Anyone noticed that in Tokyo 2020, instead of Bowser and Eggman trying to destroy or take over the Olympics, they wanted to trap Mario and Sonic until they die in that videogame machine? Its a darker but dumber plan, because just getting rid of Mario and Sonic, doesn't mean they are free to do any terrorist attacks, because Luigi, Tails and their friends wouldn't sit there and do nothing.

@@DecipheringAngel The thing is, Eggman got ego. He wanted Sonic to feel defeat in shame first. That's why in Labyrinth, he just swapped out the shoes, in Forces, he kept him alive just to be launched in space while seeing the planet conquered, and also why he felt shocked in Riders when he realized that the Magic Carpet was essentially useless even though he won.

Thinking about this, Nintendo absolutely would have been more involved in the real 2020 games. Just in general a lot of brands pulled out of the Olympics due to the controversy surrounding them being held in a pandemic, even those who were right on board with supporting it in the years prior - Nintendo was definitely a big one headlining the Rio closing ceremony in 2016.

London 2012 was the peak of the franchise imo. All the regular events were very well made and fun, the dream events were the most creative and fun they’ve ever been, and the presentation was top notch. Then it all went downhill from there. Sochi 2014 was really bad, Rio 2016 was mediocre, and Tokyo 2020 was only just pretty decent. (I know this isn’t what the video is about but still)

I totally get you, I been playing the Wii version of London 2012 here and there for 9 years now and I truly think is the best one by far. I wanted to get Tokyo 2020 but after watching a walkthrough of that game, I realize the game isnt really as great as London, so I didn't buy. I hope if Sega make a new game in Paris 2024, they improve upon Tokyo.

@@nachobaeza I did actually, its a very fun and engaging single player experience. The 6 areas in this game are quite big and there are plenty to do. I think this is the best approach to do a Story Mode, a big map to transverse, filled with characters and challenges.

3:24 To be somewhat fair, in some of the Sonic games, Eggman can still do seemingly legitimate events without intervention like publicly arranging a hoverboard racing tournament with the entrance fee being the Chaos Emeralds (aka publicly-known mystically stones with godly powers) and no one bats an eye. Then again, the TailsTube videos explained that the reason why they weren't any government intervention during Sonic Forces, was because Eggman was capable of wiping them out immediately in just a short time.

Sonic's speed comes largely, but not exclusively, from wearing magical shoes. Changing shoes can slow him down considerably, and he's sportsmanlike enough that he'd willingly do so for a competition (just like how he drives cars in several racing games despite running faster and having a better turn radius than any available car).

I wish there was a different type of Sonic & Mario cross-over game thing, but idk how it would be done and not be generic because you could make it a fighting game like Smash, but with a focus on both series instead of Nintendo owned series, maybe an rpg, maybe something like sonic generations but instead of dealing with time, it deals with universes and dimensions. I mean, you could also do something akin to Mario bros Z but with differentplot and characters so that it includes more sonic characters (mainly because I dont like the axom Rangers), but idk 🤷🏽‍♂️

My idea is a rhythm platformer. The best part about the Mario & Sonic games are already their amazing remixes. Take advantage of that and make sidescrolling levels themed around them. I imagine something similar to Harmo-knight or the music levels in Rayman Legends. Mix level themes from both series and have a fun crossover plot with occasional cutscenes. Make stages hard to master but fun to play. And maybe have different paths for Mario & Sonic to accommodate different movesets or something.

I would like that in a future installment (if they wanted to make a new one), they should remove that exclusive characters in a single Olympic discipline and that they are playable in all of them, like Rosalina who in Rio 2016 could only be used in Gymnastics (I would have loved to see it in the Box or all the disciplines of that game), and in Tokyo 2020 it can only be used in Surfing, and also that it has a more elaborate Adventure or Story Mode and that all of them could be used the characters in that mode

This video was hilarious. Lots of fun observations and comments that are relevant to my own likes! Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is super funny because it's like one of the only Mario Spin-offs that wouldn't make sense in actual Mario canon. Like Mario sports, party, RPGs, and Kart games all co-exist and reference each other. They're all canon. But then you've got the Olympics and it's like... there are too many questions. There are no references outside of the series. Where are the normal earth humans spectating and competing? Is this a post-apocolyptic Earth? How does Mario know Sonic?? Also Sonic just straight up has his own solo Olympic Games series, which would mean the Olympics happen TWICE in Sonic's universe. Regarding Bowser Jr's age, he's likely 2-4. He's classified as a baby character, and given his resemblance to Baby Bowser in the Yoshi games, he can't be that old. Which also would make it funny how he has appeared in 5 separate Olympic games, over the course of a decade without aging.

Seeing your stick figure at the beginning in his actually very serious dilemma that he's taking so lightly, reminds me of the movie frozen. And no I'm not talking about the Disney when I'm talking about the movie Frozen that came out before the Disney one that's a live-action film when a group of three people are stuck on a ski lift as the staff working there closed it down because it was night and it was closing time. Unfortunately for them even worse is that it was closed for the weekend so they were stuck there for a few days and had to find some way to get off without well falling to their deaths. I'm glad your stick figure is able to make light of the situation but actually no it's a very very serious one that nobody should ever be in. Oh yeah and they have to not get killed by wolves if they manage to get down from the ski lift since well you know nobody else is there.
