazai. L is strong, but not stronger than those two. I will admit that both Dazai and L are overrated, but i think Dazai would come on top in this one.

It's the same thing as batman vs L, these types of charachter are in different categories. One the author manages to explain the reasoning behind because its realistic the other just do smart.shit and ok, it would be a better battle to do Dazai vs Batman

The only problem is dazai was raised and aware of abilities while L was not like he could have figured out everything and had gotten proof if he knew more about the death note. If L was placed in a world with magic it would be different and death note is a more realistic animation compared to bungo stray dogs I love dazai but this is a point that should be put out there even with Ls quotes you can see that he is a mastermind so in a way L could manipulate dazai or do something to him I think he could pull a win even with that I think dazai Could pull smth off but bsd iq characters are honestly over the top unfairly smart it would be cooler if we got more info on there strategy or smth even with that I do agree dazai would win on a death note vs bsd iq battle 😂🎉❤😊

For EQ, did you forget that L immediately spotted the subtle change in Light’s eyes, as soon as he lost his memories, before Light even said a word? And this was through a 2004 quality security camera. I’ve noticed you often downplay DN characters in your videos, which is wack as hell.

@@OsamuDazai-gk6wt The change in behavior was symbolized by the change in his eyes. Whether L noticed an actual change in Light’s eyes or not, is frankly irrelevant. The point is, that he immediately noticed the most subtle of changes in Light’s attitude, during the split second that it happened. Obviously, Light then became confused, then began to panic and asked to be let out, but L had already noticed the difference before any of that.
