I had an argument with one of the fanatics on Mooler's channel and he claimed that "Well, there were DARK elves in Scandinavian mythology..." But nowhere did it say that they were pitch black and looks like subsaharan Africans. I also noted to him that the Vikings had never been further than Morocco (at least, if we talk about recorded information) and had only seen Moroccans. Besides, no one talked about the elves, because the changes affected the giants (at least in mythology Angrboda is a giant) But my opponent simply ignored my arguments and tried to gaslight me. When I told him that the only time I saw a black person was when a town came to my town (no joking), my opponent called me a redneck, while missing the point that this stuff are alien to countries that did not have cotton pickers.

I'm not a God of War fan and I won't pretend to be one. However, even I remember that it was a game about KILLING GODS. And she was cruel and edgy enough to be on par with Manhunt in various videos on the topic of violent games. Now God of War has no identity and is no different from other games. Skyrim also had Nordic style and tokens... But at least, its mythology is not a direct borrowing from the real one and the player is free for most of the game, which does not impose tokens on him. Yes, Redguards exist, but on the scale of the Skyrim - it's nothing. But when the game is basically a movie, where the cast of characters is limited, then girlbosses and tokens will not only be inevitable, but also take up an unacceptable amount of screentime. I don’t want to look at these grimacing faces, especially if the developers demand money for it. Even if you forget about politics and all that stuff - this stuff is just very distracting and annoying. It reaches the point of absurdity - House of Dragon didn't have jesters, because "that would make what is happening not serious enough", but at the same time, they turn the series in the circus of freaks.

Well, music is partly a subjective concept, just like “soul”. But there are some objective criteria, such as experience. Typically, people who have listened to more music will evaluate new things more strictly or at least react less impressionably. I know because I was and partly remain a music nerd, and people who listen not only to hits from popular normie-bands, will react. This is elitism, of course, and that's douchеy, but it's true. People who have tastes and standards will be stingy with praise. They will not praise some epic fart, which was not even performed with the participation of a live orchestra. No, this is made by a generic dude who makes generic slop, including for Rings of Power, which Mauler publicly scolds because people universally agree to dunk on this series.

The other choice I choosed to show how good video game music stands out on it's own. Mario theme, Zelda theme would be remember by even the ppl who never touched a game, but they are so memorable that you can hum it's melody easily. Even GoW 3 theme feels much unique, even if never saw or played GoW (greek ones), that theme song on it's own showed power and rage and it also stick around. This is like the scene from Amadeus. When Salieri played his own opera melody, the priest don't get it. But when he played a melody from Mozart, the priest immediately recognized it. Modern cinematic music is just there to be filler, not bad but don't stand out. Older Video Game music has souls in them, they will be remember for a long time just like Mozart.

@@husky6672, Well, speaking in terms of games only, I'm more of an ambient guy. I like it when the music is barely audible and barely music, but still memorable. Like in Fallout 1, 2, Dungeon Keeper 2 (to a degree). Although I understand what you mean in terms of old games. I really remember the soundtrack to the Rocklin' Kats, but I may be biased here because I played it too much. As for more "modern" games, I don't remember many soundtracks, to be honest. Maybe because I haven’t played too many games, but I can highlight Star Wars: Republic Commando and Devil May Cry 4, although I wouldn’t say I’m a big fan. So I can partly agree that soundtracks in games don’t evoke a response now, but I haven’t played many games and stopped playing new ones somewhere after 2015. Games simply stopped appealing to me, at every new presentation, not a single title which I would like to buy.

I fell out somewhere EFAP 100 of consistently watching. Believe it or not, they actually used to get new guests and was great to find new channels I liked, and a variety of commentary was fun. Now , it's just Mauler's marionette show with has-been youtubers, that he thinks adds to his critic credibility. Personalities there bore you to death, or annoy you to death. It just reached a point to where the show never improved. Main cast never got there sheit together with filmography to ever explain movies quality beyond surface level, Mauler never learned to corral the cacophony of multiple people speaking up, Rags never learned to be a normal person, guests got boring or became apart of a underwhelming clique of perma guests, and some of it isn't their fault - a lot of people just needed to confide in a YTer or podcast to rip modern media to shreds... but that was years ago. Efap was very early showing up to the race, and they fell far behind. Maybe some can be overlooked, but maybe Mauler shouldn't of abandoned his main channel's content which is why he's watched in the first place. It's not just the incomplete series, but the majority of the audience would like to see his refined critiques rather than the discord group call quality media discussion, if they can manage to stay on topic even. And with all that said, has time to do do a hours long takedown because a guy on internet didn't like a game he did, ultimately? All that just made me become a fan of Synth.

I watched EFAP, long before seeing Synth, and it's terrible. This is basically a conversation in a smoking room between office nerds, only dorky and asocial ones. Even when they invited guests that I was interested in, it didn’t matter, because streaming is a sluggish mess of mumbling. The streams are so long that there was one time when I caught the broadcast at night, then woke up in the morning and looked at YT and the stream was still going. Yes, someone says that “this is subjective and this is a form of content”... But this logic doesn't work when EFAP pretends they have a social life and are normies, when in fact - they ain't in terms of internet obsession. Not only Mauler - all his friends are constantly online... Which makes their takes on "chuds" and 4channers seem hypocritical. But in terms of tastes and political beliefs, they are totally normies. And they have zero self-awareness, just like their viewers. No one ever jokes about Rags' sexuality, despite the fact that he is an open homosexual and a furry. And he is so proud that he said that he would cope with the Taliban if they came to his home. This was especially absurd after the retreat of the US. If he had even a little self-awareness, he would joke about bacha-gazi or something. But i digress. EFAP pretend that they are normies, although they are terminally online, which affects the video and the quality of the content. You can’t stream all the time and still make high-quality videos... But Mauler and his viewers furiously pretend that these two time-related facts are in no way connected. Therefore, fanboys continued to justify the delays of Mauler's video about Game of Thrones, even when the series ended, everyone forgot about it and people just moved on. Although I wasn't really looking forward to Mauler's review of the finale, because his videos are terrible. He probably doesn't even watched the show and just took popular arguments from fans of the show and stretched it out for the video. If he had watched the seasons of show back to back, his reaction would have been completely different, believe me. But I was partly hoping for a review of the finale to expose and confront Mauler for his tourist knowledge and bad takes. I mean, there's a guy who makes comparisons to the book in a video that's less than an hour long. This is not rocket science. But Mauler's fans pretend he didn't have to make comparisons to the book in his three-hour video. But if there are no comparisons, why take so much time for a review? To nitpick every little things that are not important to the audience and will be forgotten after watching the review. So yeah, Mauler really pays closer attention... To things that are not important, because even if the authors improved the points he talked about, the last season would not cease to be a disaster... But it would trigger Mauler’s autism less, yay. Because he is not a film critic, although many imagine themselves to be one after the release of Star Wars from Disney and other slop. Mauler was a very niche Dark Souls YTber and did not collect more than 100 thousand until the trend and demand for criticism of wouk gargabe appeared. However, Mauler vehemently avoids the topic of wouk, larping as centrist... He pretends that woukness does not affect quality and should not be considered at all as inserting real life politics. However, in reality, the opposite is true - because of these moments, the films and series didn't age well, because they would be too tied to the time when they were created. No one will remember them like it happened with blaxploitation movies and such. In addition, inserting of woukism requires extra-time, extra-money and extra-efforts from the creators, which could go elsewhere. If this is too abstract for you, imagine if in place of every girlboss or token black dude there was an interesting and thoughtful character. This is what Mauler deprives the audience of, because in his opinion it is not important. It's the little details that are important that may not even exist for most viewers/players, nor for the in-game or in-universe for the characters. He also doesn't criticize the obvious blackwashing in House of the Dragon, where the whole point is the whiteness of the Valyrians, who are local elves and Germans... And the purity of the Targaryens, which are basically a Habsburgs, not a Hoodsburgs.

Quarter Black for instance was playing Sniper Elite 5 and never once mentioned the black Scottish spy in a WWII setting. And I understand - he couldn’t call a friend, but that’s part of the problem with these collaborations. They make people less honest because they try to suck up to each other. As for games - I don't think you need to be a skilled gamer to notice the same messaging that in movies. It's more a question of fairness and popularity of games that people love more than movies. I mean, a movie is an hour and a half experience, a game is much more, so people are more emotionally attached to games and are ready to turn a blind eye to the flaws and propaganda.Although I note that one token cannot ruin everything. Fallout 2 had black Karen, but she is not present enough to ruin the whole game.

Az is a massive crybaby. When he was playing the Witcher 3 remake as slow as possible, although this is a GRAPHIC remake and the plot has long been known to everyone for seven years already. He hangs around for about an HOUR in the prologue, which can be completed in MUCH less time.
