People forget how importance confidence is in professional football. When a player like mbappe is not doing well, you put your faith in him and start especially when he performs in training. You cannot just bench a world class player if he isn’t performing early on. They’re vital in the long term plans. If you bench them immediately, it could affect their mentality negatively which no club would want with game winning players. Time has already showed how he has turned it around. If he was benched, he could either get the hunger to play, or spiral into thinking the new league isn’t for him despite wanting it so much

Also, considering scoring and being the main man, Ronaldo was very, very selfish. He wanted all the goals for himself. He took free kicks, penalties, headers, and everything else. The only reason Vini has exposure now is because Ronaldo left before he arrived. If Ronaldo had still been on the pitch, Vini would have either been sold to another team or never bought in the first place.
