Frank Jaeger and Olga Gurlukovich tbh really hold the themes of invisibility at the core of their character arcs in a very similar way to raiden, imo. All three characters holding the archetype of the "robot ninja", using the concept of a robot ninja to strip their entire humanity away, similar to characters like robocop, whilst still retaining something inherrently human and visible by those most closest to these characters too

With out having an attentive relationships as a child it does cause one in adulthood to have issues connecting with other adults. Who knows what kind of foster parents he had. I can see a larger argument being made for not just invisibility but irrelevancy. War is made by a government of people the furthest away from the front lines. They take kids in their teens, well before they have time to establish an identity, and those who died are left as haunting memories, and those who lived are haunted by who they were before, and who they'll never be after. When Big Boss found MSF, whatever his intent at the time, the draw was from those who were irrelevant to their home countries. MSF was a calling to those who felt their purpose was made clear daily by their lack of connection to the civilian world. With Diamond Dogs, Outer Heaven, the idea was just modernized and propagated by the newest war, and the newest threats. Today more than ever I feel humanity feels what soldiers have felt for centuries. Part of that comes from MGSV, and the rest from the pandemic. I have also increasingly felt my own irrelevancy from my time in service, but also from constantly failing to escape my own traumatic history, and feeling more and more lost with my identity. I don't even know who I am anymore, and I don't even feel a need to try to be anything any more. Each day I awake as a true phantom, and continue living a life that feels both unfamiliar, but also too familiar.

@@Circ00mspice you'd think so but unfortunately it truly is a "scene" full of scheming- basically a local popularity contest where those outside certain cliques get excluded. As a primarily Metal Gear & video game cosplayer, I get looked over for others doing more likeable things like Marvel/DC or even current season anime cosplays. To top it off, I'm actually interested in cosplay as a hobby and making new friends but the main draw these days seems to be treating it as a "Tinder-Lite" where every guy is trying to get laid with what they think is the "perfect otaku" potential girlfriend. Female cosplayers know this obviously, so they tend to string new guys along to get OF subs and follows on IG. Cosplayers in my local area don't tend to last very long, particularly the guys.

I can't help but to eather roll my eyes or mute the audio when this song comes on. The fact is that it has no real connection with the game and just sounds like crap makes me hope it phases out and is replaced with an actual mgs song. I get its meaning correlates with Venom Snake, but it just seems out of place in a series with a lot of better and more relevant songs. Every time i hear the song in an mgs meme, it's like using boys in the hood for TF 141 or something. Also, the fact that INVISIBLE has replaced songs like "Nuclear" or "the man who sold the world" as an audio mascot for mgsv seem out of place and kinda forgets the roots of the game.
