I'll be honest, I really hate META for having me pull characters I don't love that much especially in HSR. I love Acheron so I had to pull for Jiaoqiu and soon Aventurine. I wanted my Jingliu to do more damage so I had to get Robin. I don't hate them but my level of interest is definitely low. Meanwhile, characters I love like Serval, Yukong and Guinafeng are almost impossible to use in endgame content. HSR is turn-based, making it difficult to clear without a solid team and Meta is the only way to go. Being unable to clear endgame content in that game is not related to skill issues but to Unit issues and those great units will be quickly get powercrept by installing new mechanics. Truely, they are doing whatever it takes to make us pull for Meta characters

Yup, this is very true. In star rail I find myself pulling for characters to support the characters I actually like. Im in the same boat for trying to get Jiaoqiu (failed the 50/50) and Adventurine purely for Acheron.

I agree with you. I use Aalto as main DPS and he's surprisingly good. The reason I do it is, whenever I get Aero main DPS, I cand just swap the echos on Aalto to whoever it is. Really practical. I post Aalto's showcase on my channel too if you like Aalto but are doubt to build him.

Sometimes it’s not about the 100 astrite but about feeling of accomplishment when you fully clear endagame. Sometimes it’s about dominating hard content and improving your team as much as you can to get a fast clear .

This video should go viral! The problem I see, especially in HSR, is with supports. For example, Ruan Mei, Robin or Aventurine are really meta. While I personally love them both, I can see why some people "have to" pull for them to improve the teams of the characters they love, and is like this because the game is turn based, not like genshin for example. In Wuwa I just recently started trying endgame content and I think I only was able to get the two first rewards, and that's okay!! It's not worth it to pull for characters you hate just to pass endgame content, because as void said if you spend those whatever "currency name is" into a character just to pass endgame content, those rewards will always be less than the quantity you pay to get that character

Danjin, Noelle, Dehya, Gepard, Anton Main here! Chasing meta makes the game boring and stale. If you can clear everything with full stars with minimum effort, what is the point of playing the game? Starting off with the lowest point lets you have a goal much higher up and gets you more fun during play.

What I know is that some players like playing META and that META can be useful if I want to play my favourites. Like I know Ganyu, my favourite is not as strong than the new characters. But with the META, I can search what are the best ways to play her. Like her best or new best weapon, artifacts, her teams, even constellation if I want to. It's not neccesary to play META but it's useful for the characters you like. I don’t really associate the toxic mentality with all the META players because I know some of them just want the best for the player. It's my opinion tho, I haven’t really face toxic META players. They instead tell what I can improve in my account.

The main problem with meta are these ppl who are obssesed with it (i was like that too) i used to love hsr so much so i decided to save a lot and just use 4 star for the moment and i was able to clear everything, at the end i pulled for meta just to realize that i was not having fun, yea i do a lot of damage and can clear all the content but what after it? I had no char i liked because i thought meta was just the way to play, it didnt matter how much dmg i did i just didnt feel like playing, i decided to create a new acc and i'm having fun with the chars i like, yea i may clear slower or won't be able to clear all the endgame but what is the point if i will stop playing because im not having fun. Meta isnt that bad if you know what to do with it, if i get a dps i really love and want to make it better no matter what i pull meta, just dont forget to pull for chars you like even if they are bad, you can make them better

People need to understand whoever you like, for whatever reason, can always clear. I main Changli and Navia in their respective games, because I like them. I dont like Jiyan, and you cannot tell me otherwise. Same way I hate Neuv. One can always play whoever they want, a game is for fun and playing meta characters may not even be fun for you or others. i have rules in playing gacha : 1. is the MC playable (some gacha games have MC that isn't playable right). if yes i will use that MC no matter what... 2. MC should always relevant (not necessarily the strongest, but can't be the weakest as well)

Might be a dumb statement of me but focusing only on your favourite and make stronger so that they can clear the hardest content in the game can be see as Meta. Like for example, let’s just say you really like Yoimiya. She is strong but not as strong than the new strongest characters. But you can search what can make your Yoimiya strong enough to be able to clear the hardest content. Like her best weapon, artifacts, teams and the pick the one you want. So, when some players says they don’t play meta but see how well their teams, I’m not know what to say 😅 My opinion tho 😅

Meta doesn't matter as long as the game is single player or single player focused. But in games with heavy PVP modes, like FEH, meta does matter if you want to partake in said PVP modes.

Before watching the video, yes meta absolutely matters. But not for seeing big pp dmg and arguing who did more dmg. I use meta to pull character that would help me clear content even with low investment. Gacha games is 90% luck based. I didn't have a single good pyro goblet since 4 years till I built one using elixr ant that too isn't that great, just usable 20cv. We need luck to pull chars and weapons, Luck to crit, And most evil of all,luck for getting decent artifacts/echos whatever. I have 2 accounts One with arlecchino neuvilette and raiden c3 Another has xiao yae mualani Guess which performs better all the time? The first one. Because those characters are just way better.

The meta character are like investment, it helps us do the endgame content (spiral abbys, moc, tower, etc) quickly without us having to think really hard, unlike using old/fallen off chara. More meta chara u have, more primogems u can get per spiral abbys (atleast without thinking), more chara u can pull, etc. The solution is pretty simple actually, make endgame content to NOT have time/cycle limit, or atleast make it like wuwa hologram, manageable with 1 chara as long as you have skill to dodge. On hsr u could have enemy dmg increase per cycle instead of stupid cycle limit. So yeah, meta DO matter, atleast for people who want to full star endgame without going substat roll bs and sweating with non-meta chara.

Idk other games, but in WuWa case is not difficult to get all the rewards from Tower of Adversity. While I 100% agree that ToA should not be a time gated content, it's easier to beat compared to other similar modes from other games. What's more, in this current cycle, Kuro increased the buffs from the left and right towers, making even easier and faster to clear them, even if the character in question doesn't have a good synergy with buffs. There are many videos of Danjin mains soloing almost all the content with purely their skill (and let's honest, their gear is really, really good too). For me ToA should be a skill based mode, just like hologram bosses, but with a bit easier and forgiving patterns while still being challenging. You want the reward? Then learn almost all the patterns and learn how to parry or dodge the boss. Kuro could even make different difficulties without astrites, but useful materials like forgery ones or credits.

Meta will always matter Meta is clearing content with an account with low investment Meta is being able to clear every content to always guarantee premium currency specially if you're free to play Meta is investing on units that have the most universal use case and longevity specially when power creep is on the way Meta is carefully planning your resources on games that give you a time limit and RNG Meta is also available on weaker units. You could strengthen them and optimize their gameplay, that even these weaker units could always clear content. Meta is not a bad thing, its actually the most helpful thing specially if you got the worst luck in echoes and pulls

Im sorry but the point of meta is not which is better but which is faster. Gacha game are not normal game. Normal game you can enjoy it however you want like this video said, but the speed to clear content is incredibly downplayed in this video. FGO changed the game when they introduced servants that can clear mob in 1 combo, an activity you have to do every single day! That is meta defining characters that you pulls. You can clear content with mc, barbara, Noelle, Fishl but it will make your life a living hell. Gacha no matter what types it advertised is still at the end of the a resource management game. Saying you don’t need to do any of that is like saying you don’t need to play the game. And meta does not matter is utterly WRONG.

I definitely understand your point. Meta does matter to an extent, but I dont believe it should be the end all be all of any Gacha Game. I havent played FGO unfortunately, but I can understand how being able to do your dailies much quicker is a game changer. The same goes for if a certain character will be the perfect fit across many different game modes. With all of that being said, it really depends on the person's perspective. Using "The Best" vs using "Your favorites" can greatly dilute the amount of fun you get out of a game.

I have played Genshin since launch, I don’t have any archons because I don’t like them, I don’t have Kazuha or Xilonen because I don’t like them, I use Dehya because I like her. But there is a different between loving your characters and spreading misinformation.

You can use whoever you want, but if you dont take the time (or money) to raise them, then you cant complain about not being able to clear the harder content, since you decided to go with the character that isnt "meta." So the trade off for using your favorites might be a harder time clearing content, but sometimes, that tradeoff is worth it.
