If I am not mistaken this was also Bobby Fischer's point of view. That doesn't say they did not study theory, but having started chess at such a young age, theory was easier absorbed, besides that they knew what each opening was about, so they had that advantage already and from there on they could bring their chess to a huge level with their own ideas.

Wonderfull. I usually push that pawn just for the sake of trapping the king or when i dont have moves, but the middle to ending deep is a trouble, there is to manny ways to play. What a clarity of Magnus.

Excellent commentary on a very instructive Magnus’ endgame. Really appreciate how you explain the various tactical ideas that allows white to press his positional advantage and not get tied down to defending White’s passed but isolated d5. This game is worth play thru over & over until the maneuvers & tactics that allow White to leave his passed d pawn undefended are understood & mastered. Really remarkable how each time Aronian countered an idea Magnus thru in another tactic like advancing the g pawn. Endgames are important! (So why am I & almost every chess player I know perpetually put off studying them…? May be the dusty endgame books on my shelf seem just too boring to stay awake..? lol) Anyway, excellent video, great channel… yours is one of my favorites as it actually teaches something about how to play chess well.. instead of showcasing flashy but easily parried opening traps. Cheers!
