He was training with Piccolo a lot after Resurrection F and even wanted to show off the results of his training when told about the Universe 6 tournament. He just had another commitment with work and it wasn't an end-of-the-world scenario. Not long before the Tournament of Power arc, he had a sparring match with Goku as the Great Saiyaman and fought evenly with Goku at the base and SSJ1 levels. That's the level he was at before going through the really intense training to get the Ultimate form back, very close to Goku at base and SSJ1 but lacking all the other transformations Goku had. In the Manga he did even more training in the gravity room.

Mystic gohan was never on pare with SSj blue. goku literally used ssj2 to fight gohan. Mystic could be around SSG at best. as for the goku kamehemha being stronger than 2 galick guns, kamehameha can draw any amount of ki to increase it's power and goku clearly used every drop of ki he had thus breaking his arms to overwhelm zamasu and after that he used KKx10. the galick gun isn't like the kamehameha and that's why vegeta has stronger attacks like big bang and final flash that are on pare with stronger variations of the kamehameha.

Anime Gohan was comparable to ssjb goku like mentioned, super hero ultimate gohan could fight the Gammas (stated to be comparable to Goku and Vegeta at the time) and manga ultimate gohan stalemated SSJ1 Kefla, would get several times stronger during the Moro arc (Goku says he almost didn't recognize him due to his power increase), get stronger AGAIN during the super hero arc (Ultimate gohan surpassed his previous power by a lot), then get stronger AGAIN via training leading up to his fight with Goku referenced in the video.

Problem with this scenario is that Johan had unrealistic/supernatural manipulative abilities (which is why most of his feats were done off-screen) and endless loyal expendable and somehow also totally dependable henchmen and inhuman perception that straight up didnt make any sense. It personally took me out of the show a lot. I think Light’s story makes a lot more sense in the traditional way (if we just ignore the supernatural aspect of the death note). He made mistakes, he acted emotionally but also extraordinarily intelligently and witty. Meanwhile, Johan was just like an omnipotent terminator batman character. So yes, I guess if we fictitiously pitted them against one another, Johan might triumph. But I think Light is a far more interesting and compelling character because he’s actually flawed. Writing Johan as flawed yet extremely capable and more realistically would make him a better/scarier character. I feel like I never really was on the edge of my seat regarding Johan’s capture because he very evidently never made mistakes and had endless resources, which is kind of cartoony for a show that’s supposed to be grounded in reality with no supernatural elements. Meanwhile since episode 2 of Death Note, I was engulfed in tension, curiosity and anxiety like never before in any other show.
