It's better to be grateful & thank them, instead of boasting further to an extent where it becomes annoying.. Also everyone is entitled to their opinion & biased about their industry and stars, so it won't be well received if we compare with other industries & degrade their stars.. Let me tell you this. Telugu audience are the best audience in India. They accept every movie regardless of which nativity it is. There are instances where the movies got more collection in telugu states rather than in native states. The reason I am stating this is, movie makers need to promote their films in telugu states so that they can make more BO and increase their audience range twice with single hit film. Look at the fan following for actors like Puneeth RK , Yash, Sudeep, Upendra, Shetty's, DQ, Mammooty, Mohanlal, FAFA, Nivin, Prithvi raj, and many other tamil actors. Except Vijay( especially due to the toxic fan base), telugu audience love all the actors and languages. I request all the other audiences to pressure movie makers to release and market the films in Telugu states so that we can enjoy movie as well.

Hey sriharsh, I am from Kerala and I love Telugu movies. They have been a part of my childhood. We used to have dubbed movies of Allu Arjun and a lot of other actors from Telugu. In fact I would defend Allu Arjun as the first OG Telugu movie introducer in Kerala. I also knew Allu before I knew Rajinikanth or Kamal Hassan. I loved Bunny and Arya and Gajapokkir and Krishna (don’t know what their names are there). I understand you when you say that you would love to watch Malayalam movies there. But there is one big problem. Our stars, even though moderately familiar there, are not valuable enough or have enough stardom to bring Telugu people to theatres. Which means that these movies are highly unlikely to be profitable there. Also, we have to go through additional pains to dub the movies into Telugu which will cost additional investment. And also the treatment of mainstream Telugu movies is a bit different. Malayalam movies are subtle and are more realistic in their making which not a lot of people there will appreciate. But let me tell you something. I am sorry to you for Malayali audiences mocking your movies. There are bad apples in there, but we have them too. More than 95% of the movies released in the previous year in Malayalam failed in the box office. We also do not know how to play the commercial game like you people. The movies are reflective of the culture and expectations of the people from a movie watching experience. Just because your movies are different does not mean that they are bad ( I am replying for the person above who said Telugu films are in a poor state). Remember Bahubali came in from your industry. So let’s appreciate both these, and move on.

@@AnandA2155 well said brother. Thanks for the reply. My assumptions are based on the responses that the Malayalam movies receive from OTT viewership. All my friends and family absolutely love the unique and realistic approach that the Malyalam industry uses. So if the movies in OTT are appreciated at this level, maybe they have better shot at theaters too. But I can understand your point. Coming over here, marketing the movie and advertising it can be very expensive and dubbing it takes lot of time. I hope this situation changes for betterment.

The three movies are on three different genres which make the month February every film enthusiasts, even the common audiences heaven. 1 . Premalu comes as a romantic comedy movie with basically millennial genz comedy , but it works out for every normal audience. The movies made me literally pass out from laughing, and the romance made me feel stuff. 2. Bramayugam is a mystery fantasy experimental movie, which I never thought would work out for this scale of audience. It is so much fun and fresh, and I am wonderstruck how much the man, the legendary actor, Mammootty amazes me each time. It's one of the best indian fantasy movie after tumbad for me. 3. Manjummal boys was something different. Other than being a great movie i am more amased about how it is a real life incident and the story of the selflessness. The artwork, the cinematography the direction acting etc was topnotch. But the main thing was how the movie gave a superhit romantic song a new meaning. The movie talks about friendship and they placed a frickin romantic song there. How did they make it work? Magic. Overall a great start for the year 2024. Special mention for the movie Malaikotta valiban which fell because of bad marketting. It was indeed a great movie and will be a milestone in the Indian film industry. Because of the daring approach. The movie is basically a comic book Specifically a Amar chitrakatha❤. And it does justice to the new genre. The only reason it failed was because it was majorly concieved as a mass masala movie but it wasn't.

Malaikottai Vaaliban was also a gem from Mollywood.Unfortunately Mohanlals fan following destroyed the movie.Rare instance when crazy fans can affect your work

Rightly said Malayalam audience and film makers are more story centric and the characters are relatable, though I am from Telangana, love watching good cinema and of course Malayalam cinema, respect to Mammoty sir and actor of great class and calibre. Star actors playing a negative character, reminds of Legendary Senior NTR garu who played characters of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna umpteen times has played characters of Ravana and Duryodhana during the peak of his career . I recommend you watch Sita Rama kalyanam , Sri Krishna Pandveyam and Dana Veera Shoora Karna.

Totally agree with you..with the fact that we the mallus pay a better tribute in this industry than any one else.Just because we started watching other state movies way before the pan India scene.

They have cracked the recipe of story telling and film making, just need to learn how to sell them too. Manjummel Boys doing well in TN because of Guna connection, and Premalu in TL & AP for Hyderabad connection, Bramayugam is not only doing well its only in Mallu circles, while Telugu its getting bashed in reviews. North nobody has a clue apart from select reviewers and rare breed of non native Malayalam movie fans like me. That makes me Sad, The worst thing is when you have way superior product but dont know how to sell it. They made such awesome posters of Bramayugam, if they just did old school techniques of displaying one in Hoarding across major cities of India would have done the thing, I was just going around in Insta same will be the fate of movie also only on digital OTT.

@@SanithKK No its not the movies issue, people who have watched it, have enjoyed it even in North, except Telugu audiences, its that there is no Shows, it released in 15th Feb there was no other major releases on that week, still only one show in whole of Pune and Kolkata, hindi dubbed no news till date. As of today Bramayugam is out of theaters in Kolkata no shows available, "Hanu-Man" which release on 12th JAN !! still has one Hindi Dub Show running. Same thing happened with movie "2018", Kantara was available in every small town on its 2nd week itself after the hype of 1st weekend in all dubbed versions that was reason for its success not everyone connected with the movie, most audiences in North just ride the hype waves, you just too need to make it available near them at the right time.

@HeimdallWR-if6ub Most of the Malayalam movies don't have the budget like Hombale. I think only OTT option for North India 😔

On one side people of other states critically celebrating these three movies and on other side people are creating chaos of Drishyam remake to Hollywood and giving credit to Hindi remake of Drishyam. As a Malayali, feeling happy on getting acknowledged and also feeling bad when things like above mentioned happens.

The distinction between "Manjummel Boys" and "Tamil Film Aram" is minimal. Both are rescue-based movies, but "Aram" portrays the life of the poor, lacking commercial elements, whereas "Manjummel Boys" depicts the lives of young friends, making it more appealing to the crowd and commercially successful. Additionally, the inclusion of songs by Illaiyaraja in "Manjummel Boys" further enhances its connection with the audience.

premalu and manjummel boys are ok movies with crowd pleasing elements and good technical stuff.Mallus shoudnt be salivating at the thought of their films being accepted outside their state as some kind of validation..Im more interested in the dynamism of this industry tht keeps churning out good cinema as BD did in his review of manjummel boys
