I see another issue with fully mirrored masks: If your buddy can't see your eyes, he might not see that you are having problems, starting from a foggy mask up to being unconscious in the worst case. Like with many considerations about equipment, this may be an unlikely event, but you know the saying about scuba divers and virgins. Their first mistake may be their last.

@Bence M.S. It‘s what they tell you in the rescue diver course. I‘m with you, chances are it will never make a difference. But that’s the case with many standard safety precautions.

@Bence M.S. I guess they are okay in the middle ground. I wouldn’t recommend them for newbies, but at the other end of the scale neither for instructors nor stuff like cave diving.

How do polarized lenses work under the surface? Or are they only intended to benefit above?
@Daveador8763 жыл бұрын
Hi guys, what about prescription lenses? Unfortunately if you need glasses you are limited in what mask you can buy. I'm looking at upgrading to the scubapro spectra so I can replace the lenses with prescription ones.

After a couple futile attempts with stick-on "gauge reader" lenses I jumped up to prescription ground lenses (using the Scubapro Zoom mask). I was blown away at seeing what I was missing! Full disclosure; they left a huge hole in my wallet, but WOW!!! Something to seriously consider.

@@Mike-bq4ot I currently use a tusa splendive 2 mask with fitted lenses but as all of my gear, apart from my compass and computer, are from scubapro I want it too match. Its just a pain having to add £60 to the cost of a £60 maskp but worth it being able to see

@@Daveador876 I'm at an age and stage where having my gear match isn't even on my list, never mind being near the top. The optics lab out in California with whom my local dive shop had previously done business had Zoom lenses on their list of blanks they could use to grind my specific prescription. So, I bought the Zoom and sent my prescription out to the lab. They ground the lenses and shipped them to my dive shop who installed them in my new mask for me. My cost was significantly higher than you've quoted but still worth it to me.

Here is a real good question for you I've watched several of your videos and about your mask and stuff like that what about people that were prescription glasses that dive. What about the different lenses and prescription lenses that you can get for your dive mask?

Mark, what does it take to get that hoodie in black and red?
@ioannisstavrou26775 ай бұрын
nowadays always use your finger ONLY to wash them and dry them only with air ! Why? you can scratch the inside glass. But don’t worry can be repaired. What is happening? Now they use ceramic coating!! Can be easily scratched but hard to remove!

Choose your scuba mask wisely.. My mask's glass shattered and it was ony eyes and I thank God it didn't get in my eyes I would be blinded.. The good thing and also the strange thing I was on surface snorkeling.
