My definition of a successful season is how we do against osu and msu. If we consistently beath those two year in and year out, it's considered a success to me. Hence, this season is a huge success!
@collegefootballwithsam11 күн бұрын
I understand that sentiment, and I enjoyed the rivalry wins, but don't you think it sucked to be 7-5?
@xolborg11 күн бұрын
@@collegefootballwithsam Oh yeah, 7-5 sucks. No doubt. My point is that I can live with that as long as we beat those two. In extreme, a 2-10 season with wins against osu and msu would be better than a 10-2 season with a loss to them.
@xolborg11 күн бұрын
That's why it was so funny to me when Jack Sawyer yelled at Michigan and said "Your season's over!" Yep, he's right but who cares. I guarantee that majority of osu fans would choose a win to Michigan over a chance to win a natty.

Yeah, you lost me at Lamar Morgan! That man put in work with what he had and got some of the highest rated recruits in our 2025 class. Grant Newsome had a young ass line. He didn't have the experience that was there from 21-23. This is lazy work. Go Blue! 〽️🏈✌🏾
@collegefootballwithsam11 күн бұрын
Go Blue! I don't think it's lazy work when Will Johnson regressed compared to last year, and DBs were taking bad angles all season long. Towards the end, the defense was finally figuring things out, and I will be happy to be wrong, but I think the performance this year was downright unacceptable. Newsome did have a young OL, but I was disappointed in how the center position could never be figured out. Hopefully, the remaining staff will exceed my expectations and have an elite season in 2025. I'm just providing what I see.

Sam I enjoy your takes but I think you’re overreacting with the position coaches. Wink and that staff were a work in progress all season and the fact that they realized Paige was better at Nickel and moved Barry outside the adjustment beat the number 1 offense. Not to mention that they are both a big reason for the successful recruiting class. You’re saying that they need to immediately fire the guys who just brought in key players at their positions. Maybe they had some issues during the season but the body of work as a whole which includes recruiting is adequate.

What staff needs upgraded? They replaced Kirk with solid OC, so they are set. Just need to add some analysts etc since no limit now.

Chip runs a power spread offense. You’re correct the running game does complement well with Michigan likes to do but also they’re gonna spread it around.
@collegefootballwithsam11 күн бұрын
That's exactly why I said he runs a power spread. Michigan's offense was a spread variant this year, too (and has been ever since Gattis), but it lacked creativity and the players to execute the scheme.
@florida128911 күн бұрын
Hiring Chip is a sign of moderate change, more update then wholesale change. I think our offense with Bryce will look like Baltimore/Lamar Jackson current offense. Chip worked under Todd Monken Baltimore OC. I'm guessing here but I think the change that we'll notice as Michigan fans will have more to do with tempo and increased passing splits like 55/45 instead of the 60/40 we been known for.

If they get Barham and Houseman back- get a starting D Lineman, a couple starting O Linemen, Starting WR and CB, and Billy in the Portal- THEN they’ll be okay! (10-2 hopefully!)

I'm cautiously optimistic about next year, we'll see how the coaching changes effect the team. My personal definition of a successful year is to beat Michigan St. And Ohio St and go 9-3, though admittedly my expectations are a bit low until Moore gets 3 years into his career and I can examine a bigger body of work.

Michigan is not moving on from Lamar Morgan, BJM, or Newsome. Get that out of your thought pattern and assess from there.
@blakesir427911 күн бұрын
Agree. Great recruiters. Lamar Morgan might be our best in years Recruiting is a huge part of recruiting Newsome might be the future M head coach. At least Harbaugh Believes that

I said in the video that they probably won't be fired, but the results were disappointing, and it wasn't just because of the QB play or play calling (though that was most of it, but Ron Bellamy for example had a horrific year). As for their recruiting, I think they are doing well, but also remember that money talks and Michigan's NIL is much bigger than it has ever been.
@blakesir427911 күн бұрын
Probably won’t be fired ? I guarantee they won’t be fired. Name a better recruiter in the big ten on defense than Lamar Morgan. He brings iin maybe best db class ever and you call him out? I hope he’s getting. A pay raise

At the moment even with easy schedule just don't see what stands out for michigan vs the competition right now. I had them around 7 or 8 wins new OC seems decent maybe 9 now but losing a lot on D and best offensive player. OL is okay. Freshman unproven QB not sure who they can get in portal though yet. I think over 9 wins might be unrealistic due to roster. Probably 2 years out from 10 or or more wins. I think only Indiana might regress a bit next year but top three still Oregon, Ohio st, Penn st I'd say.

the schedule is very favorable idk how u can see 5 losses on there

The team was really young this year.... it definately took longer to come together for the defense. Even wink said it took awhile to build up the 2 deep.... the offensive line took way too long to get out together which makes qb play almost impossible... don't know why it took forever to figure out crippen was the best option...... but after this year's recruiting class and hopefully solid portal additions we will have a great 2025 season... go blue.. nobody should be fired this season.... they deserve a full season with this class..... the guys that are greater recruiters can stay and michigan can hire additional analysts to help with training/coaching. Just my 2 cents.

What’s crazy is how the OL was this year considering Moore was the OL coach
@blakesir427911 күн бұрын
Moore was not the Oline coach this year. It was Grant Newsome
@jackpackage427811 күн бұрын
We’re not going to do much winning in the portal unless we drop the transfer credit rule for football players. If you transfer in the Michigan you have to get at least 50% of your credits there to graduate which means basically all true juniors and seniors aren’t going to come here. It’s very limiting and archaic considering how college football works now.

Dude you do not know what you’re talking about, I use to like your analysis, you said they had no chance against Ohio State Buckeye, I watched the video, please stop.
@collegefootballwithsam11 күн бұрын
Why? They were 20-point underdogs and had played like crap all season long. Don't tell me you "knew Michigan was going to pull it out". My 45-6 OSU prediction was wrong thanks to Ryan Day deciding that he needed to prove that his team could run the ball. All that game showed is Michigan has an elite OL, a culture that doesn't let them quit, and that Michigan has broken Ryan Day. I want Sherrone Moore to succeed, but there was A LOT wrong with the team this year. This team lost to Illinois 21-7 and needed trick plays to get past a bad MSU team. I'm being honest when I say what Michigan is doing right now isn't good enough.
@blakesir427911 күн бұрын
Osu passed more than they ran. In fact they passed at a higher percentage of plays than they had on average for the year. Stick to facts not what amateurs are saying
