That episode was written by men and had a pretty big copout of an ending. Instead of resolving the plot, they just did a stupid pop culture reference. Kent Brockman's daughter convinced him to do a whole news report on Lisa Lionheart, and they expect us to believe that nobody bought it but one person? The writing on this show has always been overrated and questionable. Harry Shearer was complaining about it back in 1992, but it's only gotten worse since then.

Not only that, Mayor Quimby finally goes to jail after he is found liable for Lisa's death, which results in the Simpsons getting a huge settlement from the town of Springfield. But then Moe's goes out of business when Homer quits drinking, so he has to start a cannabis dispensary instead when the new mayor, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, legalizes weed, and the cannabis helps him deal with his depression. Also have Aunt Selma convert to Judaism to marry Krusty the Klown. Reverend Lovejoy is relieved he doesn't have to do the honors yet again.

Season 32 episode 12, "Diary Queen", Bart finds Edna's diary from Ned's Yard Sale, after reading it, Bart becomes motivated to be a better student after he reads her complimenting him. he helps other people at the school, and gets an A on the test, which surprises both Lisa and Marge. After Lisa suspects cheating and sees Bart try to achieve more, she reads the diary and realizes Edna Krabappel wasn't talking about him, but her cat. That caused Lisa to get anxious, thinking that if she revealed the truth to Bart, it will hurt his feelings. Later on, Bart gains confidence and enters the spelling bee, but Lisa knew that he would lose, and she told the truth to Bart. I have to be honest, the other atrocities are awful, but this episode made me hate Lisa. After she told the truth, she felt bad, but soon changed her tune after her Anxiety went away. And it took Ned Flanders to fix the problem, telling Bart that about the family wanting to move, except for Edna, who wanted to stay in Springfield to help Bart and other under-achieving kids. And learning that even though Edna loved the cat, she was actually allergic to cats. And since this episode, I hate Lisa Simpson.

When it comes to Lisa... she had to get into his business and then sabotage Bart's motivations and inspirations to go better in school. And about the episode where Bart becomes hall monitor but Lisa went out of her way to sabotage Bart's job, stole school property, and Bart takes the fall for it while Lisa stays quiet about it. Also the episode where Bart gets a job at the golf course and becomes good at it, then Lisa (along with Marge) sabotage that too. No wonder Bart acts out or doesn't do well, because Lisa and Marge can't handle Bart doing well or being happy no matter how trivial it was. They say Bart is a bad sibling but I don't see it, Bart sacrificed a lot for himself for Lisa while Lisa keeps putting a knife in his back over trivial issues.

I think the episode that started to ruin Lisa for me was when she ruined Homer's BBQ. (Lisa the Vegetarian). I get it that Homer was jealous of Ned's and Homer didn't defend her from the partygooers. The whole episode Lisa is a giant a$$ and had no just desserts. Before that she was a somewhat good character, but that was the domino that made her the worst character. Just a few things from that episode. Homer gave back to the community, Homer got along with Ned and Homer was actually dong a great job. Lisa hated him for everything. I hate Lisa and the political episodes because they make that Lisa and other activist women in the right by default, but they can't have Lisa have anything about her questioned and challenged. They demonize the right, but never the left who is responsible for the division in the country. Remember the episode where Lunch Lady Doris fed Lisa something made out of insects and instead of being disgusted by it (due to her being vegetarian), she instead made a cricket farm in an attempt to harvest and eat them for herself and even considered eating shrimp too just because of them also being arthropods. The fact that Lisa immediately gave up her vegetarianism to eat insects with little to no questions kind of shows how hypocritical she is (she also assumed that the insects didn’t feel pain when she ate them, which is also kind of stupid ngl).

Lisa was my favorite character growing up. In the golden era, I think she had the greatest moral compass and the most interesting episodes, like Lisa's Substitute and the one with Bleedin' Gums Murphy. Unfortunately, flanderization was not kind to her, and she did become increasingly hypocritical and despicable as the years went on. But then, so did almost every character on the show.

Older earlier seasons of the Simpsons were better because characters had nuance to them, whereas modern Simpsons suck. because all the characters are very one note now, for example Bart is a delinquent Troublemaker Homer is a drunk and abusive father Marge is a petty mean enabler and Lisa is a pretentious know-it-all all with a holier Than Thou attitude. I Predominantly spend most of my time online like most people do these days, it's hard but we must remember that what happens online is not real it is not reality, and people are not one thing or the other people are very complex and life is various shades of grey, nobody is truly good or evil, "bad" people do good things for the wrong reasons and "good" people do bad things for the right reasons, humans are complex and impossible to understand. What's important as an individual is that you are kind and understanding of others and respectful of viewpoints other than those of your own even if you don't agree with them, because respect and common decency is important, and variety is a spicy Life and it takes all kinds to make a world.
