Excellent insight, I think you have convinced me to embrace writing this way instead of relying on just my subpar keyboard skills (I also am primarily a guitar player) Thanks a million for your continued inspiration.

You sir, are very close to really teach TRUE melodic writing. Please continue focusing in the rythm aspect as this is not found anywhere. How to really create a proper sense of forward movement in a melody. Why repetition is important but only to a certain extent. I don't refer to the classic melody writing tools like augmentation or inversion or anything similar. Thanks a bundle and I think you are close to create something very unique that has not been properly taught yet on the composition standpoint.

Yea it is well worth the time. I stopped relying on midi alone many years ago and it changed my entire world. You just see way more options the better you get and the more you do it, the more interesting your general ideas even with simplistic harmony can get.

I wish I'd found your channel earlier. I've been learning music composition, instrumentation and orchestration on my own for a while now, but some things are hard to learn without going to formal studies like college (I live in a third world country and that doesn't exist here, I've had to rely on stuff on the internet). Anyway, I'll be checking the rest of your videos, haha.

Dorico, I think?

I usually use Dorico but I am faster in notion. This is Notion but I would not recommend it because they have not upgraded in years.

@@RobertDannyDavis Oh, no wonder I missed it, haha, I haven't used Notion 6 in years, but I remember I used to love it. But I can't use NotePerformer on it... And as you said it hasn't received upgrades in ages...

@@mikeluna2026 Yea I actually still have notion installed because it for me is much faster for super fast input as I have had the hotkeys memorized for years. I love Dorico though and use it to really "pretty" things up. One is scratch pad the other is for nice looks. I usually will mock things up with VSL, I just didn't have time for this one to do that.
